Off Topic / Louisiana Flooding

Yesterday and today there has been a lot of flooding in our parish, we had to evacuate my mom's house due to potential flooding luckily it was only 3 inches away from flooding our main house although it did creep into our "cottage" or secondary house.

There are some great TV Series out there, everyone has different views on shows though. Some of the shows in this topic might even be cringe-worthy to some of you.

Here is a metric ton of tv shows.


Doctor Who is just a great just show that has been going on for over 50 years.

"Doctor Who" is a classic science-fiction series with a cult following. The Doctor is called a "Time Lord," a time-traveling scientist from a far off planet, who travels through time and space in a shop known by the acronym TARDIS. A TARDIS is a machine that is larger on the inside than the outside and is supposed to change its appearance based on its surroundings. The Doctor is also able to evolve his biology, so he appears as many different people throughout the series. The Doctor loves Earth, so he makes many trips here to save the planet, or to enlist earthlings to help him with tasks in the galaxy.

The Flash (2014-)

At 11, Barry Allen's life changed completely when his mother died in a freak accident and his innocent father was convicted of her murder. Now a crime-scene investigator, his dedication to learn the truth about his mother's death drives him to follow up on every new scientific advancement and urban legend. When his latest obsession -- a particle accelerator heralded as a world-changing invention -- causes an explosion, it creates a freak storm and Barry is struck by lightning. He awakes from a coma nine months later with the power of superspeed. When he learns that others who have gained powers use them for evil, he dedicates himself to protecting the innocent, while still trying to solve the older mystery.

NCIS

Naval Criminal Investigative Service Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs leads a group of colorful personalities in investigating crimes -- ranging from murder and espionage to terrorism -- that have evidence connected to Navy and Marine Corps personnel. The team includes witty ex-homicide detective Anthony DiNozzo, quirky forensics specialist Abby Sciuto, and the brilliant -- if insecure -- Timothy McGee. Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard brings his vast experience in forensics into play to help solve cases.

Everybody Loves Raymond

Ray Barone is a successful sports writer and family man who deals with a brother and parents -- who happen to live across the street. Mom Marie loves to meddle in his life, while older brother Robert sometimes resents his success, and Dad Frank just makes comments and raids the fridge. Nevertheless, Ray manages to keep a bright outlook and a sense of humor, leaving the hard issues to his more-practical wife, Debra.

Impractical Jokers -- this might be a more cringy one, I personally like it because it can be refreshing to watch after a bunch of these illegal harmful pranks that there is a show that shows good harmless pranks.

This hidden-camera series follows four lifelong friends -- Brian "Q" Quinn, James "Murr" Murray, Joe Gatto and Sal Vulcano -- who take dares to an outrageous level. Since they were young, the quartet have challenged one another to do ridiculous dares in public. On the show, to find out who is best under pressure, the guys compete in awkward and outrageous hidden-camera hijinks. At the end of each episode, the loser must perform what is deemed to be the most-mortifying challenge yet.

Seinfeld

Four single friends -- comic Jerry Seinfeld, bungling George Costanza, frustrated working gal Elaine Benes and eccentric neighbor Cosmo Kramer -- deal with the absurdities of everyday life in New York City.

Several friends own Paddy's Pub, a neighborhood bar in Philadelphia, and try to find their way in the world of work and relationships. But often, they can't get out of their own way, leading to uncomfortable situations, which usually worsen before improving. The gang includes twin siblings Dennis and Sweet Dee Reynolds, along with their longtime friends, Charlie Kelly and Ronald "Mac" McDonald. Charlie lives with Frank, Dennis and Sweet Dee's father, who has left his cheating, money-grabbing wife in an attempt to redeem himself after a history of doing business with sketchy people.

"Apotheon is a heroic action game set within the vibrant world of Ancient Greek Mythology. Ascend Mount Olympus, wrestle the divine powers from the Pantheon of Gods, and save mankind."

This game has been out for about a year now, I just finished it. I really, really enjoyed it. If you are a fan of Ancient Greek history you'll really enjoy it, but it is still awesome if you don't. It has an interesting combat system for a 2D platformer, drag your mouse up for an overhead attack, drag it down for an underhand attack, and just click for a thrust. The ranged combat has a nice feeling too.

The art-style is really nice looking, and the audio work is done well too.

So this is my internet speed :

Not that bad right? This was also taken whilst some-one was using netflix in my house.

So why is it that when I join something like CS:GO that my ping fluctuates from 30 to 150 constantly causing me to rubberband? It is really annoying. I've been assuming that it was just my family using the bandwith with netflix and such, but the speedtest was taken when they were using the bandwith and the speed is fairly good.

Anyone have ideas on what's going on?

There was a topic on this in like 2008 or something, back when it was in early development. (This game is mostly done except for the Xen levels, but there is still a ton of awesome gameplay anyways)

Black Mesa is a HL1 remake in the source/half life 2 engine. It's on steam right now for $10.
I highly recommend this! It has great graphics and textures. It has all the same levels as half life 1 except a whole lot more detailed. You get to enjoy the half life 1 experience with the source engine physics and graphics. The music is absolutely stunning, I am fairly certain that the music is done by a man who work(ed) at valve on the half life games.







I currently am on, "On The Rail" chapter. I have really enjoyed the game so far, it does not feel like a mod. If you want reviews better than mine, check the steam reviews.

Wouldn't it be awesome to be immortal, or atleast live to be several thousands of years old? You could be just like The Doctor, Queen Elizabeth, Cosmo Cosma, Tom Bombadil, Genie (Aladdin), or even Betty White.

Although it would also be awful to outlive everyone you love and see countless people die, being left to be the last person alive.

This is a two-sided argument.
