Love Live! School idol festival is a rhythm game released for iOS and Android, based on the Love Live! franchise. Players acquire a score in Live Mode, in which players tap circles at the proper time in order to receive a high score that can be placed on the leader board. The songs available in rhythm mode are songs featured in the anime. Depending on the player's results, they will receive new idol cards to add to their team, and can be leveled up and transformed by combining them with other idol cards. You scout for new cards that make your team stronger, better and cuter.
TL;DW Love Gem Earning
Idolize N/R cards, max bond, read side stories of max bond idolized cards. Play alot of songs and make sure to log in every day. Also play score matches, since they give you a bunch of love gems also. Log in on a member's birthday for 5 gems, maintenance also gives 5 gems/scouting tickets.

TL;DW Team Building Guide
Use auto formation for whatever attribute you're building a team on. The first 3 teams are for the main 3 attributes. The other 2 I use are healer/perfect lock and N teams. When you use Auto Formation, make sure you take into account the different coloured cards that will end up on the attribute team you selected. Compare their bond/raw stats to the next best card of the team attribute. Most of the time the other card will be better with bond. Max bond (250) adds 250 onto their raw stats. (if you're on JP/any other server it'll be called Kizuna instead of bond.) If the different coloured card is better than the other team attribute card, then just move it to the top of your member list. Same coloured attribute cards get bonuses, and usually there aren't many circles at the top. Set your highest rarity card as the leader. (don't use promo cards as your center though, their team leader skills are usually pretty bad)
Healer cards are the ones that restore stamina, and perfect lock are timing window skills. Most of the time you won't have enough cards to fill a team with these, so just stick with 2 N teams and 3 attribute teams. TL;DW Score Match Guide
Never let your LP sit at full. Most players will wake up in the middle of the night to play a few songs so they'll earn points, but it's okay if you want to sleep and take breaks. Make sure to play score matches throughout the day and spend your LP. The best way for points in a score match is Normal/Hard songs. If you absolutely cannot play normal, play easy. If you absolutely cannot play hard, play normal. Expert usually isn't worth the amount of LP spent since you get the same amount of score points as hard. Choose the right teams for whatever song is shown. You can dodge if there's a song that's too hard in the team select screen by force closing your app. You won't lose any LP and you can immediately play another song. In the lobby, whatever card you see is the one they have as their main team, meaning they didn't pick the wrong team or anything. At the start of an event, if you're aiming for tier 2 you should use 10-15 gems for refreshing your LP and playing more songs. For tier 1, use 15-20.
Basically just play as well as you can in score matches as often as possible. Extra thing about scouting, always save love gems for 10+1's and only scout during a SR guaranteed period. Unless you're rerolling accounts, try to stay away from solo scouts (5 gems).
