Howdy!

So this is a map [referring to the new d-day map] that I was working on for about two weeks for the user "Abstract" and a personal test to see how much my building "skills" have grown, but had to stop as college workloads started to take more time. It's a recreation of a small portion of the beaches of Omaha during the invasion of Normandy. The map is not complete and I don't plan on completing it, so here it is for anybody to use / finish if you'd like. There aren't really any abstract bricks that most people wouldn't have if you are consistent in downloading popular bricks, but just in case I placed all (or at least I think) the bricks and the colorset that I used in the dropbox below.

Here is the link to the dropbox that includes the map/bricks/colorset.

Gallery / D-Day TDM [WIP][Suggestions?]
« on: January 27, 2015, 05:55:49 PM »
Hey guys, been working on a new TDM map based off Omaha Beach during the invasion of Normandy during WW2. It is not complete yet so any helpful tips as to what I will need to add or anything of that sort would be greatly appreciated. Also, if you have any WW2 weapon packs that have things such as ammo or custom animations, links to those would also be awesome, but for now this is what I have done.

Objective
The main objective of this TDM is to have the Americans invade the beach, capture points along the way, and take the final point in the center of the city on the German side. For the Germans, it is to stop the Americans from landing on their beaches and controlling the points.

Progress
As of right now, this TDM is probably a little bit less than halfway done. (~40% - 45%) Even though the basis of it and groundwork is done, many things will be added to it.

Features & Features to Come

Some features that I have already made are:
-VCE-Based objectives needed to storm the beach (Ex. C4 Explosive on the outer wall)
-Realistic Army Playertypes to make it feel as close as possible to the real event (still adding more features on this part)
-Large map for different strategies or counterattacks
-Mini-map at spawn to allow newer players what to aim for and how far they have progressed
-Weapon class system (Still debating if to use this or not, most likely will end up not using it though)

Some features to come:
-Bots on both American and German sides that will act as players but wont affect gameplay too much (so even with little # of players, it feels much more populous)
-Side animations, including planes that will fly over occasionally throughout the game at random times
-An automatic artillery system that will bombard the beaches, depending on number of players on the American team
-Camera-events and mini side clips that will play after certain objectives are taken
-Many more to come!

Last thoughts:
Again, this is a WIP and positive (or possibly negative) criticism is greatly appreciated and any tips on how this would be better would be awesome!

Help / Where to get VCE?
« on: January 26, 2015, 08:06:17 PM »
So I played Blockland a while ago but then after my computer crapped itself, I wasn't able to play it until recently when I built a new computer. Well, because of that I lost all of my addons and came back to find out that RTB isn't working up anymore and I couldn't find out where to get the VCE event addon, as in the one that uses stuff like VCE_ModVariable and VCE_ifValue and VCE_ifVariable. I think I have found it, but it is now a restricted/unavailable event anymore so does anybody know where I can find it or anyway somebody can send it to me? If so, that would be awesome!

Thanks, Gameking

Drama / 8BitDisaster's Twin Towers
« on: October 23, 2011, 01:00:16 PM »
Me and Bsc54 were on this guy's twin tower server. After looking at the build, it was petty decent but thats not the point. After looking at the build, Bsc54 and I were on skype and i told him to go in a Private jet's passenger seats to see how it felt to be in  of the citizens that were on the plane when it hit the building. Well, I spawned the plane and Bsc54 got into the plane, but after 20 seconds, he was permantly banned for "mocking" the twin towers even though he didn't say a single word or do anything. I then told 8BitDisaster (the host) about what we were talking about, and then I was banned by him saying I was an Idiot trying to get Bsc54 unbanned. I'm not sure about what you guys are thinking, but I think that this is kinda BS.

« on: August 02, 2010, 12:39:28 PM »
well i am looking for a computer on craigslist.com and eBay.com and found a gaming computer but don't know if it would work on blockland. i was wondering if it was possible to have to many Ghz for blockland, and if it was, what would be the max amount of Ghz.

General Discussion / 3.0Ghz computer glitched? (HELP)
« on: August 02, 2010, 11:10:03 AM »
well i wanted to try my dad's computer cause mine was really old and had bad graphics. when i went to a server/made a single or multilayer game, there was a glitch that when i looked from above the bricks, it looks invisible. for example: make a stack of 5 2x2 bricks. look from the top of it and you cant see any of the bricks, only the floor of the map....
Also when i look around at any server including the ones i host, there are random shapes coming from my crosshair connecting to the sides of the blockland box. (the tab thing)
