Dirty Bomb takes features from a lot of different games, to sum it up the game is Brink Counter Fortress 2: Enemy Territory
What I mean is the game that this was mostly based off Brink (Also made by Splash Damage), it takes the aiming system and weapon weight system from Counter Strike, it takes class based gameplay from TF and I don't remember how Enemy Territory is involved, but people have told me it is.
The game uses objectives to get things done, not like just plant c4, it's an order of things, like plant c4, escort an EV and deliver EMP charges, and this leads to some interesting varied gameplay unlike a lot of other things you play today (COUGH COD)

Now you may be saying
BUT WAIT IT'S F2P, THAT MUST MEAN P2W!, but actually in reality, not in the slightest.
The game revolves around Mercs and Loadout Cards, all are technically free, but you COULD buy them, in about 5 hours of non-stop gameplay, you could probably have enough credits to buy a Merc and a few cases (where you get Loadout Cards) Also a little side note, the second of the two Mercs the game gives you at the start is one of the most OP in the game, so nobody can really get ahead with the Mercs they bought.
There are also free Merc rotations, meaning that 3 mercs every week(?) will be free to use, so you may not even ever have to get any Mercs, and just live off the free rotations
The Loadout Cards work in a ranking pattern, anything above bronze only looks cooler, you get no other special abilities.
Little other note, Obsidian has now been replaced by Cobalt, and Obsidian is a limited time thing(?)
As of now there are () Mercs and counting, below is all of them so far
(Sorry for the crappy screen cap, if anybody can get me a better picture please do)
Mercs that are not in the game/removed:
Thunder (?)
Pheonix (Not in yet)
Stoker (?)
Turtle (Shown in latest trailer so ?)
Aimee (Removed due to major imbalance)
Red Eye (?)
MY PERSONAL NOTES (Biased)
The trailers of Dirty Bomb make it look all 'edgy' and 'cool', while the devs of the game made it hilarious and to not take itself seriously, so I think Nexon made the trailers, and Splash Damage made the game (well they did make the game) so before you think it's just another game taking itself to seriously, read this quote from a Merc: "I do Crowd Control. I'm like a traffic cop. Just with a machine gun. And grenades. And I don't give out tickets, I…you know what, bad brown townogy." (
Link) but see? Nothing about this game takes itself seriously.
Now my personal review9/10This game is the most fun I have had playing anything in years, no joke. The pacing to the character depth (even though there's no story) makes the game just great, the balancing has a few issues here and there, but thats more a skill level thing, not a 'one character is so OP you can't defeat them no matter what' kind of thing but enough to make the game a little unfair at times. For people that say this game is hacked more often than not, that's not the case, Iv'e only seen one person who could possibly be hacking, and that was in competitive, they were in the top 1000 people about, so they were probably just MLG PRO 420 BLAZE IT. The Mercs are all very individual and very fun to play, every Merc has a strength and a weakness (unlike goddamn spies in TF2) now minus like -.1 for originality for some of the Mercs, Bushwhacker is Engi, Vasilli is Sniper, even to the accents and place of origin, but all the other characters are pretty original (Sparks being the most original) The game is in it's own weird undifined category of games, it's not COD (Thank god) it's not TF2, it's not CS:Whatever, it's not Brink, but it has many ideas taken from them (Splash Damage is the new
Apple?!) The devs have a devotion to this game, they are putting out updates and fixes about every week, so new content is not uncommon (unlike pretty much every game ever)
Protip: Don't use Kira, you'll be stuck using her forever like me, she's a pane of loving glass.
STILL WORKING ON TOPIC JUST UPDATING SLOWLY
