I hadn't played for a while and now have the exact same issues.

I have tried with firewall of the computer turned off as well as on a different system in the house.

Any resolution out there for this??

So I was looking at the pictures and noticed a large, open gray area on the planned city diagram.  Is this spot just unfinished or is it going to be like this in the real build?  I also noticed that in the train tunnel, the archway has a slight bit more of a point than a curve.  Was this meant or are you not able to make a curved arch?

If you want, I could take a crack at modeling a new train, but only if a scripter is available because I have absolutely no idea how to script stuff.  Just send me a pic of the train you want and I could make it, maybe, still a little scetchy on the stuff other than the actual rendering of the vehicle.

That open area is now filled with buildings (If you want to come to my server now it's up)
And the tunnel entrance is supposed to be like that.

For a model I was thinking something like this: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/d/d1/Tile_Hill_train_550.jpg Of course not as detailed, and shorter of course, color doesn't matter to me. Only if you really want to, though.

With the addvelocity thing, relays would work well, it's just timing for relays if you want it to stop to pick up people.  I had just had this thought whilst writing this.  If you were to spawn the 'train' as a bot first, and then change its datablock to a train, this may work with events and such in zone bricks.

It would be cool if a working metro system could be put in because I'd copy it for my own selfish reasons, hehehe, but if the current box train isn't working, then you could get an experienced scripter to change some aspects of the train to make it more of a vehicle so zones would work.

Carpe Noctum dude!!

Like i said before, relays don't work with vehicle events. Also, i tried the bot thing aswell but... unfortunately the train is a vehicle and therefor isn't in the datablock list...
Haha, see what i mean when i said i've tried everything?

I suppose i could seek out some sort of scripter... Or wait until a better train (that isn't so glitchy and doesn't have annoying "realistic" sounds that destroy your ears) is released.
Look at that lovey guy in the black sweater
That guy in the red suit's lookin' pretty spiffy too :3

Ya the train doesn't work with onvehicleenterzone and stuff, I can't remember if I tried onbotenterzone or if there even is such an event.  I've also tried putting a bot driver in the train and having bot events done but that don't work either.  Some one somewhere could be the train driver using setvehicleasplayercontrol event.  If the tracks are straight then all you have to do is event-- onvehiclespawn-vehicle-addvelocity-   X x x.  Also try doing the setvehicleasplayercontrol event with a random bot and have it steer.
I tried the same thing with the bot, and addvelocity just gives the train a short boost for a very small distance, which i could use if relays worked with vehicle events.
If the train doesn't work with onvehicleenterzone, perhaps there is another vehicle similar that i could use? I've yet to find one but if you've got any ideas PM me.
setvehicleasplayercontrol could work but... I doubt anyone is going to be smart enough to keep it on the track in a straight line.

Last resort will be just a train built into the tunnels that you can walk across, i suppose.

Jadan, sorry i didn't re-spawn to your PM. I was busy that day or just not on-line at the moment, or afk :P. but anyway I'm starting up blockland, and if you start up a server try PMing me and IRCing me.
sure thing, i'm just cleaning up my computer atm, so if a server does go up today it will be much later.

I can help with events. Do you have the Train Vehicle?

Yep I do, I'd be able to do it if there was onvehicletouch... and zones ain't workin' for me.

I'd Be willing to help! Pm me!
Awesome, looks great. Id like to help if i could, Pm me if i can. I love the build, keep up the good work.  :cookie:  :cookieMonster:
Sure, I'll pm you when i open the server.

This seems like a cool concept and looks great so far, but if you're going to do any legit parkour in the build, events or invisible supports will be needed.

I would like to help and if you need an example of my building skill just check out these pics of my Roman colosseum from the URL below
scroll down as far as you can to where my builds are that I used pictures to make it, the earlier builds are crap guesses made on another server

We're going to use the agile playertype, and hang gliders.
Sounds great, we could use a good builder like you.
