Help / Server could not verify your Blockland ID
« on: October 31, 2015, 03:11:30 AM »
A lot of people know about this problem and it seems it has never been resolved. I made a topic about this over a month ago. I got plenty of advice but none of it seemed to work. Since the topic was forgotten I thought I'd make a new one with all of my information in a neater post.

Ok, so I had been using a Verizon hotspot to play Blockland with for a few years. I never had any issues with the connection. I know a hotspot is not considered a stable connection for joining servers, but that one never had stability problems. The only problem with Verizon was their high bills and data caps.
I recently switched to an unlimited data plan with an AT&T hotspot and I now can't play Blockland due to my ID not authenticating with the master server I guess. However, the welcome message still loads normally instead of the 'Offline mode (DNS failed)' message. It is definitely a problem with my internet because all of the computers in the house are coming up with this message. I also tried my other key, didn't work. I set up and static IP following a tutorial and that didn't help. I tried to set up a VPN connection since that apparently works, but I can't tell if I am actually connected to it or if it's working. I reinstalled Blockland, restarted my computer, and restarted my hotspot. I can connect to servers in a couple other games without any issues at all, but Blockland and Minecraft don't work.

Quote from: Badspot
The cause of this is most likely that your UDP and TCP traffic are being routed differently.  So you end up authenticating with one IP address, then connecting to servers with a different IP address.  Common causes of this include using a proxy or other anonymization tactic, or connecting via satellite or cellular network.
Right here in a similar help topic Badspot seemed to describe why this could be happening. AT&T would be a cellular network, so that could explain my issue. I messaged Badpsot about this politely and in detail but he isn't answering.

Any and all advice is very much appreciated. I really want to play Blockland. If you need any more information to help me diagnose the problem please ask.

Off Topic / Flying a plane today

My brother and I got flight lessons for our last birthdays and haven't used them yet. Now that it's only 2 days until my next birthday, I get to take to the skies. I only waited 363 days...

Pretty sure it's going to be a Cessna or something small and easy to handle. So wish me luck or whatever. If I stop posting all of the sudden just assume I crashed and died in the fiery remains of the plane.

Seriously though, anyone ever fly a plane?

Off Topic / So I have unlimited internet now
« on: September 19, 2015, 11:02:24 AM »
/title

I've been living on ~20Gbs per month from Verizon for a couple years now. It's extremely overpriced, very spotty, slow, it just sucks. I had to share it with my family and it only worked when my parents turned the hotspots on with their phones. I couldn't get online if they were not home. Before that I was using dial-up....luckily my dad accidently put a fence post through the underground cable.
I used to always bring my PS3 to my grandparent's house to get updates. I also had to use free WiFi at school, the library, or a restaurant if I wanted to update my tablet apps. I never use YouTube, or host public servers, etc.

Now my troubles are over

tl;dr I have faster unlimited internet now, what should I do?

And because this will turn into a speedtest thread anyway:

Not perfect but at least it's unlimited. If I brought the router in my room it might work better

Off Topic / Driver's Test Today
« on: August 05, 2015, 12:50:04 PM »
Hello blogland, I'm taking my driver's test this afternoon and getting my lisence. Tell me what to do and not to do. I know you guys love these threads.

The only part I might suck at is parallel parking. I practiced it yesterday but I'm kinda nervous about how I'll do during my test. Wish me luck!

Gallery / Apartment [Furnished!] [A bit image heavy]
« on: June 18, 2015, 05:34:25 PM »
This is my first gallery topic! I spent a few days building this little apartment. I think it turned out pretty well so I thought I'd share it with you guys. I turned shaders off 'cause it made it really dark and bad-looking inside.

This apartment is nestled on a 48x54 area, plus a roomy 8x28 porch. Perfect for two people! Let's take a look,

The kitchen

I think the banana holder looks pretty awesome. I actually used a minicity lightpole and a piece of pipe to make it.

The living room, notice the textured rug, awesome again. That TV cabinet thing is a whopping 92 bricks, not including the books and stuff I threw on top.

Wraparound couch.

The hallway, on the left we have the bathroom, straight ahead is a closet, and to the right we have the bedroom.

The bedroom

Each room features a register by the way

The walk-in closet connected to the bedroom, I decided to turn it into an office.

The closet, not many apartment dwellers have the privilege of owning a washer and dryer. Notice the coat hooks and umbrella box

The bathroom, half of it anyway

The bathroom closet has a vacuum on the left (I know it has two handles, it's the best I could do). That thing on the right is a plunger

The second room of the bathroom. The "books" on the lower shelf there are supposed to be towels

The porch

And best of all, they're stackable, just like Pringles!

Thanks for looking, leave any questions, comments, or donations. You may rate x/10 only if you give me a 10.

Edit: Credit for some of the furniture goes to Cool Blockhead!

Suggestions & Requests / That all prints mod?
« on: June 15, 2015, 06:23:40 PM »
There was an add-on I'd say that was made within the last year, I believe was server sided. It made it so every print you had activated would work on every type of print brick. I have been searching for it for a while now..

So yeah, I just left the doctor's office about half an hour ago. I went in to have to have a routine physical and everything was normal. I have lost 10 pounds since my last physical so the doc wanted me to take a blood test, no biggie. Well, when the nurse stuck me she got the vain perfectly but she wouldn't stop moving the needle around. She probably didn't even realize it because it was such little movements but it hurt like hell.
After I stood up and left the room the nurse and my dad were like, "Good job" and "Do you feel okay?" I felt fine. When we went to check out all of the sudden I felt like I was seriously going blind. I started getting tunnel vision and the room was fading away so I kinda groaned and told my dad. I found that it was really difficult to speak. So the nurse got me a chair and gave me some orange soda to get some sugar in me. It was like smelling salts after being unconscious, it made me feel a lot better. So then with my feet dangling around and my eyes closed they got me a wheelchair and made me lay down on a table...the scary part is I don't even remember being moved to a different room. My arms and legs were asleep, the pins and needles feeling. The doc and the nurses kept making comments about my face turning weird colors and stuff. After they checked my blood pressure a few times they let me leave and I feel okay now.

Creativity / Stippling?
« on: April 14, 2015, 09:28:37 PM »
For art class I had to do this thing called stippling where I draw a picture and make about a million dots with a Sharpie in different shade values...

Anyway I think it turned out pretty well and I was wondering if anyone else has done this before. I made a kind of rusty Renault logo for mine

The whole thing, it is a pretty good-sized piece of paper

Off Topic / Does anyone use MP3 players anymore?
« on: March 02, 2015, 08:32:17 PM »
I have this old MP3 player and I am thinking about selling it along with a bunch of other old stuff I have. I might list it on Craigslist or something but I have no idea what price I should ask for.

I found two of them on Amazon and they are really expensive. I'm trying to understand why since people don't use them now that iPods or regular phones are the popular option for listening to music.

Thoughts?

Off Topic / Looking for a New Tablet
« on: December 01, 2014, 08:04:41 PM »
Hi forums, I have decided to give you the privilege of asking for our advice on a new tablet. I want one for Christmas and I'm trying to find one that I like. The Windows Surface tablets with the detachable keyboards look really nice. The only problem is I need to probably stay under ~$150 if possible. Help is appreciated.

I want something kind of like this
