Help / Re: Fall Damage crashing game.
« on: March 24, 2021, 02:33:58 PM »
Heyo, am back after rigorous testing.

As it turns out, my defibrillator add-on, when enabled along with SMM bodies, causes my game to crash upon fall damage. This seems to be the only addon pair I have that causes this. Is there any way to have them both enabled at the same time?

Help / Fall Damage crashing game.

I thought Rallypack or SMM bodies was causing this, as seen in https://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=319267, but after disabling these I still crash from only fall damage (I have a bunch of other addons enabled). With minimal to no-default excluded-addons, my game does not crash from falling damage. I can't tell what's causing it. Here's the log after Rallypack and SMM Blood and Bodies are disabled, with the rest of my addons on.

EDIT:

I wrote this as I tested this again with SMM Bodies and Blood disabled. My game did NOT crash. I'm guessing SMM Blood and bodies is conflicting with another addon then, as I have recently hosted with SMM Blood and Bodies enabled with minimal addons and fall damage was not crashing my game. Can someone tell me what is conflicting, if this is the case? Here's the log where my game crashes with SMM Blood and Bodies enabled, along with other addons enabled. (Rallypack is disabled.)

Can you post the .bls here?

What save would you like? The original, the one I had in progress or the finished one?

So, I did a lot of experimenting on my own, and I fixed the majority of it. (Minor things missing.)

After relaunching the game with the new addons removed - (Bricks and that one weapon addon) - and noticing no changes, I loaded the modified save once again. (The save where I took out the line that the original save had an error with.) This time, once I loaded the modified save and received another error, I noticed that the error was slightly different.

The original error had a 0 and the new one had a 2. After realizing this, I turned the modified save (I'll refer to the this one and the ones after as Modified Save 1, 2, 3) back into a text file, opened notepad, and deleted the line once again. Dubbing this new save Modified Save 2, I load it in Blockland once again. I get another error once more, but also a large portion of the missing blocks are now loaded. Clearly I was on my way to restoring the full save this route.

(By the way, I noticed that between the first and second errors, a small amount of bricks had returned. I didn't think much of it and that's why I didn't note it previously, thinking it was just some odd fluke.)

Well, I opened the text version of the file, deleted the error once more, and loaded the save.

Everything loaded completely with no errors!

At least; mostly everything.

3 button blocks were missing. I have a feeling those errors are related to those, so I didn't bother messing with it. Also, a large chunk of the map was missing too, but I have a feeling a player deleted this portion instead of it not loading correctly. Mostly since I didn't check this portion until the last save was loaded.

So there we have it! That's my experience with this mess-up. I don't need any more help per se but I'd like to know more about it.

P.S. In case someone else runs into this problem, I notice the errors show up near the +-EVENT portion of the txt files. I don't know if this is the case all the time. Also the errors being with a naked quote, (" ) followed by a space then a string of numbers representing a block's positoning. That should help you find the errors in advance.

Anyways, thanks Goth77 for helping me out, and everyone else who had the problem in the past.

Brick_Log
Brick_NC
Brick_Octo
Brick_Nuke
Brick_TilePlates
Brick_Tiles
Brick_SeamlessTiles
Brick_MedievalMisc

I got all of these from Kenko's Blockland Archive, so I can't tell you who created them. Also I disabled Weapon_SWeps_Melee before starting up my game. Would either of these cause it to not load correctly?

Help / Loading a certain BLS file.

Hey guys, I'm wondering if someone can help me out here?

I've been working on a Military Base build with others for the past month, including earlier today. After taking a little break and restarting blockland, I load my server back up-with a few more addons enabled (they were brickpacks). However, once I load up my most recent autosave, the save suddenly doesn't load right. In the chat, it keeps saying "host canceled load" immediately, yet it still loads some of the map; about half of it. I also check console and get an error. (ERROR: ServerLoadSaveFile_Tick() - Bad line "" 121.75 113.25 33.5 1 0 2   0 0 1 1 1" - expected brick line but found no uiname) So I researched it, and found that other people had the same error on the forums. Apparently you're supposed to delete the line and that will fix it.

Ex. https://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=323385.0 , for example.

Well, they edited it in notepad plus, and I did the same in just normal notepad. I made a copy of the save, deleted the line, restarted blockland, and loaded the save. The same error happens and the load stops at the exact same place.

I'm not sure what to do now. Since I have autosaves, I tried loading previous saves where I know for a fact that this error wasn't there. It still remains.

I would LOVE it if someone could help me out, and stick with me until then end of this. Thank you for letting me take your time to read this, and have a good day. :D
