Lake5's Suggestion ListGame-Mode: Terrain buildEach time a user leaves, their bricks are checked. If they have a baseplate with no terrain on it, the baseplate is automatically deleted. This would be called
spam deletion. The host would be able to adjust it as off, minor, regular, or strict.
Minor:
- The baseplate has no bricks on it or only has a vehicle spawn/item spawn
- The baseplate only has 10 bricks or less on it (the actual baseplate is excluded from this check)
- The baseplate has 70 or more bricks with fx - rainbow on it
- The baseplate has 45 or more bricks with the "camera glow" emitter (This emitter has a significant impact on the game's frame rate on most computers)
- Over 75% of the bricks on the baseplate have items, lights, and/or emitters
- The baseplate has over 60 music bricks on it
Regular:
- The baseplate has no bricks on it or only has a vehicle spawn/item spawn
- All the bricks on the baseplate are the same color
- The baseplate only has 20 bricks or less on it (the actual baseplate is excluded from this check)
- The baseplate has 60 or more bricks with fx - rainbow on it
- The baseplate has 30 or more bricks with the "camera glow" emitter (This emitter has a significant impact on the game's frame rate on most computers)
- Over 50% of the bricks on the baseplate have items, lights, and/or emitters
- The baseplate has over 45 music bricks on it
Strict:
- The baseplate has no bricks on it or only has a vehicle spawn/item spawn
- All the bricks on the baseplate are the same color
- The baseplate only has 45 bricks or less on it (the actual baseplate is excluded from this check)
- The baseplate has 30 or more bricks with fx - rainbow on it
- The baseplate has 10 or more bricks with the "camera glow" emitter (This emitter has a significant impact on the game's frame rate on most computers)
- Over 45% of the bricks on the baseplate have items, lights, and/or emitters
- The baseplate has over 20 music bricks on it
In this gamemode, the 64x grid applies (Obviously). The host can define a "starting save" (self-explanatory) or use the default one. When this gamemode is used for the first time, the starting save is loaded. Immediately after the starting save finishes loading, the game will make a
new save file. The host can define how often the bricks will be auto-saved to this file (in minutes), or turn it off entirely.
Rampage Mode: Bugs & feedbackI found the rampage mode to be quite fun and slightly addicting. It's a very nice way of demonstrating the game's physics engine. It
is rather disappointing that it only has 3 levels, but it's still quite fun regardless.
If 99% of the bricks get destroyed, the level should instantly end and a "platinum" medal should be awarded.
One annoyance is that the user must re-play all 3 levels each time they want to use free mode even though the user "unlocked" it. This might not seem important, but this can actually be quite frustrating for many players.
Another issue is when the bricks are being cleared. If the user destroyed a lot of bricks, it may not appear to actually be clearing them. This could convince the user that the game-mode is broken. As a solution, a progress bar and/or percentage should be shown. This way, the user will see that the bricks
are actually being cleared.
It would be quite cool to see an animation for the player sizing up instead of abruptly changing their size. This isn't too important, but it would just be a nice little touch to make it more realistic.
There should be a lot more levels to the rampage mode. More specifically:
The current rampage mode (as of r1713) should become the "demo" rampage mode. When the user attempts to start a rampage server, they will have two options; demo mode, full mode, and free mode. In the demo, free mode and full mode will
always be greyed out, even if the user has unlocked the free mode.
The full mode will have many new levels, including
bonus levels that can be unlocked by recieving certain medals for certain levels. This might seem a little too complicated, but it would really complete the rampage mode.
Here is a list of how the levels could be:
Level #1:Cottage
This would count as the "tutorial level". The user would have 30 seconds to destroy as many of the bricks as possible. When the time is up, no medal is awarded and the game will advance to the next level regardless of the score.
Level #2:Building 6
This would be the "practice level". The players start out at maximum size and have infinite time up until 50% of the bricks are destroyed. Then, there will be 30 seconds to finish. The final score will be shown at the end in place of a medal and the level will advance regardless of score.
Level #3:A.T.C. Fort
Players would have one minute to destroy at least 50% of the bricks.
Level #4:Beta City
Same as current first level (as of r1713)
Bonus Level #1:BLOKO Blupo
A bonus level that can only be played if a silver or gold medal is awarded on level 4. The server must have 5 or less players. Otherwise, this level will remain completely hidden. Users will have 15 seconds to destroy as many of the bricks as possible. The final score will be shown at the end in place of a medal and the level will advance regardless of score.
Level #5:Beta City
Same as the current second level (as of r1713)
Bonus Level #2:Kaje's Castle
This bonus level can only be played if the user is awarded silver or gold medal for Level #5. The server must have 3 or less players. Otherwise, this level will remain completely hidden from the users. Users will have 30 seconds to destroy as many bricks as possible. When the time is up, the level will advance regardless of the score.
Level #6:Afghanistan DM
Same as current third level (as of r1713)
Final Bonus Level:Golden Gate Bridge
This level can only be played if the user is awarded gold medal for levels 3-6 (excluding bonus levels). The server also must have at least 10 players on it. Otherwise, this level will remain hidden. Each user will be spawned in a random spot
on the bridge. If a user falls off and touches the ground, they will be killed and unable to respawn until the level ends. Until then, their camera will be locked in a mode similar to the "spy" mode for admins. It will switch to a different player every 20 seconds. Once all of the players are out, a final score is shown and the level will advance.
Offline Key PatchThere is an issue where users can turn off their internet and enter a deactivated key to gain full version features (excluding multiplayer). This can easily be fixed by ensuring that the user has successfully authenticated at least once before allowing them to use offline mode. In addition, if a user attempts to authenticate with a deactivated key, it will instantly be "blacklisted" by the game. Each time a user tries to enter offline mode, the blacklist will be checked. If there is a match, offline mode will not work.
