Games / osu! megathread v4 - 1xmiss is life

osu! megathread v4

osu! is a rhythm game for PC, iOS (osu!stream and a broken jailbroken port), and Android (unofficial ports). It has several modes, all with different methods of gameplay.

osu! mode is the basic mode of the game. Use a touchscreen, mouse, or tablet to slide your cursor across the screen and hit, slide, and spin notes.

Taiko mode is based off of another game called Taiko no Tatsujin (in Japan) or Taiko Drum Master (in USA). This mode does not require a mouse to play. Hit red or blue notes coming at you, drum on sliders, and destroy spinners to the end.

osu!mania is based on primarily Beatmania IIDX, but also on a variety of other games like Pump It Up, DDR, StepMania, or whatever game fits whatever amount of keys you use. Hit notes that fall from top to bottom.

Catch The Beat
Not based on anything afaik. Catch fruits falling from the top, and move left and right to get them.

The main motto of the game is "click the circles to the beat", but there are plenty of other ways to click those circles (click the picture to see a liveplay!):

Of course, there's tons of varieties within those playstyles (alternating/singletap, m1 + k1, anything works).

Join the discord and share all of those sweet sweet pp gains.

i've deleted the invite link for now, if you want in, send me a pm. (or click the image!)

the public is stunned:

Add-Ons / modter invisible faces fix
« on: October 08, 2014, 12:50:14 PM »
posting this for chrono since y'know

so you're going around placin modter and suddenly woah what the heck where did that face go???

the grinch must've eaten it or something

so this addon p much fixes that look wow grinch-away magic:

now, you may ask, wow where can i download this magnificent addon???????????
well unfortunately it replaces the vanilla modter files, which means that if you launch blockland with the launcher, it will get overwritten
this won't happen on the steam version or if you disable the launcher

so yeah, here it is:

yes i am aware this thread looks terrible but i'm awful at layouts :(
all credit goes to chrono he's the wizard that fixed it
i guess i could direct any questions to him but i don't know much myself sorry!

so i've looped a bunch of stuff in the past and i guess i should probably upload them here for once

sooo yeah

i looped these at like 5 am which is the only time i'd ever consider it a good idea

i actually have no clue what these songs are called so i'll just name them what i probably think they're called

and i can't even remenber where these two played: hamtarosong1 and hamtarosong4
if anyone could figure that out for me that'd be really lovey <3 (mirrors: hamtarosong1 and hamtarosong4)

EDIT: added mediafire mirrors, hopefully that's better
EDIT2: i'm doing megaman zero loops now, if anyone wants a specific mmz song i could probably try to loop it
unfortunately i'm not very reliable, but i'll try!

Games / Summer Games Done Quick
« on: June 24, 2014, 09:46:05 PM »
alright so i'm kinda surprised no one actually made a thread on this but here we go!

What is Games Done Quick?

Games Done Quick is a bi-annual charity gaming marathon. Volunteers play games at incredible speed ("Speedrunning") for entertainment. The event is streamed live online, non-stop, and all donations go directly to the charity. This is the summer event, with a winter event every January ("Awesome Games Done Quick").

i may or may not have totally ripped that straight from the website

that's basically all there is to it! you get to watch runners speed the stuff outa games and all the hype that comes with it. it's pretty entertaining to watch if you ask me

you can watch it HERE

along with the stream there's of course the donating you can do

they managed to gather $1,031,189.00 over 28095 donations in AGDQ, which is absolutly insane and amazing! hopefully, we will go even higher in SGDQ!

all the money you donate goes to charity (in this case Doctors Without Borders), and you can include a message to it which MIGHT be read on the stream! which is pretty cool!

if you donate, you can put your money on bids for specific things in games like a certain character or something funky like that

you will also be added to any prize that might be going on at the time, assuming you donated enough to count on to it

you can check the bids/prizes and stuff here

incase you wanna look for that specific game you'd love to watch be run, or maybe look for when your favorite speedrunner will play a game, you can check out the schedule HERE

and uh, yeah
that's it!

hope you enjoy the stream, even though this might be a couple days late
there's still quite a lot of games to go!

i hope i didnt do a too awful job at making the topic, i'm not very good at formatting these things :(

WHEN???: ---

can't be bothered to update these anymore, thread's burried anyway

so i'm making this thread before this guy starts causing hype for no reason

he joined crown's cityrpg and straight off said this:

of course i was fairly suspicious so while that conversation went on, i did some searching on blid 11110, as it sounded odly familiar, and sure enough i found this: - ID 11110 - ooo o spooky storm coming

and a post from when the computermix-hack-whatever drama thing happened:

so i called him out on it, and he just said these last words before leaving which pretty much confirmed him being a troll for me:

so yea
PSA of the day: don't believe random people, even if they have trusted names

Suggestions & Requests / setprinttext that prints out VCE values
« on: May 15, 2014, 08:43:23 PM »
pretty much the title

not sure if this is the right board for this kind of stuff, but oh well

incase anyone doesn't know, setprinttext basically lets you, well, print out text into a string of print bricks.
unfortunately, this doesn't work with VCE variables

so i was hoping someone could look into it

setprinttext can be found at the RTB megadump i think

so yeah, if anyone did it or provided an alternative to it, that'd be wonderful <3

Drama / DragonBlade: spamming like a professional retard
« on: May 05, 2014, 08:59:39 AM »
sooooo i joined "R@NDOM's Sky Jumping!" aaaaand first thing i noticed was that the host had a custom chat mod
aaaand like custom chat mods usually do, they don't block the whole chat <formatting> thing
and of course, a moron decides to abuse this fact for stuffs n giggles! yay!

rather cringey, too
also the host's kinda dumb for even having that chat mod

Off Topic / Chile Earthquake 8.2M
« on: April 01, 2014, 08:31:45 PM »
well stuff.
quite the night i'm going to have

stuff's going down. we've received tsunami alerts and various alarms for evacuation, and its kinda worrying

i live next to the beach too so welp stuff
i wasn't actually hit by the earthquake itself though, but here's me hoping it doesnt murder me

couple of videos of the earthquake:

by the way this isnt april's fools

edit: i found this reddit post that sums it up nicely i guess
a bit under that post specifies suposed times where it'll hit
VALPARAISO 01/04/2014 22:42 corresponds to me, sort of. that's not much time left.

edit2: hi im not dead yay
i have no idea if the wave has actually hit though i'm not even looking at the news anymore
apparently there's been a bunch of fires and stuff at arica, which is really close to the epicenter
it was to be expected tho

General Discussion / Port's Surf
« on: March 25, 2014, 07:56:35 PM »
so i thought this needed a thread already so here we go(also i am not port, just making the thread for him)

yay we hav a logo now

Inspired by surf maps in games like Counter-Strike(NOTE: IT DOES NOT PLAY THE SAME AS THESE), this gamemode is based around bouncing off of ramps. At HIGH SPEEDS. It's kind of tricky at first, but you get the hang of it eventually. (i guess i'll make a video about it sometime)

Tracks are timed, so you can see how fast you can complete each one. Every time you complete a track, and/or beat your personal record (or the best time in the track!), you gain Dosh.
Dosh is used for purchasing trails (yes, trails! they're pretty cool) and hats, so you can show off how fabulous and almighty you are.

Enough about the gamemode, more about what tracks there are!

Spades, made by Port and Jack Noir

This is one of the original tracks. Simple and sweet.
Difficulty: Easy

Sand, made by FedoraEnthusiast69

This is one of the original tracks. Nice theme, and short.
Difficulty: Easy

Rainbow, made by FedoraEnthusiast69

This is one of the original tracks. This track is absolutly huge, and is also considered the hardest of them all. Expect tricky jumps!
Difficulty: HARD

Curve, made by ZSNO

Utilising ZSNO's curve ramps, it makes one heck of a fun map.
Difficulty: Medium

Chaos, made by Sentry

This track is nice and short.
Difficulty: Easy

Blue, made by FedoraEnthusiast69

This is one of the original tracks. It is very short, yet quite fun to get the best time on!
Difficulty: Easy

Unfortunately, this is a rather small list, but that's mostly why I'm posting this!

It would be very appreciated if new tracks were created! The only thing you need to use are modter ramps, and you can create your own! Only requirement would be to use default bricks, but this could change if it's worth it.

I'm also not that sure about the difficulty of the tracks, because I don't seem to agree with most people about it. I'll figure something out.

I'll add the records for the tracks eventually.

i wasn't very sure on the layout of this thread, but i hope it doesn't look too bad!

after playing blockland for over 5 years, i realised i was ready now
i could make the build that my whole life had been coming up to
it was time

after hours and hours of hard work and intense sweating i finally finished my glorious build

also comes with the most glorious interiors i have ever created:

what an amazing vista!

i conclude this was truly worth the dedication and buckets of sweat it required.
