Adam Buckley, a Canadian radio broadcaster, does (almost) weekly podcasts, radio parodies, and rants. His most viewed videos are the "Worst Songs of 20__" series, but he also has many other great videos, including Song Autopsy, Scumbags of the Internet, and Advice No One Asked For.

So yeah, discuss his videos, podcasts and whatnot.

You are stupid. :\

User was banned for this post

It seems permanent, and he's back with another account, Glassy1.

I guess discuss it, just wanted to point it out.

Okay, so I went to select the default program to open .dll files, and I misclicked "notepad" or "windows explorer", somehow. So now my cursor is flickering and twitching and my process list has 50-100 "explorer.exe"s. What do I do?

Drama / Beachbum111111 -- All homeschooled people are social outcasts!
« on: September 27, 2012, 02:50:19 PM »
So you may or may not have seen that "Homeschooled vs. Public schooled" thread in off topic. It basically is a thread where MillCzarr listed four types of home schooled and public schooled people, albeit very blunt, also listing the pro and cons of them. Things were going fine with little to know arguments until Beachbum111111 started posting misinformed claims about how "Homeschooling makes you a social outcast" and so on. Basic stuff.

So it started out by him claiming that "public schools are better" without any sort of proof backing him up.

Public schools are better
I responded with
you're so misinformed lol

lack of social interaction (homeschooling) > stupidity (public schooling)
And he threw out the old "public schooling makes you not know how to obey" card.
If you don't learn how to socialize/obey your boss your forgeted
So I countered:
I know how to socialize. I said a lack of social interaction, I'm not a social outcast or socially awkward or anything.
And his response:
Learning subjects in school is half of what you are supposed to learn. Socializing with the other students is the other half. A lot of jobs out there require you to be social
So! Let's get this straight. Being around 500 other students which you are thrust apon to find a diamond in the rough half your day in which you are also learning from teachers who are appointed by the state, eating terrible lunches and learning as fast as the slowest kid in your class is better than learning at your own pace by your parents which you have a nice relationship with, and being able to do school on your own schedule? That's really great logic there. On to the next quote.

I was home schooled until grade 3. It didn't help a bit when I went to public school.
And being homeschooled when you were eight would help you how? You are still learning the basics before you are around 10, at which time you start learning the more advanced things.

Again. Social skills are required for life.

Social skills are required for life, yes. But I'm still not sure how being given 500 students to befriend gives you more social skills than pursuing them.

Didn't really know how to talk to people. However public school helped that.

This is too personal to make a claim of. Most homeschooled students have a youth group or other activity and that helps them talk to people.

It's easier because you see them every day

How exactly did you get the idea that homeschooled children don't see their friends every day?

I have. Your doing it wrong

Tell me again how football, baseball, or basketball help you develop social skills, life skills aside.

Your not even defending yourself your just insulting me. Which isn't helping your case

I think you're the one calling homeschooled children stupid.

Stop caring like everyone else

I counter with:

If you speak this language every day and say you have gotten an education you damn well should care about it.

Next quote:

At least I am defending myself without raging.

"Showing arguments that are completely valid but are against your arguments" isn't exactly raging.

You do realize in the real world no one criticizes grammar because they would get there ass kicked

This is nullifying your "you can't get a job if you're home schooled" argument. Most employers won't hire those who cannot take criticism.

Forgot :P

And you're saying you forgot a post you made not thirty minutes before. This is clearly a lie.

Now, I'm not saying that homeschooling doesn't have it's downsides, but this is quite clearly the weakest argument I've seen in awhile. Discuss him.

Drama / Northmoor -- Posting for a Banned User/Fanboy

Northmoor
Profile ID: 20825

If you browse drama or General Discussion, you'll probably have seen that Northmoor has been posting a lot of things related to Furdle. I realise this is my second drama on him, perhaps even the second drama related to him on the first page, but I feel that this is needed. He has been posting for Furdle -- a permanently banned user -- and trying to boost his reputation on the forums by posting things like:

Lets just take a moment to think about why Furdle is so awesome.
He is probably the coolest guy I know
He is a good builder
He has nice abs
He is a cool guy
He is friendly
Share the love <3

(too lazy to upload to an image sharing site)
(This one has an attached image and quote, click it to see.)

And numerous others that are posting and defending Furdle. Discuss.

Off Topic / GoDaddy.com DDOS'd, Domains/VPNs/Dedicated Servers Down
« on: September 10, 2012, 05:23:18 PM »
Today GoDaddy.com has announced that it is being DDOS'd by an unknown source, although apparent "Anonymous" owner @AnonymousOwn3r has claimed that he did it, and Anonymous has tweeted:

Quote from: TheRegister
A lone hacker has claimed responsibility for an ongoing denial-of-service attack that may have knocked out as many as millions of websites hosted by popular domain registrar GoDaddy.

The attack began at around 10am Pacific time and appears to affect the registrar's DNS servers. Any site that is hosted with GoDaddy could be affected, although as of 1pm Pacific the company reported that at least some service had been restored.

Claiming responsibility for the outage is a hacker who goes by the Twitter handle AnonymousOwn3r [1]. Although that account's Twitter bio describes the hacker as "Security leader of #Anonymous" and "Anonymous Official member," a number of Twitter feeds affiliated with the hacker collective say that Anonymous was not involved, and AnonymousOwn3r himself has called for sole credit.

So far, no reason for the attack has been given, although speculation abounds. GoDaddy has earned its share of detractors for various reasons, ranging from its early support [2] for the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the US, to GoDaddy CEO Bob Parsons posting a video of himself shooting an elephant [3] while on a Zimbabwe safari vacation.

According to AnonymousOwn3r, however, he "is not anti-GoDaddy" and the attack was not motivated by any of these reasons, but instead simply to point out flaws in the registrar's security:

Off Topic / If You Care To Know
« on: September 06, 2012, 01:49:08 AM »
Alright, I'm tired so I'd rather regret it in the morning than regret it all day. I am really stupid and I have spun a very elaborate web of lies that I wish I had never said. Everything I have said to people is probably untruthful or a lie, including my name and age. I am not Tobias Schulte, I was not born in Germany, I am not 15. Again, if I could take all the stupid things I've done back I would. I don't really know if anyone wants to be my friend or whatever because I pretty much don't think most of my friendships would still function as if they did before. This has already been a pretty bad day as it is so please excuse my lack of formatting or any sort of order. I just want to be blissfully ignorant but it's clear I cannot be. So, here's who I really am.

I'm a 12 year old kid who uses games as my escape and I bought blockland when I was around ten. I live in a middle class family on a small street in a suburb. I don't want to indulge my actual name right now.

I don't know if I can live this down or if I'll have to wait for everyone reading this to die to have peace from it. And by the way, I sure hope you won't use petty phrases like "he's not mature" or "he's only 12, he can't do anything!", I'd like you to remember that I pulled off this whole act pretty flawlessly and similtaniously managed two lives.

I don't actually think I'll use the forums as much as I did before this, at least not until I'm fit in again.

Drama / Jasa and Furdle's CRP (+ CrazyCrypt)
« on: August 17, 2012, 04:28:19 PM »
Okay, so I went to their CRP server, and I was mining ores and cutting down trees, while in 10 or 15 minute increments collected around $220 of ores. During this, CrazyCrypt was sniping random people:

As I went to deposit them, I cashed them all in and was going to go to the bank, but as soon as I sold them all, Furdle points a gun at me and kills me:

So I respawn and ask him why he did that. He then responded that "Killing laborers isn't against the rules". Yeah, so it's now a "kill laborers, get cash, buy guns, repeat" RP. Great. "Sord(###)" then kills Furdle and takes the money he took from me and jails Furdle for two ticks. I ask Sord to give me the money that Furdle took from me. He then doesn't respond. May I remind you that Furdle is the Co-Host of this GREAT server. [sarcasm]All in all, This server is great experience, and their admins and rules are top-notch.[/sarcasm]

Off Topic / Darkness's carrot Theory
« on: August 15, 2012, 10:56:33 PM »
This world is made of mega-microscopic carrots, 1/10033 the size of quantum foam. This is truth. Until you disprove with over five years of research backing it, and a legitimate amount of proof I will continue to believe this, for it is truth.

Discuss this ultimate truth.
