I've wanted to make a Highlander team for quite some time now, and lots of people had an interest in taking part, so here is the thread I promised. (I'll probably make it look nicer later)

NEWS:
  • [Posted 8/19/2014] Permanent Demoman found, team name and tags decided upon, submitted out team to the UGC site and is now waiting for approval by admins. This is actually happening guys!

  • [Posted 7/23/2014] Official tryouts for Sniper are scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 27th at 7pm Eastern Time (EDT).
  • [Posted 7/22/2014] Official tryouts for Soldier are scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 26th at 7pm Eastern Time (EDT).
  • [Posted 7/21/2014] Official tryouts for Scout are scheduled to take place on Friday, July 25th at 8pm Eastern Time (EDT).

Prologue: This will be my first Highlander team and first experience in the competitive world of Team Fortress 2 so there are bound to be a few mistakes but I will be trying my damnedest to make sure this works out. Dmanic (cooldawson3 on the forums) will be assisting me and helping me make sure this goes as smoothly as possible as he has had competitive team experience and has owned a Highlander team in the past.

« on: June 30, 2014, 01:35:02 AM »
There was an event that let you change the player's appearance (color/hat/decal/face/etc)that I can no longer find at all. Would anyone happen to have a link or some alternative?

Suggestions & Requests / Fighter jet
« on: June 26, 2014, 09:25:17 PM »
I'm looking for some fighter jet I can't find or remember the name to/who made it. It was a fighter with the ability to put up/down the landing gear and would only fire if it was put up. If someone could help me find it that'd be great.

Games / The Elder Scrolls Online [To be P2P with Item Shop]
« on: August 25, 2013, 04:40:31 AM »
The Elder Scrolls Online is to have a subscription based model (which honestly I expected) however the game will also have an Item Shop for "fun things and vanity" which has me a bit concerned. I had planned to pick up the game on release but I'm not sure anymore, the sub to me means there wont be a cash shop, that everything will be in game, including vanity and things like name changes should in my opinion be either not possible, or limited in some way without the use of an item shop.

http://www.mmorpg.com/newsroom.cfm/read/28426/Elder-Scrolls-Online-Item-Shop-News.html

Quote
ESO gets a classical subscription model. With the purchase of the game you get 30 days free game time, then the game will cost 12.99 euros per month.

According to Matt Firor will be available in The Elder Scrolls Online an item shop, where her character fun items and services you can buy as a renaming of the character.

The game and all its contents are however covered by the subscription model.

The reason why the developers have opted for a subscription model that ESO should feel like a big sandbox. You shall pay without any barriers can enjoy all content.

Matt Firor is also of the opinion that this model best fits the Elder Scrolls series.

The developers have looked at many different payment models in advance and you can find free-to-play games are not inherently wrong. Matt Firor itself plays as World of Tanks and League of Legends.

The development of ESO is almost complete and it will be no more new great features for the release implements. Now the systems are tested and improved in beta.

Currently, the developers are busy building up the server environments and prepare for a large number of players. Finally, everything should run stable at launch.

The contents of the release of The Elder Scrolls Online're done. Currently, the teams are busy but have to develop content for future patches.

What does everyone else think? I plan on staying away and waiting until I see what happens with the game after a few months.

Games / Continent of the Ninth: Seal (C9)
« on: January 21, 2012, 09:31:20 PM »
Quote
Continent of the Ninth, also referred to as C9, is a free to play MMORPG with FPS style gameplay. The game has keyboard controls, and a combo system where players have to aim each attack. There’s no auto-attack or auto-aim system to fall back on. Besides having fast paced gameplay, Continent of the Ninth runs on a powerful new graphic engine that allows for high end visuals and a detail character customization process. Other interesting features include a combo system, a guild system with guild housing, and item upgrade features.

This game's CBT is set for the 4th of February, the game looks amazing, however not just anyone can get into the beta test, earlier this month Webzen set up ads asking people to apply for the VIP test, they reviewed everyone's application and out of the thousands that applied only 10,000 get to actually play.

Games / $20 Playstation Card for Dungeon Defenders [Nevermind]
« on: December 14, 2011, 01:36:00 PM »
Okay well today in class I got  a $20 Playstation card, and there isn't anything I want on the store, so I was wondering if anyone wanted to trade Dungeon Defenders ($15 game) for the $20 code for PSN.

New idea.

Creativity / Sculptris - Free Sculpting Program (Show off your Sculpts!)
« on: November 05, 2011, 11:05:58 AM »
Sculptris is free sculpting software that I've been experimenting with since yesterday, and I'm curious if anyone else uses this program, or another similar program.

http://www.pixologic.com/sculptris/

My Sculpts (Keep in mind these range from my FIRST sculpt to my latest)
(to get a feel for the tools)

What can you come up with??

*I'd like to mention that I'm not putting this in the 3D modeling topic because I'm focusing on the program itself, not models in general

I'm confused as what I should get, any ideas?

Okay, right now it's between BF2142 and Borderlands, pick and provide info as to why I'd like either more than the other.

Games / Dragon's Nest - OBT l Fast Paced gameplay similar to Vindictus
« on: August 07, 2011, 12:48:54 AM »
Quote
Dragon Nest is a free-to-play fantasy MMORPG developed by Eyedentity Games. It uses a non-targeting combat system ensuring that players have complete control over every single one of their character's movements. Dragon Nest requires users to advance their characters by teaming up and traveling into instanced dungeons.

The game is currently in OBT (Open-Beta Testing) and the cap has been set to 24 (which surprisingly takes a while to get to), there are four classes, each of which divide further into 2 more classes.

Quote
Warrior: As a Warrior you will battle foes in fast-paced close-ranged melee combat. Quick and agile, you will rely on melee combos to triumph over your foes.
-Swordsman: Swordsmen specialize in the use of greatswords and can create long chains of combos that do massive damage. As Swordsmen continue to rise in level, they can further specialize their abilities, choosing to focus on doing massive damage to a single opponent or less damage to many opponents at once.
-Mercenary: Mercenaries do less damage and are much less mobile than Swordsmen. They make up for this however, by being the most heavily armored character in the game. Their primary focus is engaging enemies one-on-one and taking the kind of blows other characters can’t, allowing their friends the opportunity to damage and destroy larger enemies. Mercenaries may use axes or hammers.

Cleric: The Cleric is a tough, armored fighter with the ability to both heal and buff friends. He does less damage than most other classes, but his support abilities more than make up for it, making the Cleric a welcome friend in any party.
-Paladin: More than any other class, the Paladin specializes in keeping himself alive. A sort of “armored turtle,” the Paladin is really good at taking a beating to distract monsters in order to give his friends time to destroy them. Their greatest weakness is their low damage and small mana pool that forces them to be very careful when casting spells.
-Priest: Unlike Paladins, Priests have larger mana pools and more attack spells at their disposal. That means they can serve as a secondary damage dealer in a party. Their most effective role though, is as a healer. A good Priest in a party keeping everybody alive is often the difference between life and death in a dungeon.

Archer: As an Archer, you excel at long-ranged combat, taking out foes using a bow and arrows and using your speed and agility to avoid being hit in return.
-Sharpshooter: Sharpshooters specialize in the use of bows at the expense of their acrobatic skills and melee attacks. As such, they tend to be very vulnerable when up close with an opponent. At range though, there is no class in the game who can do as much damage as a well-played Sharpshooter.
-Acrobat: While still excellent long-range attackers, Acrobats give up some of their most damaging bow skills in favor of acquiring a devastating arsenal of lightning-fast kicks and strikes. While still poorly armored, Acrobats are one of the most agile classes, boasting plenty of escape moves that allow them to get in close, do damage and get out before the foe even knows what hit them.

Sorceress: The Sorceress specializes in medium-range attacks. While they can’t do as much damage as the Archer, their greatest strength is their ability to inflict various status ailments on enemies. They can freeze them, set them on fire, poison them, or do all sorts of other damage that can kill a lot of monsters over time. They can also equip a variety of off-hand items that allow them to cause different secondary effects.
-Elementalist: Elementalists are the queens of elemental magic and can create walls of ice, poison pits, flame trails and more as they take ultimate control of the battlefield. Although Elementalists have the disadvantage of lower health, they more than compensate with their ultimate damage. When in doubt, let an Elementalist “divide and conquer” the battlefield for you!
-Mystic:  Mystics go far beyond merely using the elements to inflict status ailments. They harness the very force of creation itself such as gravity and black holes to control the crowd, ripping creatures apart, crushing them mercilessly, or just whipping them around to give their friends the chance to slice and dice them. Mystics are well balanced in their damage dealing and survival in a battle.

I have been playing the game for about 2 or 3 days, since it is in OBT, many features (such as pvp) are not yet available.

If you decide to play, go Argenta

Games / Anyone else currently playing S4 League?
« on: July 24, 2011, 03:55:07 PM »
After looking at some thread, I saw someone repeatedly speak of S4 League (I think it was Chrono?). So after I looked up some videos and it looked kind of meh at best. I gave it a shot and I love it, anyone else playing?
