Hey folks, long time no see. Glad to be back with you beautiful bastards.

I’ve been heavily considering building a gaming PC more and more, so I figured this would be a good place to get some input. In short, I don’t plan on playing games very often, I’d just like to be able to play whenever and whatever without worrying about console generation. That being said, I would like to put a nice chunk of change into it because I would also like to be able to create music content on it. I have a budget of probably $900, hopefully with monitor included. Drop some suggestions for a brother.

Thanks in advance!

Off Topic / Share your family's war stories

I'm very interested in peoples' family war stories, so I encourage you all to share them. I don't have many myself, as my only relative that served in combat was my great-grandfather. He was a Lt. Col flight surgeon in the Pacific during WWII. He was shot down and my grandfather was only a child at the time, so I don't have any stories of him.

Share your stories. Any conflict, any nation, any type.

I forgot to tell you guys that I now work as a patient transporter at a major hospital in my city. Don't know if the whole AMA thing is still a meme or not but I'm doing it anyway. Ask away.

Hey guys

It's been a few months since I've stuck my nose around here and even longer ago since I've been heavily active. I've been under this alias for about 3-ish years now, but my original account got banned some time before this one. It's also the same as my in-game name: Ten Speed. A lot of y'all probably don't remember that account as my romp was somewhat short-lived, thank God. It was probably a solid 4 years ago lol. I was an incoming freshman then, and I'm now a senior. So yeah, I've done quite a bit of maturing since then. Just letting y'all know just in case I see you in-game even though it's been a hot minute since I've logged on haha. Feel free to share any fond memories you have from my original account. Or don't. I don't really care. Thanks for reading. Love y'all.

Off Topic / I made a music!

For my english final, we had to do a creative assessment demonstrating our knowledge of one of the books we read this semester. I chose to do a guitar instrumental so I didn't have to do a gay little picture or a dance or some stuff. I also wanted a challenge, as I've never written an instrumental before. So this song titled "The Sun II" is a song based on Albert Camus' The Stranger. I used musical techniques to evoke mental images and emotions to convey the themes and plot. It took me about three hours to record. Tell me what you guys think, I'm curious to hear feedback befoee I present tomorrow.

Off Topic / I need a Bob Wills song to play on guitar for a funeral
« on: April 24, 2017, 07:16:05 PM »
TL;DR- My great grandfather died last Thursday and I was hired by my grandma to learn some Bob Wills songs to play on his birthday, which would have been tomorrow. Instead, tomorrow is his funeral and I'm only going to play one song at his service. I need a good Bob Wills song to play on guitar. Go!

He and my great grandmother used to dance at clubs to Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys (he came to Oklahoma A LOT) back in the 40's. I know it would mean a lot to my grandma if I played a song there. The problem is that a song that is appropriate for a birthday party might not be appropriate or suited for a funeral. So, I call upon thee BLF. I'm looking for something not too upbeat but not too depressing either. I don't want to make light of his service but he and my great-grandma were also together for over 70 years.

Right now all I have is "Going Away party"

5 minutes into the premiere of his new show and I already wanna bleach my starfish

Tune into Comedy Central if you're not already

The whole damn show is awkward because it's got an air of apology and default white guilt. They have not had any intelligent discussion other than obvious statement of facts, sometimes not even facts. I don't understand how a show of admitting slave guilt can survive, but holy stuff this monday is handicapped.

Halftime update: No coherent or sticking arguments so far. Just a repeated mention of "power" and assertions aplenty

Off Topic / I need help with my physics homework (energy)
« on: March 19, 2017, 01:33:21 PM »
Hi folks. Physics has been rough for me this semester. Last semester, I barely scraped by with a 70. Though I have improved, I'm still having trouble with these problems. For me, the equations just run into one another in my head because they all use the same variables. If any of you manage to work these problems out, will you please explain how? I want to pass the AP test in April/May. Thank you as always.

(Idk why the third one is sideways. Sorry about that.)

Off Topic / Calling all physics nerds! I am dumb as a box of rocks
« on: January 25, 2017, 05:06:17 PM »
Alright folks. I am a true dummy when it comes to physics. I have a project that requires me to find the torque and all of the forces in the image below WITH inclusion of work in the final product and how I arrived there. I have all my forces labeled (I believe), however I have become stuck. Very stuck. Any help is greatly appreciated because this is due quite soon. Cheers!

Also, the guitar weighs 6.1 lbs. Pivot point and center of gravy are marked in green and blue.

Need to find:
- Force of gravity
- Both normal forces (must find torque first)
- All torques
+ includes moment arm, all that good stuff
- Tension force

Off Topic / I believe I am disassociated. I don't know what to do
« on: January 14, 2017, 05:19:26 AM »
The past 3 or so days, I feel like I've been outside of myself, almost as if I'm watching myself in a movie. Everything also seems physically far away. Thursday morning I was practicing guitar before school, and as if on a single note, I remember everything changing instantaneously, almost as if a switch had been flipped in my brain. I did some research and decided it most sounded like derealization and/or depersonalization. I feel trapped in this state of being. Although I can still function, I feel very detached from myself and who I am. I do not even know what is causing this. I have tried many different things to bring myself back. I played a lot of guitar, and although it sounded good, I still feel the same. This morning I'm going to go try lifting. I don't know what to do and I can't remember the last time I've felt like this, at least in recent years.

Hi all. So about a month ago (just outside of returnable date I believe), I bought myself a brand new MXR Carbon Copy. It did everything I had hoped for and more. I got a proper tube amp for Christmas (Fender Bassbreaker) and the pedal worked alright with it as well as my solid state Orange. However, I've run into a problem in the last couple of days. I don't have enough cables to use the effects loop, but when I plug it straight into the amp input (on either amp) and turn it on, it cuts the signal completely. Still, the true bypassed tone comes through when it's off. It operates on a Snark 9v power supply, as instructed by the pedal's manual, the input and output cable jacks are plugged in completely, and the pedal turns on when I tell it to, yet it still won't make any noise in the last few days. Any help is appreciated. Thank you as always.

Off Topic / level up or some stupid stuff
« on: June 23, 2016, 10:35:12 AM »
On this day, 16 years ago, I popped outta my mother's vagina and into the arms of a masked woman at St. John's hospital, just shy of 9 pounds. Now look at me, 20x my original weight. So I leveled up or whatever y'all like to say. I'm spending the first half of today at work, then the second half likely working on stuff at home and richarding around on my new guitar until I break it. Let's see how many birthday clipart pictures we can compile into this thread!
