Off Topic / how did you guys discover video games?

i was around 5 and my mom used to take me with her when she went tanning. they had a room for the kids to play in while their parents tanned. i found some kids playing donkey kong country and mario kart 64 and i was amazed by it. i soon convinced my parents to buy me and my sister a gamecube and mk:dd.

so my friend has a sister that's into me and is borderline creepy about it. i would normally just go out of my way to avoid this person, but i'm always hanging out with said friend. we always have lan parties at his place because my internet is loving garbage. what makes matters worse is his friends at the lan party egging me on to try to get with this creepy girl.

anyways, what should i do?

Off Topic / question: will pop music today be considered "classic" in 40 years?

just a thought that occurred to me-- songs from 30 - 40 years ago are considered "classic". so what about modern pop in 3 decades?

i may be heavily biased, but older music seemed different in their production that made them memorable. pop (arguably) only has minor nuances in their sound.

i think what makes a song "classic" is not only its age. but what makes it memorable.

what do you guys think?

Off Topic / weird glitch with computer

so this weird audio/video glitch occurs sometimes. the video and audio freezes for a brief moment. i only notice this when on rocksmith 2014 and youtube.

not really a big deal, but it is a little concerning for me. any ideas?

Off Topic / does anyone here have any experience with the g27/g29 racing wheels/pedals?

i've been thinking about getting either one of these in hopes it'll aid me to work out my fear of driving.

i've listed both the g27 and g29 because apparently it uses the same pedals.

if anyone has one of these, i'd like to know a few things:

are the pedals gradual (as in brown townog, not a simple on/off trigger)? does the wheel have the same degree of rotation as an actual car? the same stiffness when turned?

asking before i spend $200+ on this.

in case a show got spoiled for you or you want to watch it like you haven't seen it before again, then samsung's got you.

i actually tried this myself to forget watching rick and morty (just to test this thing out, i don't have a reason to forget it) and it actually loving worked for me. i seriously remember very little to none about the show, including memes i've seen.

i have an open mind, and apparently it doesn't work unless you believe it'll work.

pretty weird but try at your own discretion if you'd like to test it out.

i don't think i've seen anyone discuss speedrunning around here. are any of you runners? i've been wanting to get into running, but i don't think i have the patience to learn strats and master them. thinking of running bfbb as my main speedgame.

i just made a site mainly with bootstrap 4 and i'm trying to do 2 things for the convenience of it.

just to give you an idea of what it is, here's a screenshot of it:



i have an affixed sidebar at col-md-2 and col-md-10 for the main section, and is also scaled so for smaller and larger devices.

whenever the pages load, the stuff in the sidebar briefly changes to plaintext, but it's still noticeable. is there a way to preload the sidebar or at least make it load faster?

2nd question, is there a way i can use one entire section of <style> within multiple files w/o actually typing in all of the stuff? i've seen this done before but i have no clue what to do or what to look for on google to find out how.
