Games / Saints Row IV coming out tonight at 12am
« on: August 19, 2013, 12:21:23 PM »
Just thought I'd start up a bit of discussion about the game for those of us who are excited for its release.

I've prepurchased and downloaded the game already so I can start playing as soon as possible.

I downloaded the demo thing that lets you make your character prerelease and I'm loving around with it now.

You can change the pitch level on all of the voice options, allowing for some funny voices. I changed a couple of the female voices to be really deep pitched and they just sound like sassy guy voices.

But yeah I've been waiting for this game to come out and I'm really excited to play it. I haven't really read much about the game but I heard it has like a matrix storyline and when you are using the superpower stuff you are in the matrix.

Off Topic / Dreams
« on: January 04, 2013, 08:13:03 AM »
We've had plenty of dream threads before but they never seem to stick.
SO discuss dreams and stuff.

I just woke up from a terrifying dream in which I cut my own richard off. I ended up growing a vag in its absence. The dream ended with me getting my richard placed back on, which I had conveniently been carrying around with me.
Also I was on vacation in the dream, we were staying at a hotel.
My richard still feels weird like its not their.

I'm pretty sure I can owe how real this dream felt to those Alpha Brain pills I took.

Games / Farcry 3
« on: December 26, 2012, 10:20:57 AM »
This game is amazing, I wanted to get it cause I thought it looked alright, but when i started playing I was thankfully surprised.

This definitely wins for my game of the year. Both the single player and coop multiplayer are awesome. Me and a couple friends stayed up till like 2 in the morning playing the coop when we weren't really even planning on playing for long.
The single player is really cool and the island is loving beautiful. The characters you meet in the game all have a rich personality,  Vaas is especially hilarious and crazy. I can see myself pouring hours into this just exploring underwater caves and hunting down animals.
I haven't tried any of the competitive multiplayer, but I imagine its fun, though judging by how great the single player and coop modes are, the competitive multi is probably lacking in some areas, which is understandable. I don't normally like competitive multiplayer games anyway.

The Farcry series is one that has flown under my radar up until now, and I'm glad that I've found and embraced this game.

Discuss this great game.

Off Topic / anyone else just wake up to snow on the ground?
« on: November 27, 2012, 05:29:00 AM »
I just woke up and looked out my bathroom window as I took a piss to see it was snowing.
Sadly not of my classes are cancelled so I still have to drive through it to school, but its not too bad.

Anyone else have snow? I'm super excited because I got so little snow last year.

Off Topic / My history essay and fallout 3
« on: November 25, 2012, 07:01:27 PM »
So for my History class I have to write an 8 page book review on Ovid L. Futch's History of Andersonville Prison.

The books about a confederate civil war prison and one of the chapters in the book is on the raiders.

What happened at the prison, which is pretty much a post apocalyptic hell hole, was a bunch of the prisoners grouped up to steal and kill other prisoners and they were called the Raiders.
Now, that alone doesn't necessarily directly correlate Fallout 3 to the prison, but there was also a group of prisoners that tried to fight against them called the regulators.
The "good guys" who roam the wasteland in fallout 3 killing bad people are also called the regulators.

So yeah, I just thought i was cool that Bethesda seems to have done a little research on that stuff and felt I needed to share it.

I almost want to throw a mention of the game in my essay somehow, but that totally wouldn't fly in a college course.

Off Topic / What would you do in a talent show?
« on: October 20, 2012, 12:28:08 PM »
Personally I really don't have any talents. I just sit at my computer all day playing games that I'm not good at.
I'm going to college for comp. science, so I have that, but all I can do right now is basic java coding that anyone could learn if they wanted to.

So yeah, what can you do?

Off Topic / Should I ... or ...? game/serious topic
« on: October 08, 2012, 02:54:00 PM »
basically you just ask if you should do one thing or another the next post answers and asks a question of their own/

you can take it seriously and actually ask about things you are considering doing or just have fun with it.

ex.
person 1: "Should I stay home or go see a movie?"

person 2: "stay home
                Should I....?"

I'll start with a serious one which is the main reason I made this topic:

Should I watch Hot Tub Time Machine or Big Lebowski?

Games / playing a pokemon game, deciding between two
« on: September 10, 2012, 01:27:14 PM »
I'm not sure if I want to play emerald version or fire red

which should I go with? I've played through the original blue version(in place of fire red) and emerald before, so I've pretty much already experienced them both before.

I've only ever beat pokemon blue a long time ago and my brother helped me beat the final four, I feel ashamed that I've never beaten a pokemon game on my own and want to change that.

Off Topic / the 90s nostalgia
« on: September 02, 2012, 08:00:12 PM »
The past couple weeks I've been nostalgasming about 90s stuff, which I shouldn't really remember as I don't have any actual memories from the 90s (born December 1993).

The main thing I've been thinking about is 90s music. I've been loving jamming to 90s alternative rock so much lately. I've also listened to some early 90s rap and played some of my old computer games.

So yeah, those of us old enough to have nostalgia about the 90s, discuss.

food for thought: some motherloving tubthumping

Games / mass effect discussion until this thread dies I guess
« on: September 01, 2012, 07:27:23 AM »
don't really feel like locking this unless someone wants me to

ME3 is only $20 on origin right now and I've been waiting for a sale to buy it.
So I'm buying it and I want to plat through the series in one go. I can't decide if I want to be good or evil.
I normally go renegade as it makes me feel more like a badass but I don't know whether I want to switch it up or not.

Also save all your bullstuff about the ME3 ending and other stuff for another thread, I just want advice on whether paragon or renegade would make this a better experience.

Games / Games like Sid Meier's pirates?
« on: August 29, 2012, 04:23:01 PM »
Anyone know of any good games with similar mechanics to Pirates?
I really enjoy that came but I'd like to try more like it.

« on: August 08, 2012, 06:47:49 AM »
-link removed due to brief seconds of nudity- just go look it up on youtube

It's a movie about an underground ddr-like game scene. The game in the movie is called beat beat and the characters take it way too seriously and other stuff.

if its old or something, whatever, I only learned of it recently through jesse cox

"it's the end of days out there jtro!"

Off Topic / Concert Discussion
« on: August 04, 2012, 02:11:56 PM »
So I figured we could use a topic to discuss concerts that we've been to, are going to, have performed in, etc.

I've only been to a couple of concerts in my life. My first concert was the Steve Miller Band and the Doobie brothers years ago. My most recent concert was to see the Fab Four(the best Beatles tribute band out there) at the Mountain Laurel center, which is like 15 minutes away from my house in the middle of nowhere. The concert was loving empty but they played really well, I honestly wouldn't have been able to tell the difference between a recording of them and the beatles on a lot of the songs they played.

And then on December 8th I'm going to see the loving Who perform quadrophenia which I am super excited about. The who is my absolute favorite band and a lot of my favorite songs are from that album. I actually have a bit of a fear for large, noisy crowds but I'll loving fight it to see the who, this'll probably be daltrey and townshend's final tour.

I think I'm also going to see the eagles sometime soon, but I don't remember if that was final or not.
oh and I saw a free eagles tribute band concert this past weekend while I was in wildwood.

so yeah discuss concerts and stuff
