It’s September, 23rd, 2012 and it’s been 2 years since I've been in prison. I've been wondering what’s happening outside of these bars.
The Police Force has been trusting me even though what crime I did, letting me have good food,
a small salary at the kitchen serving food to other prisoners. Recently, I've been ease dropping on some Prison Guards
about something called a "Genemeter" and I can't find out what all of that is until I'm out of prison to do some research.
In 2010, I finished Stanford University with my PhD Degree. I came back from the United States to my homeland France with
a good education. The Ambassador of Italy came to visit my city and we were having a parade, most of the people were celebrating for the
arrival of the Ambassador and having tons of food. I see the Ambassador drop something, it looked like a necklace that has fallen
out of the car he was in. A little boy picks it up and observed it. When he was about to give it to the Police Force, I took action and ran as fast as possible
to the group, snatched it from the Police force as the little boy was giving them the necklace. As I was running back into the crowd. I heard a whistle blow and one of the Police Men
shouted "CATCH THAT CROOK!", as I was running I looked at the necklace-- it was a gold chain embedded with lines of emeralds, rubies, diamonds, platinum, and all sorts of other
minerals. I had a big head start for most of the cops there were enjoying their day eating the food there. When I got home, I immediately searched for a hiding place for the necklace where no one would ever expect. I ran back to the door, but just then cops came in
shouting "GET ON THE DAMN GROUND YOU CROOK". They forced me to the ground, and put handcuffs on me. I think to myself,
"Is that how cops normally enforce the law? Yell at someone to get on the damn floor, he must have had a bad day today."
January, 21st, 2013: For some reason, the guards are letting everyone go, saying get out, there is a disease around here.
I question what kind of disease that would be so bad that would let the Police force release almost every prisoner out regardless of the severity of their crimes. I was sentenced 10 years and
I've only been here for 2 years. It seemed odd that a disease would force the Police to free every prisoner from every prison. I walk around the
town looking wanting to Pickpocket. I've never been caught until that event at the parade happened. I question myself,
'What are those people in alleyways smuggling? It doesn't seem like drugs but some kind of needle. I investigated and pick pocketed a few
of these needles which turn out to be injectors. And people were selling these things. One of the injectors said "Genemeter"
on the side of the injector. I went home and studied these Injectors. Next day I pickpocket about 30 of these injectors and sold them.
It’s $300 dollars for ONE injector. After I earned enough profit, I head home and spare 2 of the injectors for more research, I went and caught a mouse and a rat, put them in a cage, and tested what the injector did to them. For the mouse and rat it looked like he got buffed up, which is really
what happened, but the side effect was that they seemed to have a never-ending need for food. I went to bed without caring about the two test rodents. When I woke up,
I looked at the two test rodents, and decided to place a regular mouse and rat in the appropriate cages and the two rodents that were tested on slaughtered the other two. Now they were growing
weaker. They had a desperate need of food, so they were trying to bite me. I killed them quickly to prevent any bad events from happening.
I open the door, and it seemed abnormal, people weren't roaming the city about or kids running and tons of people doing 'stuff'.
I go outside, it looked like as everyone locked their doors and put blinds on their windows. I wonder to myself
'Are they hiding from something? Like that disease?" I looked back at the dead rodents, quickly took action,
trusting ONE PERSON, all the stories I heard about my family trusting people either ended up in debt or death.
But I still trust one more person in my world after my father died in the military, giving his general starred shoulder pads to me,
and keeping them and taking them wherever I go. I quickly get a Hatchet and walk to my Neighbor's house who has a Bunker for
2 people with a 15-Year supply of canned food. I quickly ask if I can go in with him, we both take action and hide together. We had
no windows, only cameras to look out what’s happening. We sat and talked a bit, even though I'm very non-talkative. I got on
the computer and did some research on what is happening, a city near me has been caught by the disease, infecting everyone.
We went to bed since it was getting late. We woke up and were shocked to see that everything was destroyed, walls torn apart,
window's shattered, blood everywhere, and flesh... and there were people walking around with deformed faces and shabby clothing and looked as if they had a different skin color than usual... some of their bodies were torn apart...
It has been about 2 months and I'm already 32, last month was my birthday. We wake up to the sound of sirens and the blades of a helicopter, we look on the camera's and 3 Helicopters have landed with military solders, they looked American.
One of the Solder said "FIND ALL REMAINING SURVIVORS AND KILL ALL OF THESE INFECTED PEOPLE IF NECESSARY." My friend quickly
grabs a big Backpack and stash's it with food and runs out of the bunker, with me trying to get that necklace and Hatchet, he looks at
me and smiles then he says, "Really, again Chris?" I tell him what I do, so he knows all of my pick-pocketing career, and that’s how I got
to collage and getting an airplane flight back to France and to America. We both rush out and run into the same Helicopter and a soldier
says, "Grab my hand, I'll pull you up." I do so and he pulls me up, my friend as well. It took about 10 minutes until all the solders came
back with only 7 survivors, we take off into the air. One of the soldiers recognized my shoulder pads and says, "Are those yours." I reply
with "je ne comprends pas (I don’t understand in French)." Just to joke around with him. He sighs and looks at me and makes
gestures, slowly asking "ARE THOSE SHOULDER PADS YOURS?" I reply with "NO, THESE ARE MY DADS." He looks at me with
a face of annoyance and I just looked away and off into the distance. I then looked around the helicopter interior and noticed some fuel for the helicopter if we ran out of fuel and three injectors and one in a bag saying "SAMPLE".
We arrived in a cold bitter place, I did not know what place we did but I heard one of the soldiers say
"We're at Alaska." I didn't really know much of this stuff but I almost left my hatchet in the helicopter that I brought with me.
Once then the soldiers escorted us to a place, more like a cave with more
survivors and about 6 soldiers staying with about 20 armed civilians. One of the people that came
from American ditched the American soldiers out in the snow shouting something I did not understand.
We go into the cave and sit there with the soldiers near a fire. They show us around and how they can contact us
if we are ever in trouble. I wonder if I should trust these American soldiers and be able to survive with them.
All that came through my head was to stay alive in this bitter cold place from this horrid disease. I leave the cave
at night slipping past all the night guards stealing a backpack and other useful items. I find a man wandering
about Greenwood’s forest. I follow him to another camp. How is this possible? Another camp? I come as close
to the camp without being spotted. I will wait near the camp until I decided to go talk to one of the so called “Greenwood Bandits” that walked by. Don't let anyone get into my way of what I do best, pick-pocketing.
