Tried joining my friends server which uses Blockland Glass. It seems like it does not allow you to join if you do not have their add-on installed.

Off Topic / Drivers: Which gas station?
« on: January 09, 2015, 11:18:02 AM »
I've been trying to find a good gas station.. right now I'm between BP and Shell. My car takes premium fuel.. I've tried Wawa's premium fuel and found my gas milage went to stuff with it.

I filled up with BP's ultimate last night but it will take a few tanks before I see any changes. Which station do you think is the best? Please don't suggest a station without a premium fuel, my car cannot run anything else because of the turbo engine.

I plan on buying a car, used or new. Prefer not to be over $16,000. At least 2012 model or newer. GPS and bluetooth required.

I have my eye on a 2013 chevy malibu 2lt with 32k miles for $13k in my area. Open to other suggestions.

Off Topic / 10 Year Old Cheese or 17 Year Old Cheese?
« on: May 19, 2014, 10:24:25 PM »
I have this thing for aged cheese, most cheese I buy is not less than a year old. Most cheeses you buy at the store are 3-6 months old, but I find the older ones have more flavor.

I like my cheese pretty sharp, and eating them on club crackers is seriously the best!

I'm considering the 10 year aged cheese...but not really sure. Suggestions?

The game features an asynchronous multiplayer element. The "multiplayer" experience is a one-on-one interaction between two human characters in which one player secretly joins the single player experience of another player. The first player (which entered the other player's world) is tasked with finding the second player (who is initially unaware that another human is in their game session - no notification is given to the second player). Once the first player finds the second player, the objective is updated. The first player's new objective involves installing a back-door virus into the second player's smartphone, then hiding while the virus siphons a portion of the data the second player has collected. The first player must stay within a certain radius of the second player for the download to progress. Ubisoft has also announced several other multiplayer game modes, one of which including an 8 player multiplayer free roam.

Once the download is initiated, the second player is alerted that they have been hacked and that data is being stolen from their smartphone. Once the second player has been alerted of the intrusion their objective is to locate the first player who is stealing their data, and either kill the first player or cause them to flee to such a distance that the download is halted (a certain minimum distance must be maintained for the download to progress). Any stolen information increases the first player's power once they return to their own single-player session.

Off Topic / Los Angeles may become largest GMO-free area in the US
« on: April 10, 2014, 04:01:55 AM »
http://rt.com/usa/los-angeles-gmo-ban-643/

I know a lot of you are don't care about gmo, but here it is anyway.

Part of article:

Los Angeles is considering a ban on the cultivation, sale and distribution of genetically modified organisms, which would make the city the largest GMO-free zone in the US.

Los Angeles City Councilmen Paul Koretz and Mitch O’Farrell introduced Friday a motion to curb growth and proliferation of GMO seeds and plants within the city.

The councilmen said the proposal aims to protect local gardens and city-grown food from future contamination from GMO seeds. The motion would not impact the sale of food containing GMO ingredients, however.

GMO seeds are mostly used only by large-scale farming operations, of which none exists in Los Angeles city.

"The pending ordinance would be symbolic more than anything else, but we do feel it's an important step to have the second-largest city in the nation declare itself as against genetically modified seeds," said head of Learning Garden and Seed Library of LA David King, who assisted in creating the motion.

King told The Huffington Post that if GMO seeds begin to be marketed to smaller farmers, the ban would be in place to protect home-grown food.

O’Farrell said suspicions that powerful new pesticides - incorporated into plant DNA via genetic engineering - have devastated worldwide honeybee populations by 40 to 50 percent in 2012 is the “canary in the coal mine” for GMOs. California’s almond crop, which supplies 80 percent of US almonds, has fallen on tough times given almonds rely so much on bees.

Off Topic / Comcast Users: You've Been Upgraded to 50mbps or 150mbps
« on: April 01, 2014, 09:57:13 PM »
Comcast did a speed upgrade on their network today. If you had Blast then you will now 105mbps, if you had Extreme 105 you will now have 150mbps. There have been reports of the lower tiers getting bumped to 50mbps. You will need to restart your cable modem to get these speeds. Also, keep in mind you will need a 16-channel bond DOCSIS 3 modem to get 150mbps if your on extreme. You can rent one or buy one for about $90. A DOCSIS 3 modem is also required for 50mbps.

Upload speed remains the same on all packages. They should really change this.

There is some unconfirmed talk about 150mbps being switched to 305mbps.

Update: It seems a very limited number of people have gotten this. As far as I know it's only confirmed in the Northeast. If you're in the Northeast and had success let us know.
