Drama / Furdle - ID 713
« on: July 17, 2013, 10:29:34 AM »
I'd hate to give Furdle anymore attention, but hopefully this will reach out to the rest of the community which is unaware of how big of an starfish this guy really is.

not long ago, I gave Furdle a chance to help work with me on building for Wicked's RPG. From previous experience with Furdle, I knew that drama was bound to occur, but nevertheless, I gave him one last chance to prove me wrong this time round. Progress did speed up a bit on the build itself, but as you might of guessed, I couldn't of been more right. Furdle left the server in almost a storm as I did not agree with the changes that he wanted on the buildings that I had made, note; this change was simply changing the colour of a building. Not long after Furdle was made into the lead builder by Wicked, and I decided to depart from the project as I refused to work with Furdle any further (of course, after directly calling me a "dumb stubborn kid")

Unfortunately, I do not have any way to prove the paragraph above true, other than people who were in the servers at the time. It is your choice to believe whether or not this is the truth.

Today, Furdle joined my server whilst I was working on a new project:

Fortunately for me, all that was lost were a few numbers that were to be added to the football field that you can see in the background of the screenshots above.
Straight after this had happened, Furdle logged off RTB.

From my experience, Furdle is impossible to work with in the long run unless you're the type that will obey his every rule. This is why I recommend you to avoid working with him on any projects, despite his decent building skills.

Some gradient skies and normal ones from TF2 would be really cool, i'm suprised there haven't popped up yet cause they're pretty neat:

Suggestions & Requests / More-fitting grass textures
« on: October 08, 2012, 11:27:52 AM »
As from v21 we no longer have interiors and terrain, so blockland now sits on the flat plate of custom maps and because of this i don't think we really need realistic grass and sky textures as before, like the current default grass texture. What I'm requesting are grass, sky and water textures that have a bit less realism, e.g;

These aren't the best examples but this is more or less what I'm thinking of. The textures don't have to be as cartoony and bright, they can be darker than they are shown above.

Suggestions & Requests / (Event Add-on) -> Shakescreen/Blackout/Whiteout
« on: August 31, 2012, 07:50:42 PM »
3 events that may shake a players screen, shrink the screen into a circle/box/star or fade it into a white mist for a selected amount of time. e.g.

OnActivate -> Player -> Shakescreen (amount of shake) (amount of time)
OnTeledoorEnter -> Player -> Blackout -> Box/Circle/Star (amount of time until screen opens up in the shape selected)
OnItemPickup -> Player -> Whiteout (amount of time until screen fades back in)

Blackout may be useful for smoother transition of teledoors,
Shakescreen may be useful for small earthquake effects,
Whiteout may be useful for gamemodes where an item is to be found, and once it is a player can "whiteout" and be teleported to another location without a sudden transition.

Separate request, a script where players falling from high distances and hitting the ground shakes the screen depending on how much of a speed they hit the ground.

Other requests:

-> Centerprint(fade); http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=206276.msg5720012#msg5720012

Suggestions & Requests / Bricks sheltering from rain & snow
« on: August 28, 2012, 07:01:01 PM »
as seen in this topic: http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=205032.0...

using zone events its possible to shelter yourself from rain, but eventing each bricks that may shelter a player gets very tiresome especially if you're making highly detailed trees using the new plant bricks, that's why I've made this topic to ask; is it possible to have a script which automatically events any brick that is placed so that rain & snow does not fall through them? Of course, this would come with it's own "event" so players aren't required to actually download zone events and at the same time hide this event from the event list so no one can accidentally delete it, making rain fall through the brick?

I'm pretty much a noob to scripting and i don't know how it works, but what i think I'm asking for is a script that turns any brick into a zone brick, similar to the zone bricks found in the add-on.

Suggestions & Requests / Client -> Centerprint(fade)
« on: August 26, 2012, 01:31:34 PM »
A separate event from client -> centerprint that allows players to create centerprints that fade in and out and not suddenly like our current default event. e.g,

OnActivate -> Client -> Centerprint(fade) -> <bitmap:base/data/logo.png>

This would be really cool, cause you'd be able to also make images fade in, such as a logo (as the example shown above) and fade out, depending on the time you want it to stay on the screen.

Gallery / The Plaguelands | RPG | Progress!
« on: August 05, 2012, 06:46:33 PM »
Are you prepared to fight for your peoples homeland? Are you prepared to fight against the evil that grows ever so quickly in your home kingdom?

Introducing the (planned) multi-server RPG, The Plaguelands. The Plaguelands will be a very large RPG server in which you will be able to fight against your own kingdoms people, as the land is torn in half by the two ruling Barons whom are hungry for power over the once peaceful land. But as this happens a growing evil lurks south, threatening the lives of all the people in this very land. As the player, you will have the option to fight loyally for your leaders rulership over the land, or help defend it from the evil forces that will spread plague across the land...

More information to be revealed in the future!

Please Read!
Help is needed, to make this RPG set off! We need;
  • a scripter that is capable of creating simple and neat Gui's (such as inventory and leveling bars).
  • a dedicated modeler who is capable of making weapons that have a 'default' look and/or playertypes such as ogres, slimes and bears.
  • someone who can remake the entire bot events! (most desperately needed at the moment! > http://forum.blockland.us/index.php?topic=200829.0).

If you'd like to help, please send me a pm or reply below.

Suggestions & Requests / Bot events working when owner is not on?
« on: April 12, 2012, 02:56:17 PM »
Hey, theres been a problem that has probably been encountered by people making rpg's, where bot events does not work when the owner of the bots are not on the server. this means people cannot really depend on bot events when making their dedicated rpg's making it harder to create instances such as dungeons where it would be nice to have roles for bots instead of them walking around with a custom script.

that brings me to my question, can bot events be fixed so when the owner of the bots created is offline, they will still be working? It would really help since I'm currently making an rpg of my own, and so far it seems to be going pretty damn well.

I am aware that this might be in the wrong section, but I don't think bumping the bot events topic will bring as much attention, mainly from the creator of bot events, Amade. As here you may support to show how much this may help people

Suggestions & Requests / Blockland Menu Music
« on: March 24, 2012, 07:46:23 AM »
It's simple, just a quiet loop of differen't music that fits well with blockland in the main menu. I remember a couple that I think are sometimes used in Eksi's videos that i really liked. There could also be a button to mute the music in a corner of the menu screen.

Suggestions & Requests / 2D Playertype
« on: January 23, 2012, 11:38:43 AM »
Basically, a playertype that has its camera to the side, and if possible, sticks to that angle the whole time. I don't really mind if that is not possible though, I am happy enough with the camera facing one side of the head... so:

1st person = normal 2D view, the player in the middle of the screen.

3rd person = still 2D, but the camera is further away from the player making the player walk on the edge of your screen, so you can see upcoming dangers ahead.

If someone comes around to making this playertype, please add two different kinds: no jets, and jets. I don't mind if you will like to keep it as a privet add-on for any reason as long as I have it myself.
