This is all it was

good or bad, this is what it was. and there was no ads back then so people did this out of pure desire, which is baffling

Remember that really cool unity tech demo back in 2016? I thought the Chapter 1 was just for show but in fact Neil Blomkamp's Oats Studios have picked up the series and have produced Part 2:

Love the worldbuilding in this series, but above all else the robot designs are real cool, almost give me a FROM software vibe. Give it a watch.

Off Topic / Freaky Animorphs Thoughts
« on: May 28, 2017, 05:25:30 PM »
I first read animorphs in Fifth grade, and now, 11 years later, I still occasionally stay up at night wondering about the implications of Clothed Morphing

As we all know, in K.A Applegate's seminal body-horror children's series, radical teens turn into animals and stop freaky deaky aliens from assimilating their parents. Yeah, yeah, Par for the forgetin' course. But you only gotta look at the cover of those books to note that said teens are morphing into animals with their clothes on. Regardless of their osh gosh galoshes, these kids assume the form of an animal, an UN CLOTHED animal. To which i can only assume, they incorporate their clothes/necklaces/etc. into their new animalian form, and not only that, later re-construct said clothes when they morph back. If you really think about this stuff, it's bonkers.

First off, how the forget?? I can believe being able to biologically rewrite yourself, because all life spawned from the same source, but inanimate objects?? It's presumed the Andelites have this innate morphing ability, so clearly it's not just fairy tale bippidy boppidy magic, and that only makes things more nutso.

Here's a question - If i morphed into a weasel, and then morphed back into my classically handsome self, would my Galaxy s6 still work?  I have no knowledge how the thing works, and its internal components are so incongruous to my biological makeup, would I really be able to piece it back together when it was previously a weasel's kidney? The problem is all these books were written in the 90's, when kids didn't have stuff it in their pockets, so i'm at a loss here!

Also, what's the upper bound?? I won't even get into the whole conservation of matter conundrum that is turning a 5'3 cheerleader into a 2 ton elephant, but say I construct a pair of blue jeans with pockets that are big enough to each contain a small office, each containing your standard array of office supplies, and also 2 D-class temp workers. If i then morph into a rabbit, and then unmorph, could i realistically re-create each office, and also, would the people i recreate really be the same, or would they be doppelgangers?

forget. Thoughts?

« on: November 15, 2016, 10:36:24 PM »
hey it's me, iunno if you guys remember me, i used to have a funny avatar and made terrain builds. anyways i got a crappy job doing dishes and i've been lonely so i thought i'd post here again.

what have you guys been listening to recently, i got a select few tracks:

Koala's Lament by Lovage- this song is smooth as hell, makes you want to drink merlot and make love to old widowers. produced by dan nakamura who also produced the legendary Deltron 3030, so check him out.

Twin Peaks Theme by Fantômas - some dude i know who abuses a lot of prescription drugs told me to listen to this and mr bungle, and this song is DARK. i guess this is experimental rock? anyway it's sick, and the album is also cool as heck.

Trampoline by Kero Kero Bonito - watch OUT dudes cus this song is bubblegum and forgetin hello kitty stickers but it SLAPS like an abusive relationship. cute as hell. i mean she's british and japanese, why you hating? i can hear you hating.

Space Program by A Tribe Called Quest - i mean does this even need an intro, radical album. this song is not only great but the hook is MARINARA(cus it's the sauce)

This City Made Us by the Protomen - god damn. mega-man inspired rock opera. makes me want to do wheelies and beat up drug dealers and SAVE NEO-TOKYO. it's dorky in the good way

anyways post some tunes, catch me up. also what's up with this master matthew guy?

INTERNATIONAL CAMEL APPRECIATION WEEK
OFFICIAL THEME

Quote from: Ethan the Great
So, the time has come, once again. That first day of January marks the beginning of the International Camel Appreciation Week.
Some say camels are mans best friend. They are super intelligent and can survive for 20 years on one drop of water. Show your love this week.

These brilliant animals need you!

Do i even need to brief you palookas on what week it is? Must i sound the chimes? It's the one and only Camel Appreciation Week 2016!

Camels - they can survive on a drop of water for three years, they can carry 15 tons of straw on their back, they even know Krav Maga! All of them! So don't forget with any of em! I'm talking to you Badger!

Adorn these complimentary camel avatars and maybe you'll finally fill that void in your soul, the one Sheila left.

Note: wearing camel avatars during the appreciation week grants immunity to being Harvested

« on: November 09, 2015, 09:49:52 PM »
so, electrk just did a marvelous thread simulator, and it finally inspired me to get off my ass and start working on my own simulator, but with a twist - one that goes through the eras!

i've made a google doc that shows all the lines i want read and who posted them originally. feel free to read any or all of em and send me the file, i'll choose which one fits the best

i've going by years so those lines are just 09 lines. please feel free to also give me suggestions for threads or things to be read or done in the video from 09 and other eras.

big thanks to swholli, electrk and maple for voicing so far

Games / favorite creepy/eerie/disturbing VGM?
« on: October 13, 2015, 11:24:33 PM »
just wondering, i think creepy videogame music is definitely missing from a lot of new horror games in favor of ambiance, and it's kinda sad cus a good creepy track can make something go from mundane to terrifying in a second. doesn't have to be horror genre

Hail the Nightmare

obligatory Giygas theme - how the forget was this in a lighthearted, quirky jrpg???

same goes for Cave of the Past

Amnesia Chase music

Playrooms, seriously who the forget composed this

Terror

the infamous HL2 Radio song

The Songbird

Soul Cairn

Sheol (Duress)

Off Topic / getting a smartphone tomorrow, any suggestions?
« on: September 26, 2015, 09:27:36 PM »
as title says, getting a smartphone for the first time in 7 years, and just wondering what you guys would suggest. I'm leaning towards a samsung galaxy just cus i've used em before and they seem quite sleek, but i've heard people say the s6 isn't much of an upgrade to the s5 or things similar. I'm open to any suggestions on model or make, though, so fire away.
