You're forgetting the most important, unforgettable Blockland arcade game ever crafted.

Pong.

Way too laggy to be played right, IME.

Even with 6 players, monsters teleported 15 feet across and players flashed around like Dr. Who.

It's difficult to play when monsters teleport onto your head and players do nothing but playerkill.

For two hours straight, this idiot formed a posse and guarded the bridge and rocks from anyone who tried to get past the Goblin Fields, spamming chat with "NO ONE SEES THE WIZARD!!!!!!!!!!!!" They managed to use the lag to dodge everybody's shots, rendering them practically invincible.

When Gamefandan finally joined and we requested for the guy to be banned, he did nothing but request the guy to some duel or stuff. By that point, his little group of followers were still killing everyone so I just left.

I think you should put a little more enforcement on people standing on the bridge or even right outside of the loving castle killing everyone who tries to get through. I mean, although you're encouraging playerslaughter, you could at least put some cover points to hide from their golden spears and raining rockets when you first join.

Oh, and yeah, I have to agree with the instakilling monster stuff.

Help / Re: Where is Halcynthis's Fire game mode?
« on: October 19, 2011, 02:56:54 PM »
what's with all the hype about fire mods so suddenly? lol

According to an extensive chart graph, server mods go in sort of a "wave" pattern, especially in the Fall season.

They rise in popularity, hosted everywhere, then everyone gets bored of seeing nothing but them and switches to something else (this is the best time to release mods), then the lucky ones that survive rise in popularity, et cetera.

But after a while, the cycle shows that it loops back around - Eventually people want the mods that everyone got rid of a while back.

Layman Terms, everyone wants it back now that it's been gone for a while.

Help / Re: Blockland crashed for no reason!
« on: October 19, 2011, 02:53:53 PM »
The exact same thing happens to me, but when when no one is joining.

It just tries to post to master servers, does so a few times, then fails, then crashes.

Although I don't remember if it crashed to desktop like you or if it just went to the main menu...

Help / Re: Blockland V20 bug/error
« on: October 15, 2011, 03:17:34 PM »
I have the same problem, but instead of spamming my console with NotifyArrangedAddress or such, it just functions normally for a few minutes, then says "POSTING TO MASTER SERVER FAILED! RETRYING IN 5 SECONDS..."

"*** ENDING MISSION"

It's certainly not my internet and this hasn't happened before V20.

Also, I have quite literally the maximum amount of Datablocks allowed, so I'm not sure I can disable add-ons one by one without getting carpal tunnel.

I had this same issue on my thread "Ghost Saves".

I wanted to port over my files (which you can do with v20. yes, you can port over your v19 stuff.)  but since I was on a Windows 7, nothing appeared in Program Files.

I looked up "Virtual Store" after help from Badspot, and it turns out everything was THERE - in a hidden folder.

Keep that in mind if you're on a Win7/Vista, you want to port over your 3+ yr files, and can't find them.

Help / Re: Ghost Saves - (V20/V19 Issue)

If you installed Blockland v19 or earlier to the Program Files folder under Vista or Win7 with UAC enabled, then your saves may be in the Virtual Store.  You can get there by pasting %localappdata%\virtualstore into the explorer address bar.

It appears that these ghost saves have been captured by my Proton Pack.

Help / Ghost Saves - (V20/V19 Issue)
« on: October 13, 2011, 11:34:41 PM »
To make this short, all of my V19 saves are saved to an endless void of space (as are my screenshots, some of my maps and some of my addons) and I can't retrieve them.

To make this long,

If I go into V19 and create a save, it saves and I can load it later.

If I go into V20 and create a save, it saves and I can load it later.

If I search for the V19 save ANYWHERE on my computer, there are no results.
If I go into Program Files (86)/Blockland (the file location for V19) and look for my saves, only the default saves are there from the default maps, albeit I have hundreds of saves from dozens of maps.
There are SOME of my addons and most of my maps located there, so it's not the wrong file.

If I search for the V20 save, it directs me to Documents/Blockland, the file location for V20. So, basically, my V19 saves are ghosts.

And before anyone asks any dumb questions:

YES, I have Hidden Files enabled.
NO, I am not a Luddite.
NO, I cannot just forget and abandon memories and projects embedded with my e-sweat and e-blood spanning the course of 4 years because of a minor technical difficulty.
YES, this issue has existed even before V20 was released (to my memory), so it's not likely that V20 has overridden my save files.

How might I be able to find my V19 files? I really want, no, NEED, to port over my saves to V20.

By the way - I spent 2 hours with half-a-dozen people on Teamviewer with this, so a common dandy with a two-sentence suggestion likely will not make an impact in my problem.
Thank you. I urgently await a response.

Drama / Re: v20 Issues
« on: October 09, 2011, 10:00:11 PM »
I have a single minor issue (lights disappear if you're within 5 feet of them), but one thing that I need help with.

My V20 install transferred almost all of my maps. All of my maps titled F through G and U through Z did NOT transfer.

None of my saves transferred either, and only 50% of my add-ons (addons titled A through M) were transferred - the rest didn't show up anywhere.

It's pretty strange, so for now I'm playing on my V19 Copy (albeit none of my friends can join). And don't you dare call me a Luddite.

Played this on Furling's a little while ago and it was really fun.

I noticed that it actually did sort of work well with a large expedition group.

People formed into their own squads naturally and set off to do different objectives - One group of people were battling the Green Demon while another were fumbling with the gates. Occasionally the two groups would meet at a corner and non-verbally and without halt exchange members. Nice little group-mind thing.

Anyway, to the actual game, it was really fun with all of the other players and the rush of fighting Ashlur myself (I got the soul key! :D) but I felt it was mostly running through a maze with occasional shooting. I feel that it could use more interactive areas/terrain, and maybe trap-puzzles. This is ironic because the title itself is "Interactive Puzzle", yet it isn't very interactive (excluding killing the Mummies and collecting Gems) and there were actually no puzzles - simply putting keys into doors, my Grandfather would say. Actually, anyone would say that.

In whole, it was a fun game with a lot of visible effort and creativity put into it, but if possible it would be even more enjoyable if it was an Interactive Puzzle.

Music / Re: Any "Request's" on a "Loop"???
« on: October 06, 2011, 09:21:08 PM »
Wow. Heh, weird.

I just watched the short Blockland movie "Red Door" and was intrigued by the music. It was likely from Amnesia: Dark Descent's Ambient Tracks, which I actually have on my computer.

I came to see if anyone had music like it, see "requests", clicks, then see "Juicebox" - the very actor himself on the movie.

Anyway, you're likely not "in" on this information, but do you happen to have the .oggs for music like that?
Thanks.

Incredible.

The walls on the castle (and I mean the actual walls, not the defensive walls) are really repetitive in Texture, definitely duplicated, and the color isn't too nice either, but that's topped by the architecture.

Bravo.

8/10, really cool atmosphere (kudos to lighting as well) but the wall is butt-ugly.

2 pages in a few minutes.

Heh, to think I was here when Page 2 was half-way done.

Glad to see that we'll be able to download updates much easier.
