Small and Simple

Introduction:
I decided to build this to see if I could get enough detail into a small house or 16x32 size. I think I achieved this goal with Small and Simple. I'm not thrilled with the way the roof came out, it seems to me like the house is wearing a sombrero.
UPDATE: The roof is fixed and the colors have been toned down.

Off Topic / Help with a French AC plug
« on: June 26, 2011, 04:47:45 AM »
Well, I just got back from a huge trip in France, and I brought a new camera there. It came with a plug, but as I do not live in France, it does not fit in our plugs. We got an adapter and we plugged it in, but it's been 3-4 hours and the camera has not charged. At all. Is there a specific way around the plug has to be and what does it do to the battery/camera if the plug is around the wrong way around?

Off Topic / Goddamn packaging ripoffs!
« on: March 31, 2011, 11:21:27 PM »
So I opened my packet of Turbos (jelly cars :o) and out popped a measly 8 vehicles... THIS PACKET CAN HOLD THREE TIMES AS MUCH EASILY! This is stupid, and I've noticed that the chippy packets here contain like, 10 chips. This is getting out of hand, they charge the same price but keep lowering how much is in the packet. Someone needs to bring this to the attention of the people at these companies.

/discuss ripoff bags.

Arthur's Quest
By Maximum

What is Arthur's Quest?:
Arthur's Quest is a movie that I am currently in the process of getting up and running. I am working on the builds and script etc. for the filming. I am looking for actors, builders, voice actors and any other misc. people needed (i.e. modellers) to complete this. Arthur's Quest is going to be quite a long movie, so I need people who can stay focused for long periods of time and sometimes stay up until crazy times to get things done.

What is it about?:
I made a quick prologue that sort of outlines the main ideas in the movie:

Way back before ballistic weapons were invented, before the great wars, there lay a small town, knee-deep in trouble, on top of a majestic mountain, Mount Shayd. This small town lay on the boundary of two great kingdoms, which were always at war over the ownership of the village. Many-a skirmish have brought the town to it's knees, but dedicated townspeople have helped the town rise back to it's former glory. Recently, the king of one of the kingdoms has passed away, leaving room for a new king, but with no heir to the throne, the kingdom cannot be run. This leaves room for the opposing kingdom to take over the small town, but the town won't go down without a fight. A rebellion is growing, the villagers are fed up with the fighting over their town, and want to bring the town under it's own rule, but this can only happen once it has proven it can stand up for itself. One boy, aged 16, leads this rebellion. His name is Arthur, and this is his story about how he leads his small town into battle and fights for the freedom of his people. This is Arthur's Quest.

What does it look like?:
I've taken the liberty of snapping a few pictures for you're eyes to climax over.

When do you start filming?:
When we have the set all done, the slots taken and the actors are ready. We don't have a specific date, but it won't be from the 8th of April up until the 29th of April, as I am away on a school trip to France.

As a last note, I would like to say that I hope you all take this information into consideration and decide to help, as I need all the help I can get to have this done. Email me at arthursquestparts@gmail.com and I will compile the people who want to help.

Who's building this?:
I am the only builder at the moment, but I am looking for some help with setting some stuff up.

How do I help?:
You can send me a message titled "Arthur's Quest Help" and I will get back to you as soon as I can. I have a lot of spaces to fill up so if you know anyone else who may help, just refer them to this or the Community Projects post.

Modification Help / How do I texture a weapon?
« on: February 08, 2011, 11:50:52 PM »
I've had a few goes at it, tried to duplicate the packaging of another weapon and that didn't work, I tried putting in small .PNGs of the colors and naming them accordingly, but I still can't get it to work. How am I meant to do this?

Fire at Point
Reviews with Attitude

What the hell is this!?
Fire at Point, or F.A.P is a team of people who review new (or old) games, but do it with attitude.

Who the forget are these kids?
Well, there are four, Joshua Laubscher, Shaun Maule, Scarlett Moore and Jordon Thorner. I would just like to clarify that NONE of these four are me.

Well, what's the point?
To inform the community of the ups and downs of the new games released, so that they can make an informed decision on whether they will buy it. In short, the same as every other review site, but with funnies.

Where can I find this stuff?

Gallery / Part-Zoom Technique
« on: December 04, 2010, 04:24:10 PM »
I was fiddling with my controls whilst working on a city and zoomed part way in, and it gave birth to this exciting new technique, the Part-Zoom Technique. It creates a new atmosphere and shape to the pictures taken, and is quite cool to play in, although to play in it you would need to be holding your F key (or whatever key you zoom with).

So, to showcase this, I took a few random pictures, and here they are:

Some of my friends at school did this. It's an air-instrument band, so there are no instruments, and I thought it was pretty innovative, I don't know if it's even been done before, so, watch and rate please :D

I drew some skulls, unfortunately, looking at them again, they all have a similar design. Almost identical.

Oh well. Onwards!
