AoT Clan Discussion / Age of Time Clans, Completely dead
« on: January 09, 2010, 01:37:37 AM »
Can one remember clans such as the feared penguin gang, with their leader MikeD?  Or the the notoriously nooby Cop Killers, with their leader Tyler.  How about MoA? With their rather democratic leadership by having members vote, to see if an applicant could join.

These clans, have no presence today.  Most of their old members left AoT long ago, and haven't been heard from or back since.  My question is why clans cannot survive the test of time.  Some lasted longer than others yes, however in the end, I haven't noticed any clan presence while being back to Age of Time for a little over a month.

- Is it that there is only so much to do in Age of Time?  A clan's fuel must inevitably run out, based on the shear incompleteness of the game which drew members into playing in the first place?

- Or perhaps the leadership tactics were not strong enough.  Their chain of command collapsed in itself.  Members who wanted more wealth, and power drew their own clan to its very destruction?

- To many members slowly became disinterested in Age of Time, due to the lack of things to do?

^I believe all of the above points are bogus. ^

I believe clans died, because clans didn't have other clans to have rivalry's with.  What fuels a clan, apart from benefits, community and friendship?  Being better than the other clan.  By showing your clan has the upper hand, it engages the members.  Also the possibility of having something to gain or lose, such as the most precious gold.

Most clans at one point faced no rivals, no competition, which although may have seemed good for a while, it was indeed their greatest downfall.

Why'd I post this topic?  I want to clans come back to Age of Time.  The start of a clan based community involves multiple clans being created in order for the community to keep sustaining itself.

However I don't expect this to change anything.  The only thing that will happen is I'll have people telling me Age of Time is dead or AoT is completely derailed.  However if you go on at the right times, you will certainly see there is still potential there.

AoT General / 2nd AoT Public Forum
« on: January 09, 2010, 12:30:36 AM »
Howdy,
Once again I come before you with the proposition of a second public forum.  This forum would be on January 9th at 12:00PM Eastern, that's 5:00PM GMT.  If you need to calculate what time that'll be for you, there is a Timezone converter posted below.

http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc

When I hosted the first forum, I wasn't as knowledgeable of the community on AoT as I am today.  I believe many good things can come from this, however we'll need your cooperation if any of it is to go through.

This forum will mainly be a continuation of the last forum, many of the topics discussed before will be brought up again, this time with the hope of finding points of agreement.  Topics will include.

Elections - Why they never took place, and what you needs to be done before they happen.

Jobs - Want a job?  I guarantee you can find one at the forum.

Declaring Citizenship - See how you can benefit by becoming a "citizen" of a town.

And much more.

Hope to see you there!

AoT General / 1st AoT Public Forum
« on: December 27, 2009, 10:46:41 PM »
Howdy there,
As we all know Age of Time has a diminishing community, many of the old players who played it do not find interest in it anymore, and new players find no interest because of the lack of people who play it or online regularly.  If there was more organization in the game, it may be more fun for those who play it.  I have come to realize the disorganization of the whole game, and found a possible solution.

I hereby announce the first Public forum, taking place in Port town.  Where players can express their views on current Age of Time issues such as...

Value of Items - There is no set value on any of the items, people simply waste their gold by paying the shop the required money to put their item for sale.  What should be done about this, it is possible to discuss or suggest values of items.

Current powerful players - Players who have the most items, and influence over other players due to their wealth, and prior dealings.  The forum would talk about who has the most, and how they can help you become richer as well.

New players - Encourage them to play, remember, you can always benefit from having a buddy, especially in Age of Time, where you have to trust the person isn't going to blow you up or rob you.  Discuss how you can encourage new players to get interested in the game.

And much more...

This forum will take place on the 30th of December, at 12:00AM Eastern time, and again at 12:00PM Eastern on the same day.
You can find out what time you will need to be on using this Timezone converter provided below.

I hope to see many there!
