Info
Doctor Who is a British television show (that is now airing more in America). It features a time and space travelling hero with the species of a timelord who goes by the name of 'The Doctor' or just 'Doctor'. This timelord when dying has a feature to change his appearance and 'regenerate' (allowing a different actor to take the role), though if in the process he his shot or killed in some other way he will die forever. His race was killed long ago in a timewar, a giant war between the timelords and the Daleks, the Doctor's most feared enemy. Even though the Doctor was a rouge timelord he still misses his counterparts. He travels in a bigger on the inside police box named 'The TARDIS (Time And Relative Dimension In Space)'. Normally he has one or two companions (ranging from a human, to an alien, to a talking tin dog) with him who eventually die or leave. The show started in 1963 and ended in 1989. It was when revived in 2005. So far the show has had 11 Doctors and the current Doctor is played by Matt Smith.

From left to right like a book all the Doctors in chronological order. The new show featured the bottom three.

Pretty much the title. Do the Surge Protectors on Outlet Multipliers work well? I'm asking since there's thunder going over and soon presumably lightning - so I'm wondering if the surge protector built in to an outlet multiplier is enough to protect my computer from a random (very unlikely but possible) lightning strike. I googled but nothing came up on the matter.

Off Topic / Post Happy and Funny Things
« on: June 30, 2013, 05:33:08 PM »
Hello all. Recently today I've been thinking a lot about death and the life questions and quite simply put it's been getting me down quite a lot. I'm sure a lot of other people are also feeling down for some reason here, so I think we all need a happy and funny topic, where we all just post things that make us smile and laugh. It'd help me and I'm sure other people out as well. So feel free to post anything from a funny YouTube video or just a funny picture - so long as it brings at least a smile to your face. :D

Off Topic / Need Help Choosing a New Computer for Family
« on: May 26, 2013, 11:13:45 AM »
What would be the best 'gaming' computer I could get for £400 (including VAT)? Preferably (but not 100% needed) from cyberpower (I'm not gonna build one, so prebuilt please) and (100%) needs to include Windows 7 but not accessories? I'd rather AMD but also not completely needed. Yes a desktop not a laptop. :D

I obviously put inverted commas on gaming because I know it won't be great, but it's for my sister who wants to play some games (not really high graphically intensive ones) and family use.

I tried posting this in the computer megathread but nobody seemed to help so I just thought it'd be easier to ask everyone in general instead.

Thanks in advance. :)

Hi guys. I don't usually ask for yous guy's help for homework and stuff but I've tried so hard at this problem and I just don't get where I'm going wrong. I know some of you are like maths genius's so I'd really appreciate it if you guys could help me. Here's the problem (task 2/3):

I believe I'm doing it right, but I think I'm slipping up somewhere. I've checked on online calculators and I seem to be getting the wrong answer. If you don't understand what I'm writing due to my stuff hand writing, tell me and I'll try and clear it up. Thanks for the help assuming it comes. :)

So here's the situation. I'm trying to download a decently large file, but since my internet keeps cutting out every time the file downloads, when the internet cuts out it just stops and even when the internet comes back on the file won't keep downloading and I have to restart the download. Luckily on Tuesday I'm getting a better internet provider, but for now I'd like to try and download something. Anyone got ideas? I've been using Chrome and I plan to try other browsers soon, but if anyone has any other ideas that'd be great.
Thanks. :)

Off Topic / Anyone know how an average school day in Quebec is?
« on: December 17, 2012, 12:38:13 PM »
Slightly weird question I know, but I'm doing a project on Quebec and Google apparently is not filled with all the Quebec info I'll ever need. I'd just like to know how the average Quebec secondary and/or primary school day goes (lunch times and all that).
Thanks :)
