Gallery / Re: A Cohort Team Project (or what remains lel) Titanic
« on: December 09, 2016, 09:47:25 PM »
A lot of this looks brick for brick like mine.
Well, we ARE working from the same source material as this team. I can already see that the two projects resulted in subtle differences in the results of the First Class Lounge. For example, I kept the three-light wall fixtures of the room, while this project changed them to two-light fixtures.

To Sylvanor and the rest of your team:
We never got very far into the first class smoking room to my memory, whereas your team has done a spectacular job with it so far, including the custom windows! For some nitpicky constructive criticism, I suggest that whoever worked on the first class lounge on your project might want to reevaluate the placement of wall light fixtures surrounding the fireplace:

I say this because it looks like light fixtures were placed on the sides of the columns to either side of the fireplace, rather than on their fronts with another set close by.

Additionally, if possible, color that gray ceiling trim in the first class lounge gold, and the floor green. If gray and white/tan weren't intended to be temporary colors and were actually recommended by a researcher on your team, bar that person from being a researcher for your project any further, because green and gold were the signature colors of the first class lounge.

Though I could not replicate it precisely due to the scale, I made the American flag on the foremast of the ship. The 46-star flag served from July 4, 1908 to July 4, 1912.

The flag on the mainmast (rear mast) is the White Star Line flag, which should be iconic enough for people to know of it. I had to use a print asterisk for the star, but it works!

The flag at the stern is known as the "blue ensign," or, informally, the "blue duster." It denotes that the captain of the ship has achieved at least a certain rank within Britain's royal Navy, which indeed Captain Edward John Smith R.D. R.N.R. had. If the captain were a civilian, the flag would have a red field instead of a blue one, in a design known as the "red ensign" or "red duster."

Just as a side note, "Titanic" and "Liverpool" are much more easily read if you look upward at a 45 degree angle from directly behind it. Titanic has never been to Liverpool, but that's where the paperwork registering the vessel was filled out, so that's why the name of the place name appears on her stern.

RMS's head
I got that it's a joke, but I specialize in being a buzzkill.

Now we need a replica of the replica of Bones4's replica!

Time for RMS to do what RMS does best: nitpick Titanic-related media to hell and back! (Well, that and carry mail under contract of Royal Mail, but I am unfortunately not actually a ship.)

1) That iceberg doesn't look like it weighs 300,000 tons to me. Hell, if the Titanic iceberg was that tiny (not even reaching the forecastle), Titanic would have probably simply pushed it aside with one compartment breached at the very most.
2) Icebergs continually roll over anyway. If a toppling iceberg was such a problem, the penguins would have fallen off days ago. In fact, the iceberg that sank Titanic had most likely rolled over recently before striking the ship, causing it to be virtually transparent by the time it came time for Titanic's lookouts to search for it.
3) Because of the last sentence of 2), the iceberg should not be white. Again, it should be virtually transparent.
4) Also because of 2), and related iceberg physics, it should be deeper in the water than it is long. In fact, 90% of its mass should be underwater. While that doesn't allow for the "sinking" panel to look too convincing (icebergs don't sink anyway, they simply melt), it would solve the weight issue mentioned in 1), and thus the loop closes.

Oh yeah, and Krystal's not gonna be playing Blockland for 2 weeks.

Meanwhile, I think Bones4 can start working in Blockland again in 5 days, which is gonna give me an absolutely titanic obligation.

A Steam group would be great
Not after what happened to the last one, it wouldn't.

Anyway, a project I've been spending years helping on was in the newest Blockland trailer.

Now make a Sherman Crocodile with its signature flame thrower!
I prefer the original Maus design as presented to Riddler as a full-scale model, where they wanted to have the tank as it is known now, plus dual flamethrowers, each attached to a pair of sub-turrets welded to the rear of the hull, fed by a shared 100-liter fuel tank located in between them.

what the hell is a M4E8
You don't recognize what tank that is because he meant to say the M4A2E8. That should clear up this confusion!

I personally think it looks a bit more like the M26 than the Easy 8.

Sounds good to me, that's how I build anyways.
Are you cool with modifying text behind the game for the sake of removing unhammerable and unwandable bricks? Because we have those, too.

And even if you are, I'm sure there's not enough people willing to do that to make those bricks default (including me).

Every brick used in the building of the Titanic should be made default just so the build can be a default build.
Making this default would also require doubling the colorset, allowing new scripts, thinning up the default player, raising the default event schedule, etc., etc., etc., etc.

We use so many bricks that even we get lost sometimes when looking for specific bricks, and we've been working with them for months, if not years.

it's like a family reunion
I would liken it to Blockland Neoclassicism!
