not sure if I should be happy or terrified that enough time has passed since I started playing this game for me to grow up and get a degree and yet there's still several names posting here I recognize from the 2012-14 days lol, hope yall gamers are doing good

In nearly every aspect of it's design, das2 focuses on fighting multiple enemies at once, instead of the one-on-one combat of dark souls 1. Lifegems that you can move while healing with, refined lock-on, faster walking speed when unlocked, and less enemies that hide behind some big fat forget and hit you with attacks you couldn't have possibly seen (O&S).

If ruin sentinels were a dark souls 1 boss, they would be loving terrible, and much harder. If o&s were a dark souls 2 boss (with Ornstein's glithy animation cancelling forgetery fixed) they would be super easy.

Most people who play dark souls 2 never realize this, and go in expecting the refined one-on-one combat of das1, then get disappointed when the sequel did something different.

i saw the 30 minute japanese stream and it looked WAY different than normal dark souls, looked more demon's souls/bloodborne'y to me. iunno man, you sure you're not just misjudging
There are several NPCs and other things ripped straight from DaS1. Andre, Siegnotmayer, Oscar as a world prop thing, the loving bat demon transition cutscene

Some nostalgic throwbacks are okay, but straight copypastes are not in my book

Also you can get the uchigatana which already looks overpowered (among with dex and Flynn's) not much after the second boss, and use it as an SL8 Mercenary.

ok so lobos just streamed like 45 minutes of the game, several weapons, items, areas and bosses were shown

http://www.twitch.tv/lobosjr/v/51699657

Now, the game so far is 80% copypasted

The items, weapons, NPCs, animations are all dark souls one copypastes

You might just love it but it combined with the PvP already being likely to be terrible just killed every last bit of hype for me

rest in peace

so far: katanas are silly fast, offhand weapons combo (l1 > l1, unlike das1), armors are loving hot, mirrah greatsword with das1 one handed moveset/animations, and the video is 60fps which may or may not imply there is no framerate cap on peecee

I didn't add lads of the flannel to the OP because it's not made by Fromsoft, and everyone i've ever talked to says that it's a terrible souls imitation and a decent game at best

At that point i might as well add fluff like DarkMaus and 'kinda like souls games i guess but we have no actual idea what makes souls games good however it's hard so buy it' games which i won't

i wish there was a way to see how much status effect damage your weapons cause in ds2
i've got 2 claws with lacerating that do like 200~ bleed damage but i can never seem to bleed anyone
bleed is loving terrible anyways, even if you manage to proc it it deals like 200 damage flat and makes your opponent move slightly slower for a few seconds
can i jump dark souls 2?
i didnt really get into it. Ive 100% dark souls and i kinda just wanna get ds3
yes

No one link the CINEMATIC YET?

Really don't care because I'm not doing stupid stuff like DDoSing, buying drugs/guns/bombs, or any illegal crap online. Most I've done that would seem suspicious was look up how nuclear bombs work on Wikipedia.
Ah yes, the good old 'if you have nothing to hide why give a stuff about privacy' argument.

He's right, Dark Souls PC IS full of hackers, but it's your fault if you try to play the game without a controller and essentials like DSFix. The lack of hate-mail is kind-of annoying too, but have fun playing online on console without mods like PvPWatchdog to protect against insta-curse/egghead cheaters.

Dark souls 2 does have a worthless cheat detection, but if anything that's just another way to grief players (drop hacked items > unwary player picks it up > crashes game when he tries to remove it > gets banned from playing online ever). The few cases where legitemate hackers get banned they can just make an alt, steam family share and be back in business.
