« on: August 23, 2016, 09:32:46 AM »

screenshots are from a super smash bros brawl hack but these glitches happen in every other game i run in dolphin

my graphics settings:

(click for larger image)

these glitches only happen when i use direct3d 11. i don't like using opengl as emulation speed decreases a lot.
my graphics drivers are up-to-date.
i'm using the latest version of dolphin.

i can't for the life of me figure out what's wrong with it.
anyone know what i should do?

Off Topic / help me: my dog is acting unusual
« on: May 23, 2016, 02:05:57 AM »
greetings forum

yesterday my dog began acting out of the ordinary. he started by vomiting on my bedroom floor last night, then began acting clingy, as though he'd never met me or my family in his life and he believed we were his brand new owners. he didn't sleep at all last night, instead ran around and yelped at my mother and kept me and her awake the whole night. this morning, he's running around, still yelping and whining, though not necessarily at me. he stuff on the floor after his walk, something he hasn't done for years.
i'm home alone today, so there isn't much i can do. though he seems to have calmed down, no longer running around and whining, but i can still tell something is wrong with him

what should i do? i could try calling up the local vet but they might tell me to book an appointment, which i can't do right now

Games / Gameranger
« on: April 24, 2016, 01:09:31 PM »
https://www.gameranger.com/

gameranger is a program that allows you to play multiplayer games that have had their servers shut down, like star wars battlefront II or anything that used gamespy. You can easily host or join servers and get right in, as long as you have someone to play with

Games / any good exploration games?
« on: March 10, 2016, 04:23:02 AM »
essentially i'm looking for decent open-world exploration-heavy games for pc
preferably games where the player is given a map and placed in the middle of a large world, where they are free to walk around and look for secrets or similar
is there anything like that on steam right now?

Off Topic / help me: computer stopped booting without warning
« on: January 02, 2016, 02:56:57 PM »
from my tom's hardware thread that hasn't been replied to yet:

Quote
I purchased a custom built PC about a week ago, and it worked fine up until today, when it randomly slowed to a crawl and eventually froze. I restarted the machine and tried to launch startup repair as windows wouldn't boot, but it instead showed a blank screen. It now just shows this blank screen when the computer starts, after the prompt to open the boot menu. Everything is still running: the PC, keyboard, mouse and monitor are still on, but my monitor's screen is completely blank. I can't even access the menu to change the settings.

Specs according to the recipt of the store I bought the PC from:

INTEL BASED GAMING PC

INTEL CORE I5 2.76GHZ
6GB MEMORY
1TB HDD
2GB ATI AMD RADEON R9 270 VAPOR X OVERCLOCKED EDITION

DVD RW, WIRELESS LAN,

WINDOWS 7 64BIT

so if you know what the forget happened please tell me how to fix this because i don't want to be stuck using this crap laptop now

Off Topic / What's up with these Steam bots?
« on: November 03, 2015, 07:37:33 AM »
recently, i've been getting a lot of steam accounts adding me. they're always offline when i add them, but a few seconds later, they come back online for a split-second and remove me without saying anything, then go back offline. i've had 3, maybe 4 of these bots add me and do the exact same thing, and it's starting to creep me out.

the above image shows the profile of the last bot that added me. i've tried looking it up, but have found nothing relevant.
also note that none of the profiles are private.

anyone else had these add them?

Games / Issues with applying ROM hacks
« on: October 06, 2015, 04:54:08 AM »
I found a ROM hack for my copy of Super Mario World that I wanted to try out, but much to my dismay, I can't get it to work. I have followed instructions I found on a another site, and used LunarIPS to patch the ROM, but both ZSNES and SNES9x load a black screen with text reading "SPC700 STALL DETECTED". I have also tried renaming the hack's filename to the same one as the ROM and then running the ROM in ZSNES, but instead I get nothing more than a black screen.
Also note that I checked the ROM's header with NSRT, which is the same as the header required for the hack to work.

Any help?

Off Topic / Odd icons on my desktop?
« on: August 24, 2015, 04:28:28 PM »
Sometimes when I start my computer, there will be small icons on my shortcuts where there is supposed to be the shortcut icon, like this arrow:

This appears on every thumbnail on my desktop. The small icon also often changes; once it was a red cross, another time it was a gray circle and once it was a key. However, clicking the shortcut doesn't seem to do anything other than run the program it leads to. I'm running Windows 10.

I'd like to know what causes this.

Games / I'm looking for the name of a game
« on: July 22, 2015, 09:59:42 AM »
So I have this Playstation game which I would like to know the title of. A photo I took of the disk is below. As you can see, the title isn't printed on it.

I couldn't find the box the game came in, but I remember what it looked like. It was a coloured version of the art on the disk, also without a title. The little alien things at the side are orange, the UFOs are grey with gold wind-up keys and light blue beams projecting from the bottom of them, and the background is pure black.
I don't have my Playstation right now, so I can't play the game to see if a title screen comes up.

I remember bits of what the game was like. It was hard as forget, hence why I never made it past the first level, which was set in an Area 51-style army base. I played as a grey martian running around with a laser gun blasting what appeared to be police officers and the orange things from the box. That's about all I remember.

Any of you played this? It's really bugging me that I don't know what it's called.

Suggestions & Requests / Jousting
« on: June 27, 2015, 06:39:58 AM »
I was thinking a medieval jousting gamemode for BL, don't know if it has already been made.

Basically it's a two-player gamemode; both players ride towards each other wielding lances when the game starts. The player that's still alive after the clash wins.

Anybody know anything like that for Blockland?

Off Topic / I found a pretty weird forum
« on: June 09, 2015, 03:12:46 PM »
While browsing the web, I came across a forum, which I'm not going to link to because it's full of sketchy downloads. The weird thing about it though is that it's the only members that post there are bots with the names of users of the BLF. I counted bots with my username and the names of a few other accounts on this site. Just felt like sharing this because it's quite odd.

Again, the site is full of sketchy downloads so I'm not going to link to it, but I will post screenshots if you want.
