anyways 30% of the users turned out to be child enthusiasts, 30% fell down the alt-right pipeline and became fascists, 30% did effectively the exact opposite of that, and 10% just kinda still exist
anyways we're still out there - i think people just ended up splintering off into discord friend groups once things here died down (i certainly did lol). i started playing blockland when i was 8 (the demo, got my key at 10) and it was a huge part of my life for over 10 years, had a lot of fun although being a naive young kid on the forums was quite the mistake in hindsight

I played Halo 2 online and you would just boot the game and pick a game to join.there is now a replacement server for original xbox live called insignia, granted you do need to mod your xbox to use it but it supports a fairly large number of games and they are currently focusing on getting halo 2 up and running (matchmaking already works they just need to finish implementing the playlists and the team system). ive used kai before but ive always found it kind of jank so it will be great when h2 is supported
update: insignia just put halo 2 online, its pretty wild to see the og xbox version of the game getting a lot more attention now

ive been working on making a whole retro gaming setup as of late, all of my pre-hdmi consoles now go through a retrotink upscaler and stuff looks good on the 4k tv i have everything connected to. the setup covers everything from ps1/n64 to xbone/ps4/wii u, its pretty awesome
