Sad. CIA seems to have also claimed responsibility, but the Egyptian government says there is no indication it was shot down.

Off Topic / Help - Steam still says I'm playing Bad Rats
« on: October 25, 2015, 07:34:08 PM »

Okay what the forget is going on. I was running Bad Rats in the background as a joke, and when I went back into the game to shut it off, it froze. I went into Task Manager but Bad Rats being stuck took up the whole screen so I couldn't use TM. So I signed out and signed back in on the computer, which I usually do when this kind of thing happens on games like Fallout. Went back into Steam, still says I'm in Bad Rats. I figured "oh, it must be running as a background process." Nope, doesn't show up in that TM list. I look in the Details tab, and Rats.exe shows up there. Right-click, end task, yes..."Access is denied."
Can anyone here help me with this? I'm using Windows 10 by the way.
of all the games for this to happen to it was loving bad rats

Seriously, I don't get that. There's a big circlejerk going around the Internet (primarily Reddit) about how everyone should avoid learning about killers like Chris Harper-Mercer or Vester Lee Flanagan because it will "give them the attention they want." I have always found this incredibly stupid and because of the recent shooting in Oregon this circlejerk has been flared up again. You are going to find out about him one way or another.  I recently made a post on Reddit that mentioned the shooter's name and someone actually told me to remove his name from the post. Come the forget on. It's also pretty funny in that Reddit also had the big circlejerk about net neutrality and censorship a few months ago. Is straight up telling people to not post names (that will probably be forgotten in a few months' time anyway) not censorship?
Also, Chris Harper-Mercer is dead. He's not receiving any attention in afterlife. FFS.

Off Topic / Rant: Political correctness, DEVO, privacy, and more
« on: September 15, 2015, 09:21:55 PM »
Something that I've been meaning to vent about recently is all these politically correct richardweeds lashing out at Gerald Casale (founding member of DEVO, who I am a huge fan of) for having a 9/11 themed wedding. The reception for him and his new wife Krista Napp included a Twin Towers cake and box cutter party favors. This was all on the 14th anniversary of 9/11 and now thousands of people who have no idea what DEVO is or what they stand for are screaming at Jerry because pictures of the cake and favors got leaked online by everybody's favorite celebrity privacy invader, TMZ.

The creme dela creme here is that Casale said that he didn't even INTEND for the ceremony to have 9/11 themes, because a friend of his said that he would take care of the cake and brought it there as a surprise because of the macabreness of Jerry and Krista getting married on that date. It's ridiculous how offended people can get at something like this. If you want to be offended, go watch some Moonman or read up what people say every day about how 9/11 was small in comparison to the millions of innocents killed in the Middle East over something they never did; don't go bashing a guy for having something unintended occur to him on him and his lover's special day.

For that matter, the wedding was private in the first place. Only about 10 people or so were invited to it, so one of Jerry's (presumably) closest friends took pictures of the cake and favors and sold them to TMZ to spread everywhere. It's absolutely ridiculous how little privacy celebrities have. This was supposed to be Jerry and his lover's special day, and they made it private, but no, one of his friends had to go and absolutely ruin it by selling it to the company that has the least respect for ethics and privacy of celebrities everywhere. The two's honeymoon is practically destroyed now.

But DEVO was always about de-evolution and the dumbing down of society. Perhaps this is all just a fine example of it.

Off Topic / 2 Truths, 1 Lie v999
« on: September 06, 2015, 01:24:08 PM »
Haven't seen one of these threads in a while. If you don't know how this works, basically you say 3 things about yourself and one of them is a lie. The person below you has to guess which one is the lie. Also, don't do posts that are only "yep" or "nope" when responding to the guesser. Either edit your original post or come up with another three.

1. My middle name is Henry.
2. I once shoved a person down a flight of stairs and got away with it.
3. My favorite color is olive green.
