Add-Ons / Re: Speed Events, Sprint playertype(VCE Support!)

Correct.

Ignore the "setMaxHealth" lol

I know that the underwater functions do exist, but when using them there is absolutely no difference in speed.

You also forgot water speeds.
I've tried to experiment with water speeds before but could see no difference at all when being in water, which is why I currently don't have them in here. If I could get them working probably I would definatly add them.

Like?
If you want to be able to use numbers that aren't integers then use a string. Please just use something easier to use and more customizable than a sliding bar.
I replaced the sliding bar with a string, and also added support for VCE to go along with it.

OP should add the following events.

                        Forward
setUnderwaterSpeed >    Backward
                        Side
                        All

setSpeed >         All
setCrouchSpeed >   All

As well as addSpeed and minusSpeed events. Also, the bars should be swapped out for integer boxes(with max of 200).
This is more popular because you can set the speed for individual things, not just a general speed multiplier.
I added events for All last time I released an update, though I may have forgot to mention it in the actual OP. Now that there is VCE support it should be easy enough to do addSpeed and minusSpeed without the need for two new separate functions.

PlayerStandardArmor
maxUnderwaterForwardSpeed = 8.4;
maxUnderwaterBackwardSpeed = 7.8;
maxUnderwaterSideSpeed = 7.8;

Either way, it's part of the system, it should remain part of the system.

And since that support script doesn't look like it's going to support individual values anytime soon, I think the next step after adding water/all values would be to add VCE support, like, <var:pl:maxForwardSpeed>, which will call the get/set function depending on whether you're using get or set.
Added VCE support to the events themselves along with 6 variable replacers, one for each direction of movement speed and crouched/not crouched.

Sorry, I overlooked that comment when I made my last post. I'll add that in a few minutes.

I remember you man. Been 2 years since your last post. Welcome back :)
Yes, welcome back.
Gotta work on that avatar.
I started playing again a couple weeks ago but haven't done much on the forums. Nice to be back though (:

Underwater speeds?
I was originally going to have this, but for some reason when I use player.setMaxUnderwaterForwar dSpeed(speed) and the other underwater speeds, I could see no difference in speed at all when being in water. I do plan to look into it more though.

why limit it from 1 to 50? there's an upper limit to the functions, so you could put it there. i think it's 200?
I figured 50 was a pretty fair speed, though I may consider raising that if people would like me to.

And for people in general, would you prefer to have the speed as a slider like it currently is, or would you prefer to have it changed to a box where you can simply type the speed you'd like?

Add-Ons / Speed Events, Sprint playertype(VCE Support!)

Speed events
This add-on contains a few simple events to customize a player's speed.

I am aware that there is already another add-on for this, but it didn't have the option to set individual speeds.

Contains the following events:
Player -> SetSpeed - direction - speed
Player -> SetCrouchSpeed - direction - speed
Player -> ResetSpeed
The direction is chose with a list that contains 3 options: Forward, Backward, and Side, and All.
Speed is determined by putting a number into the box. There is also VCE support allowing variable replacers to be put in place too.
ResetSpeed will reset all the player's speeds to what their current datablock defaults to.

Updates:
Quote
1/16/15
Max speed is now 100
Added an option to set all directions at once to each of the events

1/19/15
VCE Support;
setSpeed and setCrouchSpeed are now a box that can have a number or variable entered.
Added the following variables;
var:pl:maxForwardSpeed
var:pl:maxSideSpeed
var:pl:maxBackwardSpeed
var:pl:maxCrouchForwardSpeed
var:pl:maxCrouchSideSpeed
var:pl:maxCrouchBackwardSpeed

Sprint playertype
The sprint playertype is a new player datablock that allows users to double tap their move forward key (default W) and sprint at a higher speed than normal walking. To get this addon to work, I had to make it require clients to also have the add-on. If someone joins your server when this is enabled and they don't have it, they will receive a warning message and a link to this topic.

Its somewhat hard, like a hard plastic. Its shiny but doesn't have a glassy texture like obsidian at all.

Try seeing what can scratch it also.
The side of my pliers managed to put a scratch in it, but glass didn't appear to scratch it

Try scraping it on other minerals or something, maybe you can figure out it's hardness and use that to help identify it.
I'm not sure if this is good enough, but it appears to easily scratch the side of a plastic disposable lighter and not glass.

100% certain, for a fact, that is obsidian. In terms of the red hue,What were you expecting? Sell a black 'gem' on ebay for 12 grand? fat chance.

No, it's not completely useless. Give the time, patience and skill of hand, you could make your own obsidian arrowhead. If all goes well, you could thread it and have a very nice necklace for yourself or someone else.

Otherwise if that's not you, toss it. Obsidian is literally found anywhere where volcanic activity of some form has occurred, and even then it can be found outside of volcanic areas.

I definatly wasn't expecting a lot from it. Maybe even around just $20. I've never saw a stone like this before so I was curious.

It looks like graphite. Does it write on stuff?
Somewhat

Left side is from the stone and right is from a normal graphite pencil. The stone comes out more of a brown color when its on paper.

It doesn't look like obsidian.

I can't tell from the low quality pictures, but what about coal?
It doesn't really seem like coal, it's perfectly black and very shiny. Though I don't know much about gems and such, so I can't be sure.

You could try your hand at crafting an arrowhead...
Its a little small for that. About the size of a nickel and a dime side by side. Is there any way it would have cash value, such as getting it shaped into a gem? Or is that not worth the time?

It's obsidian with a mixture of either/or iron and magnesium giving the reddish tinge.
So it's pretty much worthless?

I took a pair of pliers and tried to chip a little piece off and this is what it came out like

Also, does anyone know what that transparent reddish part is?

Today I was out walking around town and found a interesting stone on the ground. At first I thought it was obsidian, but I'm not very sure. Its a pure black color, quite glossy, and feels very smooth. At one point it looks like there is something reddish and a little transparent in it. The stone itself isn't transparent at all. Here is some pictures

Leaves a brownish streak on paper

Scratches plastic but not glass

Its hard to see, but here is some pictures of the somewhat red transparent part
