I LOVE IT!

But how plausible would a"mirror" feature be?

there's the possibility that I can sign up for this but I'm not sure right now. Do you want an app or something?

Add-Ons / Re: Plasticman's Barret 50. Caliber sniper rifle

that model is way too high poly and gigantic.

and the scope looks like it has too many parts

the 50 cal in the OP is a lot better than the new one.

if it was smaller and didn't have hands and wasn't terribly overpowered, the weapon in the OP would be good.

Its as small as it can be without looking out of proportion. I do admit it is high poly, but none of you know the polycount right? FYI, that's what the gun looks like in real life. The new model is better than the last one. I don't understand why the one in the OP is better in any way.

But may or may not be his.

OMG! I create a model and people start saying its not mine! I'm quite flattered that people thinks its so good it "may or not be" my model :D

Oh and it rendered out using YafaRay so that's why it looks really nice.

Just make the scope have 8 slices. Maybe make the rail more efficient.

It's just an example of how i can actually model/animate. If I ever release the sniper as my own  add-on then you can criticize.

I am a very sad D: Really wanted to release this!

I thank everyone for criticism, but can anyone actually HELP? I need the expertise of someone else that knows how to fix the problems I'm having :O

If you want to make smooth groups, select the faces, then simply press y.
If you do it right, it looks like curved flatshade.

Will try thanks.

-Edit: Tried and worked perfectly!

I updated the picture in the OP with the new bullet! I also toned down the diffuse reflection so that its not so bright.

I just want to make sure hes not just stealing the model, and getting away with it

the bullet, compared to the sniper, looks REALLY out of place don't you think?

No it doesn't. It doesn't because nothing else is smooth shaded like your bullet is; with separate smoothing groups- because i don't know how to do that. The only thing that is smooth shaded are the red scope pieces but that's because they are separate from the rest of the sniper, and I just click the "smooth" option for them. When I try "smooth" on the bullet, it smooths the whole thing, and the only way to get it to look like yours is if I double up the edge loops to form a crease. Other then that nothing is smooth shaded to look like your bullet. It also may be an artifact of the render, because the render did make it look really glowing yellow, among the dull and darker colors. What kind of proof do you want?

Keep in mind that I made these almost a year ago, so ive improved quite a bit. But these models still look decent. (These were made for Blockland)

make it look less like a banana, and more like a bullet?

http://www.tactical-life.com/online/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/bullet.gif

EDIT: 5 seconds in blender

8 slices, smooth shaded individually so it doesen't look too smooth, but also still looks like a perfectly rounded model

DAYUM! It looks a little disproportionate for a 50 cal but other than that its awesome! Can you hook me up with the .blend file?

14
Both

Please tell me how to change it to make it "better"

15
So you don't want the models to have hands?
I can work with that, but I might as well make 2, just for the sake of practice.

No i wan't the hands. Just i don't want the front hand to freak out when it moves. Because it ruins the lovey reload animations. And JUST THIS MODEL please. No other unless you really want to.
