6th Grade SurvivorAt my school every year the sixth graders do a two-week event called "Survivor." I've never seen the show so I don't know how close the event and the show is to each other. We had the opening ceremony in the courtyard May 20th. In this thread, I'll post the events that's going on. I'll also post pictures of the afternoon challenges.
BasicsIn the morning we split up into two groups, E1 and E2. Unfortunatley, 4/5 of my friends in that class are in E1 while I'm in E2. In the afternoon, we have go outside for about an hour and-a-half, the entire "tribe" working together.
Tribe Name: Roxo Farzo(Purple Strength)
Tribe Color: You guessed it, purple
Thursday, May 21stMorningMy group went to a different classroom and played a language game. We answered language-related questions. We lost, the final score being 24-23.
AfternoonVery fun. We used some things to stategically build a quality shelter. We also had to do some math stuff, which I didn't help with. The red team copied off our shelter, but it looks like it doesn't matter, ours was better. A few of the resources we could use was twine, a few tubes, duct tape, and two rocks. That's all I could think of.
No pictures, sorry.
Friday, May 22ndMorningI went to a different classroom and did an obstacle course. Very fun! Unfortuntaley, we lost...again.
AfternoonAs always, the afternoon was the best part. All teams except one got in a circle. That one team that was left tied their bandanna around their eyes. So they couldn't see. Each person got part of a word. There was people on one side of the human circle, and one side on the other. We screamed our word and tried to find another person that would make both words combined a compound word. For instance, "sit" and "up" which makes "situp." I got flower. At first I found someone with "sun" so I teamed with her, but we got sent back because it wasn't right. Then I found someone with "pot" which made "flowerpot."
No pictures, sorry.
