Add-Ons / Packers Block Wars Pack (Star Wars)
« on: May 05, 2015, 10:19:44 AM »

Its been something like 6+ years since I started doing models for Block Wars with the intentions of releasing these on release with the movie, yeah that's not happening. So enjoy them now all this time later, just in time for Star Wars 7 hype.

Question "Why isn't bla here?"
Answer: This is my stuff, not Swholli's or others.

Question "I saw you made bla, why isn't that here?"
Answer: Its probably not finished or working, maybe one day. Though post what it is in the thread to bring it to my attention.

Disclaimer: Some of these were not designed for general gameplay so if they're not working as you'd expect than you'll have to fix it yourself.

Suggestions & Requests / Various improvements and alterations
« on: September 23, 2013, 04:12:27 AM »
Bunch of suggestions below, most of which are improvements revolving around the player.

  • An update on the mini figure giving it a complete UV unwrap, specifically to be able to create a per-rendered AO Pass on the character giving it much needed details especially the sides that are in the shadow. Example: Current Minifig on the left and outcome on the middle.
  • Torques latest standard has introduced a system which defaults missing animations to the root animation, this would be especially handy for things like player type vehicles. Not having to create 52 animation entities for a none animated vehicle would be NICE.
  • Much of the same as the first one. Creating a decal that wraps around the torso, changing the current textures from a 512x512 to something such as 512x1024 and using the free space as the back decal and sides.

Add-Ons / [Vehicle] Blocko Jet Ski
« on: September 13, 2013, 01:27:46 PM »
Blocko Jet Ski

Description: 2 Seated Jet Ski that visually looks like it was made out of blocks, goes about x2-x3 faster than the Rowboat and can do Jumps.

Developers Note: Jet Ski will slide forever if its moving onto a flat piece of ground, it was a trade off to being able to do ramp jumps.

Add-Ons / [Vehicle] Star Wars Snow Speeder v1
« on: September 12, 2013, 10:32:26 AM »
Snow Speeder

Description: 2 Seated flying vehicle from Star Wars (Lego set), doesn't require any other add-on to function. Main white is paint-able and the weapons go pew.

Final Version, added weapons to the front and fixed a ton of small visual errors and left one major one in because it looks good. Side note I have no added any weapon to the rear seat as the said position could just as easy support someone holding a gun or desired tool.

Modification Help / Packer's Downtime [3ds max?]
« on: September 11, 2013, 06:14:05 PM »
So randomly decided to work on something because I haven't in a looong time. Still got things to fix and what not, don't ask when I'll be releasing because I don't know. I've gotten it in game and doing some basic things, for some reason collision is an issue and I've been out of the loop so long I'm wondering if its due to the new level. I hope to get it firing, so I just need to do a bit of research on such mechanics.

Does anyone have a link to a working DTS exporter that is the correct version for Blockland / correct DTS version? And while on that subject what version of 3ds max is used, I believe its 2009 but I cannot remember.

Also does anyone have and good information or link to getting turrets mounted to vehicles?

Been a long time since I've started any thread, let alone been on this forum. So what have people been up to.

Let me rephrase this, what have people been up to in the past 3 years.

Games / Play my 48 Hour Game: Steam Tank
« on: September 14, 2012, 12:45:23 PM »
Last weekend I entered with 2 programmers into a 48 hour challenge, we had to make a game where 3 shapes were the core mechanic used in gameplay. So we created a tank game where rather then shooting you use the geometry of the 3 shapes to build your weapons on your tank. The idea is that you use shapes to break off shapes on enemy tanks then you hit their main bare tank to destroy it.

Currently entered in a competition, you can vote for us if you like (Steam Tank). Link below to the game!

Yo dawg I heard you like games and stuffe, so we started iFest in Australia and now its in USA. Basically its like GDC except a hell of a lot less speakers and events (+Free). This weekend on Sunday in the capital iFest we've got Trip Hawkins speaking, in Seattle Gabe Newel had attended as well. Pretty cool stuff, I remember attending the very first one last year... actually now that I think of it I was working there. Its all setup by the guy who owns AIE/Micro Forte/Big World, although it may not be as interesting to you people in Australia all we had was GCAP before this.

Gallery / Tri-Monitor Blockland
« on: May 20, 2012, 11:30:17 PM »
So today I got my GTX 590 which natively supports my x3 1080p monitors, needless to say I've been trying it out on EVERYTHING. With that said this is what Blockland looks like across 3 screen, the camera feels very zoomed and if you alt tab then you can't get back into Blockland as only 1 screen will reappear.

Images are in links for you safety.

Off Topic / Need Replacement GPU's
« on: May 02, 2012, 06:26:32 AM »
Currently have 2 Nvidia 9800GT's in my computer and I wanted to upgrade to something more powerful that is Nvidia. I'm also needed a lot of Video memory, currently got 1GB in each card and would like equivalent or better. Preferably something that supports Tri-gaming rigs, IE really wide resolutions but not essential. I do a lot of rendering so CUBA supported stuff is great.

My current Specs are:
Direct X Support: 10 (would like higher)
CUBA Cores: 112
Core Clock: 600MHz
Shader clock: 1500 MHz
Memory clock: 900 MHz (180 MHz data rate)
Total Available graphics... : 3834 MB
Dedicated video memory: 1024 GDDR3
Shared system memory: 2810 MB
Bus: PCI Express x16 Gen2

Finally got some pusillanimous individual... named Meeka.

Pretty average cat other then she bites when she's being a bit too playful. Only had her here for about 12 hours and she already is settling in pretty well.

PS shes going to loving kill me in my sleep.

Games / Packers Place
« on: April 10, 2012, 07:37:14 AM »
Packers Place
Packers Place is what I call all of my servers on games, I'm creating this topic as a hub to all of my random servers
that I host to let people know about them. Most of the time they're only up for 2-3 hours but this is usually
because they're so many of us online at that time and get bored of it shortly afterwards.

Steam Group:
Used for Voice Chat as well as communication. If you're in the group you'll get updates on what server is live.

This isn't the only games I host but the major ones most people have,
You can get  Arma II Free via the ARMA II page as the demo, I own the full version which allows me to host.

IP will change, sometimes I'll just say join via Steam group.
