Help / Re: Crashing when I try to host

It probably wasn't a single addon, it was more than likely you passing the datablock limit.

There's a good bit of the console log saying it couldn't load addons because of exceeding the datablock limit.

Well it wasn't. I disabled a majority of the addons I didn't really need, launched again and got the same error right at the screen where it loads objects.

I'll try other methods and post back results, though. I still think it has something to do with Visual Studio and other things related to it...

Help / Re: How do you compress .ogg

You could try using http://dspguru.doom9.net/ to remaster it.
Other than that, I think ogg files are already compressed. What you'll probably have to do is shorten the song, as stated by Jasa.

Get rid of Map_Tutorial.

Get rid of Print_Letters_OldEnglish.

You're also passing the maximum number of datablocks.

Disable some more addons.

Try starting with only default mods.

Worked when I ran using default addons.
Just for clarification, what's wrong with  Print_Letters_OldEnglish?
And do you have any idea of what addon would be causing this error?

I've installed only addons from RTB, except for Tier + Tactical, with suspicions being towards server/client mods.

Help / Crashing when I try to host
« on: August 03, 2011, 07:23:51 PM »
I can't even play singleplayer, but for some reason I can join other peoples' servers with no problem.

Error:
Quote from: Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Program: C:\Blockland\Blockland.exe
This program has asked for Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.

Please contact the application's support team for more information.

... Or something very similar to that.

I thought it was an addon, so I tried hosting again with just default addons and I still got the error.
It's irritating the stuff out of me.
Would Visual Studio have anything to do with it? I had it installed but I uninstalled it with the belief that it, somehow, had done something that would [contribute to the] cause [of] the error.

I also tried reinstalling .NET framework but it still didn't affect it any.
The error used to occur right after loading objects, but now I actually have a minute or two of building time before the error.
It also pops up sometimes when I try to save or load bricks.

Anybody know of a solution? This never happened to me before. It used to work fine, but I don't know what happened.

I already tried reinstalling Blockland. Same thing.
