ABOUT: WHOWHATHOW

"We are a merry company of co-operating colleagues who find our comfortable existance
as a tool in the concerning of our coldhearted conquest of the corked blockland community."
– Sleven

"I saw it =)" – Sylvanor

History
During his years in Blockland, wandering the endless studded steppes of slate, Sleven became increasinly aware of the joy of building together. On 4th March in the year of Our Block 2013, he chose to take this joy to a new level and unite those he deeply enjoyed working with. Thus Cohort came to be.

Mission
We hope to be recognised as at top provider of memorable creations, servers, events and other Blockland products that can be easily enjoyed by the community. We, the Cohort Team, are here because we want to make a difference. We want to encourage tutoring and inspiring those in need, and welcome any questions concerning architectural supremacy[sic!], ideas, and current activities.

JOIN

You can apply to this clan by posting an application build of any type and style in the gallery. Make something very compact and detailed or something large. Qualities in both the build and applicant will be judged.

If your application is approved by at least 70% of the active membership, your entrance into the clan will be considered and postponed until a decent trial of in-game activities can be executed. This meeting will contain group-building, surveying of building-tactics/style/manner and production on request.

Do not apply for this clan if you are a lazy bum. This clan was created for production and idleness is not tolerable.

We have high standards. Do not bother applying unless you are fully confident about being able to build competently.

Suggestions & Requests / SUGGESTION: Golf / Miniature golf
« on: April 29, 2013, 08:24:19 AM »
I realized that seeing as we now have pretty decent terrain bricks, and other ballgames available, golf might be a nice addition. To me it seems like a fairly complicated thing to create, but then again it's not like I have any experience or skill in add-on making.

Whatever the ball would be, I reckon it'd probably have to be a bot for better collision and to avoid the fact that projectiles disappear eventually.

Just throwing this out there. Think it'd be fun. (old rich people RP??)

General Discussion / Would a purely democratic clan work?
« on: November 25, 2011, 02:37:00 PM »
I am talking from my own experience here, so feel free to argue against me or correct me if I'm wrong about something.

Every clan in the history of BL has been founded as a clan with a leader (or a group of leaders) who has managed the affairs of the clan, starting builds and dealing with the members, determining to what direction the clan is heading. (I am aware that C was democratic to some extent for a period of time, but the fact is that it was founded as a clan with leaders.)

I see one major issue with the current structure: clans mostly end up relying on the leaders to keep things happening. This means that if the leading members of a clan are too inactive (everyone stops playing some day), the clan easily dies from lack of activity.

What I've been thinking about lately (to the extent that I actually wrote a constitution for a clan I almost founded with Momentum) is the idea of a completely democratic clan, where the power would be equally divided among the members. I realize many might see this as a totally Utopian idea, and that decision making would take far more time, but the major advantage of a clan like this would be that when properly run, it should survive even if the member base changed completely. It would be a clan which exists for its own sake, instead of existing for the sake of its leaders.

Possible or not? Discuss.

Help / Brick sides turn black from certain angles
« on: October 12, 2011, 03:46:04 PM »
I recently got a Macbook Air with far better specs than my terrible, old desktop. Though I have no issues with semi-large brickcounts anymore, there is an odd graphics glitch, which turns flat faces black when looking at them from certain angles. I have also noticed this problem when playing Minecraft, though to a much smaller extent.
Any idea what the issue could be? :c

Gallery / LadCorp U.R.F. (Dead)
« on: November 13, 2010, 12:14:17 PM »
What is LadCorp?

Started on 15th of August 2010, LadCorp U.R.F. has become the largest build I've ever worked on. It's still under construction and will probably never be finished, as there's always something that can be added.

The facility is generally used for roleplaying, but people are encouraged to build laboratories or event contraptions with a scientific theme.

Before being allowed to work in the facility, people need to take a tour and do a simple test.

The facility consists of the following areas:

- Car park
- Reception
- Main hall
- Cafe
- Library
- Living quarters
- Archive
- 2 laboratory sectors: Sector PP and Sector ZB (7 labs in total) + an abandoned sector

The following people have contributed to the build:

Polit_@lex, Mr.Blue Man, Mr. Blockhead, EPIC CHURROS, Mr.AgentMan, Jenxas, Hellboy, Alyx, Flyman, Eli, Frogger3140, Chrisbot6, Dark Circuit Breaker, Black Tide(The surgeon)

(Some people might be missing from the list)

Gallery / Ladezkik's D-Day TDM/CTF

I made this in response to all the crappy D-Day TDM's I've seen.

Feel free to rate x/10  (Criticism won't kill me)

There were some people who made small changes (dead soldiers, taller bunkers) but I forgot who they were >_>
