Help / Blockland couldn't detect a suitable Display Device
« on: January 17, 2015, 11:19:29 PM »
Hello!

I have a Lenovo Y510p with an Nvidia 755m W/2GB dedicated ram. (Running Windows 7 Pro)
I've run Blockland before just fine. Due to missing DLL issues, I reinstalled Windows 7 by doing an "upgrade", which fixed many issues I was having. However,  now Blockland isn't detecting my display adapter. Why? It has the latest drivers.

Thanks!

Suggestions & Requests / Vehicle: Redline Car
« on: July 31, 2014, 01:38:31 PM »
Hello all!

Looking for someone to make a new vehicle based on the one JP used from the 2009 film: REDLINE

It needs to go insanely fast. At least 2x as fast as the FishTail racer Bushido made. I don't care if it handles like crap, I don't care if it nearly breaks Blockland's engine with the shear speeds. I just want it.
(Actually, if at full speed, Blockland starts breaking, or physics start getting wobbly or weird, that's preferred)

Thanks!

Help / Blockland Not Recognizing All Mouse Buttons
« on: April 27, 2014, 10:15:58 AM »
Hey Everyone,

I have a Logitech M500 Wired Mouse. It has 2 buttons on the side of the mouse (Buttons 4 and 5) and Blockland seems to only recognize them as a single button, so when I map one control to one button, and another to the other, it acts as if they're one and the same. Does anyone else have this same mouse and know how to fix this? I didn't have this issue on Mac but now I'm getting it on Windows 7. I installed the latest Logitech drivers for it, but I'm not positive if the button settings are correct.

Please let me know if you have a solution,
Thanks.

Suggestions & Requests / Client-Sided Vehicle Health Bar/Meter/Something
« on: February 17, 2014, 02:39:44 PM »
Hey guys,

Can someone make a client-sided add-on that tells you the current health of your vehicle out of it's maximum? The design can whatever you'd like.

Much appreciated.

Suggestions & Requests / Realistic Tank(s) for Blockland
« on: February 16, 2014, 09:55:43 PM »
I realize what I'm about to request is far outside the realm that Blockland normally treads in. I understand that Blockland is far from a simulator, and wasn't intended to be one. However, I think that people can genuinely appreciate well-made vehicle in Blockland if the creator takes the time to build them.

I'd like to see a tank to beat all other tanks. A tank so amazing, so spectacular, that Blockland can't even understand it's awesomeness.

What I'd like to see in a tank is:

1: Has a turret that moves slowly, like real tank turrets. (I know that some turrets can go a decent speed, but it should be capped, you shouldn't be able to do a 360 degree turn in one second)
2: Has treads that can bend and flex around objects so bumpy terrain is easy to navigate. (Not just visually, like on the T-90)
3: Has a low center of gravity and is less prone to the unrealistic constant "turtling" of tanks.
4: Has realistic sound effects for driving at different speeds, on different terrain (Based on color of terrain?), realistic tank fire and reload sounds, realistic sounds for stopping, turning, turret movement, etc.
5: Has realistic interior and hud (I don't expect perfection, but at least the basic HUD on the gunner's position would be nice)
6: I'd like to have the shells have drop-off that's relatively realistic. I think some tanks do this already.

Realistic armor is perhaps entirely impossible. It's just the way torque works. Real tanks don't have "Health". A shell can bounce off, penetrate, explode on contact, or otherwise. Having a tank with segmented parts that can be damaged individually is completely impossible, i'm sure. (IE: Tank treads get shot, right tread no longer works)

Note: It can be based off a real-life tank, or entirely unique. It's up to you to decide.
I realize that a good chunk, if not all of this is entirely impossible due to the engine Blockland runs on, Torque.

If anyone, anyone at all wants to give this a shot, I would be eternally grateful. I'd even help record and edit a trailer for the tank and post it on youtube, then share the link on the forums. I'd be happy to beta-test or anything of the sort.

Thank you for your time.

TL;DR: I want a really realistic tank. If you want to make it (and think you can) I'll be eternally grateful.

Help / Crash On Loading Datablocks
« on: January 02, 2014, 03:08:23 PM »
Hello, I've been crashing on Blockaloni's server upon getting about 1/2 way through with loading datablocks.

Specs:
Macbook Pro Mid 2010 W/4GB DDR3 Ram, 2.4 GHz Dual Core Intel CPU, nVidia 320M GPU w/256MB of dedicated RAM, running Mac OS X 10.7.5 (Lion)

Notes:
I don't crash on any other server. I have no idea why this is happening. Other people can join his server just fine and spawn, except me.

Here's the crash log. I realize it's technobable, and that's why I'm asking for help. I have no idea what it means. It's not like a Minecraft crash log, it doesn't "tell" you much about what' happening in english. If you're skilled enough to understand it, please help.

Suggestions & Requests / TDM W/Fire Suggestion
« on: December 11, 2013, 03:55:41 AM »
I've realized a problem as of late in many TDM's or Dogfights.
Simply put, there's no reason to defend home base. A few points, a token prize in the end. It's not important. Why set up defenses anyways? Why even bother using AA guns or defensive turrets? Why take the match seriously?

Well, this solution could stop that dead in it's tracks, along with adding a whole new angle on Dogfighting servers. Imagine that bombs, yes, bombs could set fire to bricks they hit when exploding? Then what? Let the enemy bombers come to close, and all the sudden, your base is on fire. Then, losing critical spawns for your planes or tanks, the crippled team falls to their superiors. Or do they? Perhaps, given enough teamwork, a new class appears, the fire-fighters. A group of militarized players with fire-fighting equipment to protect those assets while the team does it's best to strike back!

Honestly, I'm looking at this pretty optimistically. To work, the server would need at least 16 active players on each side. Different sections of the home bases like player spawns, tank spawns, runways, ammo storage, ect, would need to be separated so one strike didn't just wipe out the whole thing ending the game. However, if done correctly, with fires that actually spread and destroy bricks, you could have a hell of a lot of fun. I don't know the state of the old fire-fighting mods, if they work or are buggy, but working out the kinks, modifying some vehicles to have some fire-starting capability shouldn't be too tough.

Just a thought. I can't do that sort of thing myself. Who knows, maybe one you can do that sort of thing?

Suggestions & Requests / 'Mech Vehicle
« on: November 28, 2013, 12:51:26 PM »
Yes, I already know about the Light/Medium/Heavy 'Mechs that came out a few years ago. I'm not interested. They had almost no detail and were poorly scripted.

What i'd like is a highly detailed 'Mech Vehicle. It could be custom, or taken from models from MechWarrior 3-4, MechWarrior Online, or MechWarrior: Living legends. In any case, I'd love a detailed model. Interior, sound effects, multiple weapons, perhaps even ammo. It would be a one-seater obviously, so the next and previous seat buttons could even be used to toggle weapons or swap between them.

This isn't an easy project, but it would really mean a lot.

Attached is a picture for reference.

Suggestions & Requests / Tank Wars/World Of Tanks Server
« on: November 28, 2013, 12:14:27 AM »
The Concept: An All-Out or Team-Based Tank-War server.

The Reason: The simple fact that I have failed to find any decent or constant tank-battling servers. The last time I saw one was over a year ago, and this is what I want to change.

The Good: I have almost every tank currently made for Blockland. If I'm missing one, I'd be more than happy to add it. I have recording software and dedication. I'm great with hosting, and have Slayer along with the right attitude to host without the server collapsing in on itself.

The Problem: I have extremely limited scheduling due to High School commitments. I won't have more free time until the end of the year, sadly. Finally, I don't have a map to have the tanks fight on, nor can I build well myself.

The End-Game: If anyone is willing to give me a map to have the tank battle on, I would love that, and credit would be posted where you want it. The issue is that while tanks supposedly have an advantage on rough terrain, in Blockland, that isn't the case, but in order for the server not to be completely boring, It would need to have varying terrain. They generally can only go up or move well on specific bricks. Meaning that if it's built the wrong way, you could have a ton of immobile tanks, which isn't any fun. I'm willing to have the map be compatible with all tanks, or only specific ones if the map-maker doesn't want to suit for all of them. If you agree to build it, I'll send you specifics on the size and characteristics necessary, but I doubt it should be to hard, though I do generally like detailed builds.

The Map Itself: I would like, as i said, varying terrain. I'd like trees, plants, perhaps different "biomes" or areas. (Deserts, Jungles, Woods, Rivers, ect) I'd like to have at least one or two tanks be able to navigate the terrain. (IE: The "Maus" tank cannot go up essentially any terrain, so it wouldn't be practical to shape the map for it, but the T-90 has the capability of going on greater degrees of terrain) Bridges, buildings, and other forms of cover, obstacles, or targets would be highly useful. If it can be built out of something other than GSF Terrain, that's fine, though GSF is preferred due to ascetics. It should not, however, include spawn points or team bases. That will be added in by me personally after the map has been loaded. I'd like water on this map, but it's not an absolute. If it's made without it and it's still a great map, I don't really care.

Most importantly, it needs to be big, since tanks can cover a decent amount of area, and i'd like large teams, with long rounds playing on it.

TL:DR: I need a map to do a tank-war server on. If you're willing to build one for me, I'd really, really appreciate it.

Help / Unable to go into Fullscreen (Mac)
« on: August 16, 2013, 09:17:35 PM »
The title says it all, I am unable to go into fullscreen on my macintosh.
I was able to go into fullscreen some time before V20 or V19, I can't remember.

I am able to go into fullscreen in a very, very low resolution, which is also strange.

Upon entering fullscreen, the Blockland window disappears completely from the desktop, and while the icon is still in the dock, I can't use the "show" feature on the icon, it does absolutely nothing.

Specs:

Macbook Pro Mid-2010 13 Inch (Max Resolution of 1280x800)
Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 4 GB 1067 DDR3 Ram (2 sticks)
Graphics: Nvidia GeForce 320M with 256 MB of dedicated memory

All software is completely up-to-date, as well as Blockland. I've tried this both with addons and a completely fresh install.

Anything else you need me to put in this post, let me know in the comments.
Help is greatly appreciated, I haven't gotten to be in fullscreen for many, many months.

General Discussion / How to use Creeper Gamemode in V21 in 10 Easy Steps
« on: August 07, 2013, 04:15:38 PM »
I'd like to take a minute to explain something I've seen around Blockland.
Everyone seems to have gotten it stuck in their heads that the Creeper add-on from RTB is broken in V21.
It isn't, and here i'll explain how to get it up and working, so hopefully this doesn't keep getting perpetuated.

1: Install the "Creeper" add-on from RTB, either in-game or using their website.
2: Launch Blockland
3: Click "Start A Game"
4: Select "Custom"
5: Go into the "Addons" tab, and scroll down until you get to "Gamemodes"
6: Deselect Gamemodes; Rampage, Speedkart, and Tutorial (Slayer can stay on, and creeper may or may not be in there, if it is, select it)
7: Hit Select in the bottom right
8: Launch
9: ???
10: Enjoy

TO BE CLEAR:

Not only have I joined servers since V21 with the creeper gamemode fully working, RTB preferences, tools and all, but I myself have used it.
Using it in-game can be slightly tricky if you've never done it before, you need to make a minigame and select the Creeper playertype, and you'll need to know a few commands like /startcreepgame or something along those lines.
The actual commands and a full guide are available on the forums or elsewhere. Look around for them, and all should work.

Thank you, and good night to all.

Help / Vehicles Don't Move Forward
« on: June 27, 2013, 07:24:41 PM »
Hello everyone, I need help with my Blockland not letting me drive certain vehicles.
Here is the current (Not complete) list of vehicles:

Pompmaker2's "Hetzer"
Gravity Cat's "Humvee" (Note: I was able to move this before, until the latest update (V4), and includes all models)
Filipe1020's "Citi" (Note: this includes all models, from the basic to the Supercharged version)

When I get in these vehicles, I can "Steer" the vehicle left and right, and it leans accordingly, but upon pressing W to move forward, as I do with all other vehicles, they don't move, or move at about 0.1-0.4 BPS (Blocks per second).

Note: Yes, my keybinds are fine, and I have over 100 other vehicles in my list that work perfectly well, no problem. It's something to do with either Blockland, or the vehicles if I understand correctly.

Does anyone else have this issue? Do the authors of the mods have any idea why? Any suggestions on what to do?

Help / Mac Fullscreen Issue
« on: February 22, 2013, 09:26:16 PM »
Hello, hope you all are doing well here on the forums.
I need some help with an annoying issue I'm having with my Blockland game.

For some reason, since V20 (Or it was my switch from Mac OS X Snow Leopard to Lion):

When I attempt to choose fullscreen, it automatically has the Blockland window disapeer completely, with no way to bring it back.

This might be a problem with Lion, or it could be Blockland, or my card. In the end, if anyone knows why this happens, how to fix it, temporary or otherwise, I would be greatly appreciative. I have a fresh install of Blockland, and all active programs closed when I play.

IMPORTANT:
UPON LOGGING BACK INTO BLOCKLAND, IT IS IN FULLSCREEN, BUT AT A VERY LOW RESOLUTION, WHICH WHEN CHANGED TO A HIGHER ONE, RESULTS IN LOSS OF THE WINDOW, AGAIN.

My Specs:

Macbook Pro Mid 2010 (7,1)
Processor  2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory  4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics  NVIDIA GeForce 320M 256 MB
Software  Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5 (11G63)

Thanks!

Suggestions & Requests / The Whizzing Arrow Mark III! (Vehicle Challenge!)
« on: December 27, 2012, 06:51:28 PM »
Because there was nowhere else to put it.

Meet the Whizzing Aero Mark III:

This is a request, or better yet, a challenge!
This has quite the complicated model, and if you, yes you! Can build this monster, I'd be simply amazed.

In other words, can someone, anyone perhaps make this in Blockland?

If you plan to work on this, I can give full details on flight behavior, and provide information i've dragged from the wiki's around the 'net. Doesn't need to be perfect, but I'd be amazed if someone could even get close.

Remember: This vehicle "Hovers" while it does have landing gear and takeoff, it doesn't go to far off the ground, it wasn't designed to.

Good luck, and let the best Blocklander win!

(I actually doubt anyone will take the time and effort to make this, or even come close, but please, don't flame me, I had to try, didn't I?)
