Off Topic / My School is Dedicating a Whole School Day to the Upcoming Eclipse

So on Monday, my ENTIRE school will be learning about the eclipse coming up. And for the last two hours (or periods if you call it that), we'll be going out to our football field to see it happen. We'll be receiving free glasses as well to see it without, you know, burning our eyes out. What do you guys think of this?

I'm not really an audiophile, but I figured if I wanted better sound that I should get a DAC/AMP. I'm currently looking at a 2nd gen Focusrite Scarlett Solo, but was wondering if you guys had any other suggestions for under $100.

Off Topic / New AMD PC Locking Up After BIOS Screen

Just bought a new Ryzen CPU and installed my main SSD with Windows 10 on it, and now it just locks up after showing the spinning dots for half a second. Not sure what to do other than reinstall Windows which I can't do since I can't exactly shovel another $100 for an operating system and can't get the current key I have. Does anyone have any idea what to do?

Basically, who do you think makes the best power supply for computers? I personally think Seasonic makes the best power supplies below $100 and EVGA makes the best "high-end" power supplies.

Off Topic / Which Processor Should I Choose?

I'm looking to buy AMD's Ryzen, and I'm not sure if I should get the R5 1500x or 1600. I can afford the 1600, but I'm not quite sure I need it. I'm not doing any video editing related tasks, only games. I do run Discord, Chrome, and Spotify in the background though. I probably won't be buying another processor until 2020 btw.

Off Topic / Why do people keep bashing AMD's new GPU currently?

Every single video I have seen about the Frontier Edition of AMD's latest GPU has just been bashing it in benchmarks (that aren't even professional type work loads) because it can't keep up with a GTX 1080. AMD has gone on record multiple times saying "this isnt a gaming gpu," "we'll unveil the gaming ones at the end of the month" and yet people are just like "lol it costs over $1000 and cant keep up with a 1080 bad card dont buy ecks dee." Sorry if I sound like a raging AMD fanboy or something, but its getting really annoying that people are judging Vega in games before it's even had a big consumer release.

I need a image file viewer that can open the .ico file format. Be kind of nice to have a VLC like program that views images instead of video.

Off Topic / I have a permissions issue with Windows 10?

Im trying to drag a file from Google Images to my desktop but I keep getting an error saying "Access is denied." I looked at the permissions and it says I have full control and such but I still cannot drag files to my desktop from Chrome in general and every time I move a file from my desktop to a separate folder I have to give administrator access. No idea how this happened or when but it just kind of... did.

Is it worth it to buy it without the DLC? I've heard a LOT of good things about the game and i plan to buy it sometime and was just wondering if its worth the 7 extra bucks over the base game to get the complete version.

I'm looking at picking up a Ryzen 5 1600, and I would like to keep it for like ~4 years. I was wondering if there was any motherboards that aren't made of cheap-o stuff or have a flimsy PCB. Anything below $200 preferably? Chipset doesn't matter as long as its not A320.
