Off Topic / The rain sucks.
« on: June 29, 2013, 04:08:41 PM »
I dunno about you guys, but I'm so happy this stuffty month is finally almost over and that I'm away on vacation now. It's had to have rained at least 20 days in the month of June where I live. Discuss rain and how it ruins everyone's plans.

I'm getting pretty sick of all these pages run by foreign people that post extremely obvious pictures, and posting them just to get a bunch of likes. Look at the page in the screenshot below and prepare to lose brain cells.

I should just use only Twitter and Instagram for now on...

Help / How to load a build in a different position?
« on: June 25, 2013, 11:39:07 AM »
I want to put a build I have on baseplates, but to do that, I'd need to load it one plate up in the air. What would be the command to load it in a different position?

Suggestions & Requests / Request for a vehicle

I doubt anybody would be willing to model and script this, but if you are, I would really love this type of racecar to be made for Blockland. I race these and watch them race 3 days a week, and my life revolves around these cars:

They are called Northeast DIRT Modifieds if you want more images. Thanks so much for if you consider making this.

EDIT: They also are supposed to drift. Reply to the topic if you need some more info on these cars.

Drama / Setro BLID 34992 Admitting to DDoS'ing my server
« on: June 17, 2013, 10:25:07 PM »
Okay, so I've loving had it with these attacks on my server the past three nights. The owner of the hosting service I use has had to block 2-3 IPs due to attacks over the past week. I'm not sure if Setro's making a bad joke or not, but he sounded pretty serious about it in the chats below. He just admitted to my admin, Racerboy that "someone in his house" attacked my server and tried to shut it down. On top of that, he was chatting with his buddy, Ark5, about DDoS'ing for about 20 minutes straight before the attack. My server had around 55 players in it, then suddenly these unusual packet drops started occurring. People started complaining about the unusual lag, and it became so bad, I lost around 20 players. The chats are below, but I'd really like to get to the bottom of this soon because the server attacks are become more and more frequent.

Enjoy!

Teams: (8 slots left)

Bracket Schedule:

About:
Ravencroft's 2v2 Basketball Tournament features fast paced and highly competitive basketball games in a high quality basketball arena. This tournament features 8 teams competing in a bracket format. Every team will start by competing against another team in the 1st round of the bracket. They will then move on to the 2nd round if they beat that team, and finally onto the 3rd round finals where they will compete in the championship game. Teams will be competing for the ultimate prize which includes...well..nothing! But surely people will want to form a team and compete at a high level! Teams are able to come up with creative team names as well as a team color of their choice. Players will also be presented with the opportunity to practice with their team in my server, which is open almost all the time. Practice makes perfect! Applications will be available for players starting Sunday, July 14th, so start thinking about who will be on your team and be ready the day applications are released. Signups are first come first serve, so be fast!

Rules:
• Players must have a basic knowledge of the sport and be available at specific times. If you can not make it to your game, let me know ASAP and I will consider changing the game to a new date or time.
• Each game consists of 4 quarters. Each quarter is 5 minutes in length. There will be a 5 minute intermission after the 2nd quarter, also known as halftime. If the game game is tied at the end of regulation, the teams will enter into a 5 minute overtime period. If they are still tied at the end of that overtime period, they will enter another overtime period and continue on until one team wins. A game will never end in a tie.
• Sometimes teams need a moment to regroup or come up with a new game plan. This is where timeouts come into play. Each team will get 3 timeouts. Each timeout will be exactly 1 minute long, and game play will resume at the end of that timeout. Unlike real life basketball, you can call a timeout at any point in the game rather than only being able to call timeouts when your team is on offense.
• Game scoring will be based off real life basketball scoring. Scoring a basket within the arcing white line counts as a 2-pointer. Scoring a basket outside the arcing white line counts as a 3-pointer. Free throws are 1 point for each made free throw.
• After a someone scores, or the ball goes out of bounds, the team with the ball must pass the ball in to their teammate.
• Fouls/Penalties will play a large part in keeping the games organized. Every foul or penalty committed will result in 2 free throws for the opposing team, usually resulting in an easy 2 points. Sometimes players may commit a technical foul. A technical foul is a serious offence in a game and with it comes consequences.  A technical foul will result in the opposing team shooting 2 free throws alone. That team also gets the ball after shooting those free throws. If a player commits 2 technical fouls, they will be automatically removed from the game, forcing their teammate to play alone. Read the list of fouls/penalties in the below section.
• Players are allowed to confront an official while the clock is stopped and ask for clarification of a certain call, such as a foul, ruling, or basket. Players are not allowed to argue or complain about a call.

Fouls/Penalties:
Normal Fouls: (Will result in the opposing team shooting 2 free throws.)
• Stealing the ball before the half court line. This includes passes.
• Shooting the ball before the half court line.
Technical fouls: (Will result in the opposing team shooting 2 free throws and getting the ball back. 2 technical fouls results in an automatic removal from the game.)
• Arguing with the official about a foul, ruling, or basket.
• Talking in all caps because your are angry.
• Raging in the middle of the game.
• Protesting by causing a delay in the game.
• Spiking the ball against the floor making it bounce really high.
• Throwing the ball across the court for no reason whatsoever.

Tips n' Tricks:
• Left Click to shoot the ball
• Right click to pass the ball
• The basketball item is edited so that you cannot make a shot using right click, or the pass command.
• Practice often. The more consistently you practice, the better you will be. It will also help you become more familiar with your teammate.
• Be fast and confuse your opponents. You must be quick to prevent the ball from being stolen from you. Coming up with moves, such as spin moves and shot fakes will help you create separation from the defender and give you a better chance of making a basket.
• Come up with a set of unique plays that will help you and your teammate stay on the same page. Creating and executing plays is often the key to success. Also make sure to practice these plays.
• Come extra early to your games. Showing up early and practicing right before the game will help you prepare for the upcoming game.

Drama / Blockteen(26383) - Blatant Build Stealing.
« on: April 25, 2013, 08:53:43 PM »
So I joined Blockteen's Falling Tiles server earlier which had 25 players in it. When I spawned, I noticed how horribly built the spawn was. I assumed the server was just another unoriginal copy, and boy was I right. When I walked out in the arena I immediately noticed it was an exact copy of mine without the designs on the walls. I continued to notice he was using the same exact events as my build, same bonus rounds, same tile layout, same windows, same centerprint text, same music setup, and more.

Here's my topic. Pictures are at the very end of it: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=217857.0

Player's supporting that this build was stolen:

Blockteen's stuffty excuses, denying he didn't steal my build:

And Finally, the bans:

As far as I can tell, this kid is a lazy forget who can't build things for himself. He thinks modifying a build makes it okay to use all of the events and other features to it and host it himself, and what really pisses me off is he denied stealing it, saying he built it from scratch, and then got 25 players. This garbage was top of the server list.

Not sure if this was posted or not yet, but I just saw this on the news. I knew fertilizer had chemicals in it but not that much. It's insane. Explosion at 0:25 if you don't want to watch the whole thing.

About:
Ravencroft's 2v2 Basketball Tournament includes a high quality arena that's used for intense games of basketball for the ultimate prize, which includes...well...nothing. This tournament is just for fun, but surely people will be getting teams together and be wanting to compete at a high level. I'm planning on having 8 teams that will be competing against eachother in a bracket format. 1st round, 2nd round, etc. Players must have a basic knowledge of basketball and must be available at specific times for when their games will be. There will be 4 quarters, and each quarter will be 5 minutes. The game will be scored based on actual basketball game scoring. 2 pointers and 3 pointers. Since stealing often makes games unrealistic, I have come up with a simple solution to this issue. There will be no stealing allowed before the ball handler reaches the half court line. There will also be no shooting the ball before half court. If these rules are broken, the other team gets to shoot 2 free throws. Each made free throw is 1 point added to the team's score. If you would like to join in on this tournament, start thinking of who will be on your 2 player team. I will be releasing team applications on Friday, April 12th. Also, please vote in the poll!

Game Rules:
No stealing the ball before the halfcourt line. This includes passes.
No shooting the ball before the halfcourt line.
No shooting the ball with the pass button.
Pass the ball in when it goes out of bounds or after someone scores.
Obey the referees and don't rage or else you receive a technical foul. Two technical fouls is an automatic removal from the game. An example is spiking the ball when you get angry.
Please try to play the full game even if you are losing. Rage quitting is looked down upon.
And please, have fun!
