Serious discussion about topics that people care about is rare. And when it does arise, it quickly turns into a flame war.
I don't like that.

I've slowly stopped visiting different boards of this forum, as they have decayed. Recently I've gotten down to Off Topic, Games, and Creativity. Off Topic has become stuff, obviously, and my last attempt at calling somebody out for being an idiot got me banned. My favorite part of the Creativity board was how people openly expressed their opinions about art, which is the only thing I want them to do for me. However, this is apparently no longer welcome and it really does make me sad.

but the Games forum is still cool, so good job guys.

So I'm not going to post anymore, because in short, you fellows don't do much except piss me off and then I waste my time getting pissed off.

Assuming this topic is deleted and I got banned, nothing of much value will be lost. Staying and just being angry all the time would be doing a disservice to the forum populace, just look at a certain angry forum Mod.

I've recently fallen in love with my pencil. it's so easy to use.
I also love my photoshop.
and my scanner.

i'd love to see your work too. I'll update the OP more and more as I draw more. I've got a new drawing going, but I might just redo that alltogether on the computer and use the original as a guide.

Hi, I like Minecraft.
I've also found that you guys do as well.

While Minecraft's default textures are great, I really feel like it doesn't give the game a feel of wonder that it's capable of. For instance, once you just started, you've seen most everything. You'll see coal and make a wooden tool. From there, all of the ores are just a recolor of coal, and all the tools are just a recolor of the first tier. Of course, this is a problem to me. Where's the excitement!? I wish for a time where Minecrafters can be surprised whenever they make or find something, and thusly be encouraged to make more stuff just to know what it looked like.

Of course, you'll never know what everything looks like until you download the pack and play the game! (unless of course, you helped make some stuff or just looked at the files before you played the game because you're a stinky doohead.). I intend to show only some textures in the preview for this (dirt, stone, grass, wood, a few items, etc)

While other Minecraft retextures have made some pretty neat items, I really haven't found any terrain I'm happy with. I really like how the default dirt and stone textures tile so seamlessly, but most packs seem to kill this. While I want to make a more realistic (and thusly browner) pack, I don't want to ruin the tileability that the default pack already has.

With that in mind, I'd like you guys to give me ideas, feedback, and especially contributions to the pack itself.

I would like suggestions as to what I should do for most items, so please give them. Some items, such as TNT blocks and Gold tools, allow for more creativity, so don't be afraid to suggest something silly!

Right now I'm working on the basic terrain files, mainly dirt and grass. Terrain is top priority at the moment, but still feel free to contribute in other areas.

Yeah, I have a ton of trouble drawing humens because my proportions are always out of whack, so I can barely handle a boring looking-straight-at-you-doing-nothing-pose, much less anything interesting.

mainly female, but if you have a good guide on both genders that's fine. a short google search didn't get me what I wanted, and you guys have given me some good guidance before.

I just signed up for Steam Beta.
