After much thinking, and consideration, I have decided to revive my story.
Here it is:
Proglue
I sat on the cold steel bench in bleacher park as I awaited the city buses arrival to pull up around the slightly-bent street lamp on the corner of Racket ave. and Duenta pkwy. The sound of air ships overhead rang in my eardrums. As the military patrol walked by, my friend Tom Green, who had joined the Earth's Air Force, flung me a quarter and walked off around a building off to the far right with his unit. He said the day before that he'd leave the patrol and join the Earth's Air Defense division.
A bus quickly pulled around the corner and stopped at the bus stop, which was a couple of benches to the right. As i entered the bus, the bearded, grayish bus driver looked my directly in the eyes and said "Twenty five cents, or you ain't gettin' on.". In a raucous voice. I quickly took the quarter Tom had gave me and slid it in the little coin slot near the cheap-looking radio. I walked to the right side, third seat down and sat. As the bus started off, I decided to put it away and look out the window, a patrol unit equipped with a bunch of C.R.A.G.s and M.T.R.C.R.s, an old woman walking her dog, and a small droid cleaning the front steps of an office building, "This city is boring." I thought.
I stepped off the bus and walked to the beginning of the huge fleet of stairs at the entrance of my apartment building. I took my gold key out of my pocket and placed it in a lock on my door, and opened the door slowly. As i walked in, i smelled the smell of pizza and cigarette smoke. My roommate, Jerry Sliton, was sleeping on the couch. I switched on the T.V. and flipped through the channels, i stopped on the news channel and watched an interview with the famous fleet commander Tom Gunn. after a few minutes, I changed the channel to a movie channel and watched a movie on Eric Speshnald, our 89th president.
After a good hour of brain cell killing, i heard a sonic BOOM, coming from out the left most window."I don't want to get up yet, mom!", Jerry said startled as he rolled off his bed and fell to the floor. I immediately raced to the window to be confronted by a blackening sky.
Chapter 1: Sitting ducks
Upon sticking my head out the gray silled window, I was astonished on the site of 3 huge black ships. The two nearest advanced toward the north side of the city as the second, downtown. A series of AA gun fire shrouded the first ship as it fired Gauss cannons, and missiles at the city's few gun posts. Soldiers, and police rolled into the street below, and quickly dismounted their vehicles to come to our doors in an attempt to evacuate all the civilians in the city. One of the ships fired a missile at the former-football stadium, which was being currently used as an armory for our, and the empire's military.
The stadium erupted fire, and debris in a loud explosion that I could even feel it from across the city. I quickly got away from the window, and ran to Jerry, "Jerry! Wake up!", I shook him in a panic, and lifted his 135 pound-body off the floor. "No Mom, not yet!", Jerry said in a raucous tone. Suddenly, There was another sonic BOOM coming from the farthest ship, it started spewing out escape pod looking landing crafts. Gun fire came from Gauss, rail, and Gatling guns mounted on the sides of the crafts, as they touched down, I had recognized the patches on the soldiers of the craft that touched down in my neighborhood.
The soldiers beat down the door to my apartment, and ordered me to surrender. I put up my hands over my head, and said, "You Escaberians are really over your heads invading our system." One of them kicked me in the face, and said, "Let's find a better place to set up a machine gun post", and they marched out of my apartment slamming the door on the way out. Right then, Jerry woke up saying, "What was that?", I said in response, "That was a few of an army of idiots."
As the ships roared overhead, and enemy troops marched by, Jerry flipped on the news, and to our horror, the anchorwoman was up in tears crying, "The Escaberians took over our system!", I knew this was going to be a bad day.
