Help / Re: Server could not verify your Blockland ID
« on: January 17, 2014, 05:23:57 PM »
I am having the same issue with my friend joining a server hosted by me.
The console.log of the server states:

Code: [Select]
Posting to master server
Posting to rtb server
Got Connect challenge Request from (My IP):36688
Starting arranged connection to (Friend's IP):36688...
   o possible[0] = (Friend's IP):36688
o possible[1] = (LAN IP that has nothing to do with ANYTHING, isn't my computer):36688
o possible[2] = (Unrelated IP, has nothing to do with anything):36688
   o possible[3] = 127.0.0.1:36688
Got connect request from (My IP):36688
  net name = EJBeierle
AUTHCHECK: EJBeierle = internet client -> internet server, regular auth
Authentication Failed for EJBeierle (My IP).
Issuing Disconnect packet.

I have uPnP off in both Blockland and my router. Port 28000 is forwarded to my computer. Attempts to join were made in Steam, with the server list, with my IP, and requests over RTB. This was done in both Steam and non-Steam versions of Blockland. I have tried this same issue with only one default add-on enabled (Emote_Alarm, picked randomly), and it still disconnected him.

I have a feeling we will be answerless for a long time...

sure, that might get us somewhere.

No wait, I've got nobody to host a server.

i have no idea, particularly since the problem is off and on

could you get someone to host a server for you, then, you join, then they post the server's console.log?

sure, that might get us somewhere.

there's an ip in the bottom right of your posts, does it say 83.1.216.127?

Uhh, Have you.. uh. any idea what is going on?

Because answering no, is way more satisfying than being ignored.

stuff, thought i posted by now.

not much to say, don't know what's wrong, but it's apparent that something is...

can you google the phrase "what is my ip address?" and tell me if it says 83.1.216.127?

oops, let's re-do that one

IP:
83.1.216.127

riiiiight

okay so that tells me two things
1: auth.blockland.us is the blockland pre-steam authentication method. the fact that you can see that page tells me that you can definitely auth
2: the second one was a little webserver i set up to get your ip, so i could see if the ip presented was indeed 83.1.216.127. it isn't.
since i posted that yesterday, i have received a number of connections which were all logged down
"GET /" is people doing what you should have done, going to anything else was them going to some things that i had been spreading around help forums. judging by how forum time is 1 hour later for me, and you posted about trying at 4 am forum time, lets see what logs came in around then...
Code: [Select]
82.160.95.150 - - [24/Dec/2013 03:24:49] "GET / HTTP/1.1" 200 -
82.160.95.150 is not 83.1.216.127

both of these are stella IPs, but they are not the same ip. this tells us stella likes to change your ip. the question is, do they change your ip so often it even catches you when you're ingame, or just overnight or something?

can you tell me what ip http://www.whatismyip.com/ tells you? it would also be interesting if it tells you you're behind a proxy.

Here's a screenshot of what came up.

And the whole, Stella changing my IP thing... makes me speechless.
