Off Topic / Blacking out?
« on: June 02, 2011, 12:53:26 AM »
I'm losing huge spans of time in my head. I forget doing things, talking to people, and just hours of my life are absolutely omitted from memory. Sometimes, I can recall events, but the actual recollection is faulty and I'm 100% off on what happened, besides the gist or setting of the event.

Any ideas on whats wrong?

Off Topic / The word "yes" pisses me off
« on: May 31, 2011, 07:29:58 PM »
English is virtually the only language with a complex word for "yes." Think of how you have to pronounce it. You have to make that smiling lip motion to pronounce the "ye," then you clench your teeth and hiss to make the "s" sound.

Spanish - "cee."
Russian - "da."
German - "ja."
Japanese - "hoy."
Ebonics - "yo."

All of that can be pronounced instantly. It can easily be spat out repeatedly. Yes, yes, yes. Da-da-da. Ja-ja-ja. Hoy-hoy-hoy (a bit more difficult but Japanese is weird anyways). And we all know how fluid "yo yo yo my brother" flows from one's lips.

I say we change "yes" to "ya" and burn all the old dictionaries.

Off Topic / OPERATION: Salamander Freedom
« on: May 31, 2011, 08:58:06 AM »
I've had this big, motherloving copper colored salamander or lizard or whatever in my house for over a week. No idea how it got in, but it's always been poking its head around in the open before darting off as it sees me. I've kept a tufferware set out just in case I got the chance. It paid off. I don't know why it didn't try to run away at first, my guess was that it was starving and didn't have the energy.

I saw it just now in my kitchen and plopped the bottom on top of it.

I'm holding the bottom down in this picture because the beastly son of a bitch was pushing it everywhere around in the kitchen.

I slid the lid under it, moved it to the counter.

It was successfully transplanted to the outside where it darted off.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED

Despite how many millions of tourists are at the beaches and how all of the restaurants are going to be packed with starfishs, I got Memorial Day off.

And I'm hungry.

Help me decide what to eat. Make it something disgusting cheap and delicious. I'm going for Pizza even though every. loving. time. I eat Pizza I get horrible heartburn.

I'm going insane.

I don't have anything to work on in leisure time. All my projects are dead and I don't have any interests besides work that I can develop a website around. I'm going out of my loving mind just sitting here playing around in Drama and talking to people while playing muses like CSS and Terraria.

Seriously, someone pitch me some website ideas so I have something to do.

Off Topic / That too is called "Condensation."
« on: May 27, 2011, 05:42:27 PM »
I live in Florida.

Florida has the luxury of being surrounded by redneck states, filled with cubans, being a hotspot tourist destination for pompous college kids wanting to see the beach, being hot as hell, and being one of the most rainy and humid states in the country.

Needless to say, every home in the state keeps the air conditioning on in every season except Winter and late Fall/Early Spring.

But, it's not only hot, it's humid. This air we get is 90-100 degrees and saturated to the point of being a cloud almost all the time. Mid-Day can be so hot, and so humid, it makes it hard to breath, as if you're trying to inhale above a pot of boiling water just by walking outside.

At work, we have a heavy duty AC set-up that sucks air in from the outside, cools it, and pumps it through 5 big vents in the ceiling at various spots. Today, everyone was upset at how the vents were "leaking."  The conversation went like this:

Coworker         Man, all the vents are dripping.
That's condensation.
CoworkerYeah, and it's leaking everywhere.
ManagerI've already called maintenance in about it.
You don't understand ... It's not leaking, it's condensation. The humidity in the air is turning to water when it touches the cold surface. The same thing happens to a glass of milk or something.
ManagerI pay good money for my AC and I don't need it condensatin' on us.

Off Topic / ONE BAD FROG
« on: May 26, 2011, 09:06:38 PM »
I've been seeing a frog on my porch at the very top by the ceiling, staring at the light, every day for a week now. For the first time I went outside at night and saw him perched on the window frame. It occured to me this badass motherforgeter has been keeping the bugs off my lamp and off my porch for that entire time. I love him.

Picture of said badass. Look at him staring me down like I ain't even stuff.

Justin Bieber's snake is the size of the dislike bar. In Soviet Russia, something happens that is the opposite of what happened. Chuck Norris is somehow related to disliking this. Rebecca Black is stupid. Dislikers partake in activities that are frowned upon or will have something to happen to them. My parents thought I was watching research. I hate ads and Vevo is gay. Rap is for stupid people. Unlikely things happened during the song.

There. Now you only have to read 1 comment

Bi-Winning
One of my coworkers is a World of Warcraft addict who has bipolar sydrome. He has been increasingly moody and the managers gave him the entire week off to get aquainted with his new Alienware system he just purchased and get some R&R with himself and his new box.

That week was the week ending today. It occured to me that I had not seen the guy in 7 days and I asked three different people if they had missed him. None of them said yes, one of them, like I, hadn't realized at all that he was missing.

I wonder how it feels to be so unappreciated. I won't know, errybody loves me.

Move Bitch, Get out the Way
I live in the panhandle of florida. To get to work, I have to cross a 6 mile long bridge over a bay connected to the gulf of mexico. This bridge is 20 years old this year and was built when the area I lived in was inhabited by hermits. Now, it's a rather large tourist destination and the bridge can hardly sustain the infux of traffic with only 2 lanes.

Today when coming home there was some obnoxious college student in a truck with one of those really loving loud mufflers on. He tailgated me, literally a foot away from my back bumper, the entire 6 miles. I would even tap my breaks to see if I could get the friend off my ass to no avail. When I got past the toll booths he speeds up, zooms around me and 4 other cars, hits the off ramp, and is immediately pulled over by the unmarked police car that was leading the group of the four cars he passed.

The kicker? The entire area is under construction. Workers were present. That means double speeding fines. Ha ha ha. Jerk.

What do we do here?
Sometimes I forget that I produce food. I literally do not eat anything at the resturant except for chicken strips (the closest thing to something healthy that we produce). When someone asks me to box them up something to eat themselves, it takes me a second to realize that they're actually planning to eat it.

On the way home from work today I thought of something.

I knew a really pretty lesbian (age 24) that was undergoing a love change surgery. It occurred to me that I had always wished I was a girl but love change surgeries are just genital mutilations and even if they were 100% authentic, you still wouldn't get to live that life. You would never know what it's like to grow up as a girl.

Then it occurred to me that the same thing can be said a billion times over.  You'll never get to experience what it was like to be a girl. What it's like to be a girl in the 15th century. What it's like to be an Egyptian Pharaoh and have people idolize you as a god. You'll never get to know what it's like to be black in an inner city having to deal with drug and gang pressures. You'll never get to experience even a fraction of the vast majority of life experiences that have and are possible for a human being.

You get your petty little chunk of humanity over your misery quantity of living time. That's it.
