By reading this sentence you agree and swear to pre-order Brink on any console or OS from any of the 6 later-mentioned retailers.Change How You PlayThere's a really nice character customization - Imagine TF2, where the lighter classes (Scout, for example) are fast, but have weaker weapons and health than the
Heavier classes. You can choose what kind of game you want to play, as in, you can pick if you want your character to be able to climb higher, run faster, and be stealthier, or if you want him to be slower and not climb as fast, but have huge weapons. And there's also a class somewhere between, if you don't prefer either way. Also within character customization, you can add tattoos, change guns and attachments, change facial features, voice, wristbands, and many other aspects of your character's look.
Be SMARTBethesda's integrated a new system of movement, too. You know in a game like Call of Duty or Battlefield, if a table were to be
just that much too high for the "climb" option, you can't go over it, right? Well in Brink, you [/i]will[/i] be able to. The system's called SMART (Smooth Movement Across Random Terrain), and is bound to just one button. If you were to aim above the aforementioned table and press the SMART button, you would vault over and on to it. If you aimed under the table and pressed the SMART button, you would slide under it. Now, I know what you're thinking; "I've seen this before. I just go into an animation where I can't do anything but watch it, and I'll probably get killed because of that." Nope, no canned animations. You can shoot and look freely as you jump over that table or dive behind cover. A quote from Brink's website: "SMART dynamically evaluates where you're trying to get to or what you're trying to do, and makes it happen: vaulting, mantling, climbing, sliding, and even seeking cover"
Pick a ClassThere are also specific classes. While I mentioned the character customization's weight system, you can play four specific classes. The Soldier, being the front-lines, gunner type class; the Medic, which should be pretty self-explanitory; the Engineer, much like the TF2 engineer, can build sentry turrets and the like; or the Operative, essentially the Spy, being able to hack enemy equipment, grab intelligence, and get behind enemy lines. Because different classes
are different classes, they each will have different objectives throughout the gameplay. This means that not every soldier, medic, engineer, and operative will be running toward a capture point at the same time. An engineer may be told to create defenses while soldiers work on moving up the front line, and operatives sneak past to interrogate a downed enemy for information. Objectives aren't only class-specific, though; You may be told, as a soldier, to go find a medic because your health is low, as opposed to running out onto the point and dying almost instantly. You can also choose what objective you want to work on doing; you will get a choice of a few things to do at every point in the game.
