Games / Blacklight: Retribution Kawaii Kup Tournament | FINALS: LG Wins!
« on: February 20, 2016, 05:38:22 PM »

Some background info, Blacklight: Retribution is a futuristic cyberpunk-themed FPS game. Combines quake-like qualities along with odd mechanics. HRV (hyper reality visor) allows a user to see other enemies through walls for a very limited time, but leaves the user vulnerable as he cannot shoot or use gear during this. Items such as HRV Blackout, and HRV cloak allows a user to be undetected by it for a limited time. There are many customization options that even change the spread, run speed, and even scope-in time. For example, changing a barrel may decrease aim-spread, but harmfully impact move-spread (hipfire) and run speed.

One is recorded with MSI Afterburner and one with OBS. OBS files are a lot smaller compared to MSI Afterburner, but the audio seems a little lesser in sound quality(?).

I need some help determining which one is better overall (video, sound, which recording looks stable, etc.)

i wouldve picked a song that wasnt anime for those that dont like it at all lol, but w/e it was already in my videos folder sao was bad anyways, music is nice though

OBS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PPV_RSvCNIU&feature=youtu.be

I might as well list my PC specs incase any of you are specialists at determining what settings I should use off the bat based on my specs:
CPU: i7-4790 @ 3.60GHz (8 core)
RAM: 16 GB DDR3
Gfx card: GTX 970 x2 (both have approx. 4 GB memory)

Description [link]
Warframe is a cooperative, free-to-play, sci-fi third person shooter game developed by Digital Extremes (DE for short). The game is playable on PC, Xbone, and PS4. It is available for distribution on Steam and directly from the Warframe website.

Gameplay [link]

Warframe is set in a distant future where the solar system is dominated between the Grineer, an empire race of militarized clones; the Corpus, a mega-corporation merchant cult with advanced robotics and laser technology; and the Infested, the name for a disease and its victims that devours all. The players takes the role of a Tenno, an ancient warrior created by the Orokin to battle a mysterious foe but left to slumber generations ago, until woken by an entity called the Lotus for the sole purpose of reuniting the scattered, war-torn colonies throughout the system.

The players are always pitted against enemies in superior numbers. To this end, players have at their disposal a varied arsenal of weapons both archaic and modern, and most notably, their most powerful weapon--the titular Warframe, each of which has a particular set of abilities. Despite being primarily a shooter game, the gameplay has a definite focus on the synchronization of players' arsenal, allowing for limitless creativity in combat.

Games / Looking for a low priced Wacom Intuos CTL-480 (check op)
« on: November 14, 2015, 10:02:28 PM »
old stuff
Browser crashed while typing this topic on phone, too lazy to redo it all so gonna do it in tl;dr form

I play a rhythm game called osu!, and I want to buy the optimal switch for this game, while at the same time, optimal for myself. Example of a high bpm map w/ singletaping that is similar to what I play.

Reference for those who don't know about these Cherry MX switches

Ive been leaning towards black switches (60g actuation force), heavier version of reds (45g). I leaned towards these because theyre a fair bit heavier than reds, and the switches are stiffer, meaning they go back to their reset point faster. Because they are stiffer, theoretically there should be a lesser margin of error for accidental presses. Downside is theyre heavier, and may affect stamina. Eventually, I may get used to them though, which would also mean reds would theoretically be the best since they are: linear, the lightest switch, and have the actuation point close to the reset/bottom(?). This is my first time purchasing a mechanical keyboard so reds may be a choice later on once I get used to how mechanical keyboards feel. Yes, I know half of it is mainly personal preference, but I never tried mechanical switches on osu before
(?) someone correct me on the part with the actuation point if they know,

Preparing for Black Friday / Cyber Monday by looking for a wacom intuos graphics tablet that im going to be using for osu! and design in the future. I need help lookin for the CTL480 wacom intuos tablet and currently this is one I can find online and ill prob look more when im back in the states:

So my dad has an issue where he usually has a really short fuse especially when hes proven wrong about a certain subject. I tried to talk with him about this matter and now my consequence for bringing up the subject is that I have to re-earn my computer. If I dont re-earn it, well hes going to format everything on there and delete my stuff. Fun isnt it. Hes realized the issue about himself which is nice, but not so great for me. This shouldnt be that hard to re-earn my dad's trust, but man does that really suck that I have to go a month without my computer lol. Not actually that bad, probably good for me also since I might be more social, but I never liked socializing with people at school.
why am i even laughing about this

So for a month, my rank in osu! is probably gonna go to stuff, along with my skill. FPS skills usually stay with me. Might have a withdrawl because I play osu! like almost everyday and im going to miss that. Hey, if my stuff is gone, I guess Ill have more space. Oh, and ill probably miss some good events on warframe and the ability to participate in osu! tournaments. hey armyunit if youre reading this can you grab primed continuity, primed pistol gambit, and any returning event mods that baro might sell, ill repay you back bby

tl;dr My dad had an anger issue-ish and talked to him about it.
I lose my computer for a month or longer, and I may lose everything on the computer if I dont regain my dad's trust.

Games / Picking a Mechanical Keyboard for Osu! and FPS games
« on: June 24, 2015, 07:18:46 AM »
I've been playing osu! for quite a while and I have noticed that the membrane keyboard I use has been letting me down on 4 star and higher maps. I can still practice and work with it, however I think its time that I search for a mechanical keyboard for gaming anways.
I did some research on switches and it seems that purchasing a keyboard with cherry mx red switches is better suited for my playstyles. However, this is not limited to only red switches. If you think a different switch type is better for the genre I play, go ahead and suggest a keyboard with them. I can still go to the shops and test out switches.
Alongside using the keyboard for osu!, I plan on using the keyboard for casual gaming and competitive FPS games. Games such as CSGO and BLR are examples. The keyboard I may buy is a Corsair Vengeance K70 w/ Red LEDs and Cherry MX Red switches. If you know any sites with better deals, please do post them here. I am on a semi-strict budget so I am looking for a keyboard that is < 150 USD, a little over may work still.

My timezone right now is GMT+/--8:00 (HKT), late response from me, wooooooooooo

EDIT: also I would like to hear BLF's opinion on switches
