Erm, the page is blank...
I'm getting this too. Cracked currently seems to be acting up a bit. Although, the page does load if you wait long enough.

"5 Ways to Stop Trolls From Killing the Internet"

Funny, when 'trolling' comes to my mind, I'm instantly reminded of the people in this community.

This may very well be the thing to send shivers down the spines of anyone who has ever said "this is the internet" or "the internet is serious business" as an excuse to do anything.

Typical 'complete' builds that get posted in the gallery are just as bad as any work in progress. You are not making a compelling enough reason.

Coincedence with Faith in Mirror's Edge and this?  I guess she was named for a reason, making people have a little more faith in EA?
Umm...what?

Oh, this is just hilarious!

It's funny how I've heard people going on about how Spore is being lead by Will Wright, so the game will undisputedly be awsome. Because apparently Wright is the only person in the industry who can put all of his ideas into a triple A title, drive a monster as big as Electronic Arts and set a game's release date to 'when it's done'.

And now I hear that someone else has been taking over authority from Wright and making lead decisions about the game in his place.

Everyone in this thread is probably thinking that what just happened with Spore is absurd. But I'm so used to hearing about absurd things happening in the video game industry that to me something like this is almost to be expected.

The video game industry: Never ceasing at becoming ever stufftier or absurd.

People losing faith in what was quite possibly the most unbeatable figure? Yep; sounds just like another day at the office.

Faces, Decals, Prints / Hezkore's Cool Face
« on: October 31, 2008, 06:43:30 PM »
Please note: This face is NOT mine. It was the work of Hezkore, who had given me permission to upload it. Do not credit me for this.

The reason I'm uploading this is because I truly believe this was one of the best faces to grace Blockland. It was originally posted very early in retail's cycle. Unfortunately, it was uploaded to BJayWay which went down very shortly after. What's more is that the original author of the face never came back to post on these boards.

Almost three months ago just after version 9 came out, I came across Hezkore in game by chance, and asked him if he was ever going to come back and post his face again. Apparently he doesn't even have the face anymore, and never thought much of it to begin with.

So there you have it. Apparently I'm(and anyone else is) allowed to do whatever with it. I would've done this almost three months ago then, but I was lazy.

I've taken the liberty of cleaning the image up a little(by somewhat removing the white outlines that are visible in game), giving it an appropriate file name(The original I had was called hezkore31431710206), and making a thumbnail to go with it.

Here's a preview image.

I am a Breakout Bat.

I am an abstract sort of creature, who dislikes any sort of restraint. If you try to pigeonhole me, I'll break the box, and come back for more. I don't have any particular ambitions, I just drift, but I am adept at keeping life going along.

(If you were not a Breakout Bat you would be Kong.)

I will never understand you people who rail against the existence of vegetarianism as a personal lifestyle in a self-righteous manner just as much as you complain about how they are self-righteous against you.

I didn't really use the internet until mid 2002. But man, I get the impression that the internet back then was much more pleasant. At least then there weren't sites like 4chan on such a scale like today, 'anonymous', and all of this backwards principles bullstuff. But maybe that's just me.

Gallery / Blockscape Angel Island
« on: September 30, 2008, 03:56:07 AM »
This was my contribution to Badspot's older blockscape build from a month ago, Angel Island. It took 28 hours to build from start to finish, which some of that time was spent making giant references and measurements so that the island would both look somewhat natural, and have it match the crater under it. Sans the most under 4x4 bricks and the water brick, it's supposed to fit perfectly into the ground. The build also doubles as a mini game, which I originally wanted to make it a lights out game using the super emeralds, but because of problems with dealing with schedule quota hit, I've ended up making it a treasure hunt game instead.

Under shots of the island. Also reelshiny has a special interest for the WinRAR file archiver and data compression program.

Over shots. It may be hard to see from this point of view as the island seems to blend in with all of the other terrain.

A close up view of the master emerald shrine.

A jump pad which allows access to the island for no-jet players. Also I've found that the island is barely low enough that you can free fall from it to the nearest ground. And I do mean barely, as in a brick or two higher would cause you to take fall damage.

The super emeralds are lit up! What does that indicate?

I don't know why everyone BAWWWWWs over people dying and giving respects to an empty husk. The body's merely a shell, and should be disposed of. We should learn from the Klingon, they dispose of their deceased without hassle.

Weren't you one of those people who didn't like it when others weren't sobbing over the twin towers incident in a gallery thread months ago?

You sure you aren't a sadist? You sure do like it when people die.

General Discussion / Re: Bloko Raceway - Video
« on: September 27, 2008, 03:44:56 PM »
There isn't much to the video that I can say, since it's just a demonstration of your track.

As for the track in question, I'm not fond of the idea of making a whole map for a single track layout which looks as if you could've built it in game instead, because as a map it has very limited use. But either way, I think your track is poorly designed. The track's width is too thin, you can't fit many jeep-sized vehicles side by side. Also it seems like you didn't take torque physics into account and how vehicles react to bumps and ramps when you made this. The transitions between the higher and lower parts of the track are very steep, vehicles that pass over them end up flying then bouncing all over. Placement of the upwards ramp right before the first sharp turn is begging to racers to overshoot it and fly off the track. And there's barely any running space between the jump ramp and the turn before it.

And by god, the Benny Hill theme is overused, it's not funny nor clever.
