Let me know what you guys think! These were posted in order of when they were built, and each build took anywhere between 2 to 6 weeks to complete (over the course of about 8 months) Brick counts range from ~30,000 to ~150,000. I appreciate all the feedback and will continue to post more builds over the coming years! :)

Off Topic / Always back up your saves

I learned this the hard way. Quite recently I ran into an issue with one of my hard drives on my laptop in which my computer simply would not read the drive anymore. Since I have a 1 year part warranty on my laptop, I am getting a new hard drive sent to me. However, after asking if any of my data could be recovered, I was informed that it could not.

So because of this incident I have lost all of my Blockland saves. This includes projects that I have spent the past year working on. Some of them my friends have saved, but many of them were projects that I worked on alone. Obviously the smart thing to do would have been to already have my saves backed up, but of course it never occurred to me that something like this would happen.

I feel like I'm giving some sort of PSA, but always back up your saves. And maybe... just maybe someday we will be able to cloud sync our saves through steam. I am now going to give a proper burial to one of my builds that I saved a screenshot of.

Can anyone tell me what this addon is? I've seen two pictures of it now so far and I'm really curious. It looks so freaky and it would go perfect in my Outpost 31 build that I'm working on!

Help / how2model

So, I've decided to start modeling for Blockland. Not necessarily for posting addons and stuff, but just for the sake of knowing. Unfortunately I have no idea where to begin, nor how to start modeling anything.
What I'm asking for is a simple guide on where to start.

What programs should I use?

What's a good way to practice?

What should I model?

How 2 model?

I really don't like asking people for step-by-step guides, but that's really what I need.  Maybe I'll finally understand what "lowering the polygon level", and stuff like that. I'm not asking how to model really detailed weapons or something, just some basic advice on where to start, and how to do it. Thanks!

Help / How to upload a .gif?

I'm trying to change my avatar on the forums to a .gif I've selected from my computer, and I click "change profile". But all it does is take a long ass time to load the page again, and then it doesn't change. I even wait for a little while after I changed it, and nothing changes. Is there a specific format I'm supposed to change the .gif to in order to upload the picture? I need some help. :/

And I'm always looking for more songs to loop. I'm being a little cautious with taking requests because there's a lot of people who will want me to loop tracks from video games. Nuh uh. If I'm gonna take requests, then it's gonna be restricted to popular songs; preferably dubstep related (any popular song will do.)

ALSO, Tell me if there's anything that could use improvement with the songs. Some of these songs weren't easy to loop, and I'm sure that there's a mistake in there somewhere. Same goes with the volume. For most of the songs, I lowered the volume about 4 dB on Audacity, so tell me if they need to be louder (or quieter). Thanks!

General Discussion / Renderman V. Survivors

Hey there! This is the topic of the minigame I created called Renderman V. Survivors. It's just a simple Slayer TDM. The Renderman being 1 player on a team, and the rest of the players being the survivors. The teams shuffle every round, so a different player is the Renderman eash time. This is just a MINIGAME. It isn't a separate gamemode in itself.

There is a max of 12 players on the server at a time. I'm using the H&K weapon pack. I really thought the idea of randomized loadouts for the survivors would be a nice touch. But, since I have NO idea how to do that stuff, I just created 11 individual spawnpoints, each giving the player a different loadout. Now, knowing this, it does cause SOME issues. Minor issues though, such as players being able to drop their current weaponset and replace it with another. Bugs like those have easy fixes though. Which is what I intend to do here.

The "Renderman" on the other hand, is equipped with the default Sword, body armor, a recurve bow, and throwing knives. He is also the Standard Playertype (with jets and stuff), and he's got 2 lives. There is also a time limit of 5 minutes. This prevents the rounds from lasting 10 minutes and forces the Renderman to attack.

The current map being used is Alexander's Cabin.

I'll most likely create more maps myself, but this map is sufficient for the time being. The survivors spawn randomly throughout the Cabin, and the Renderman spawns in a mineshaft across the lake from the Cabin (hence the reason I used jet playertype for the Renderman).

Now, I created this topic for the sole purpose of improving the gaming experience for this minigame. That being said,  I already have a small list of things that need fixing, and I would love it for you guys to help me, by providing suggestions, and leaving your opinions on the minigame. Constructive Criticism is appreciated!

List of important things to fix/add

1. Prevent players from dropping items. (Is there a mod for that out there? If there is, a link/name of the mod would be greatly appreciated!)

2. Replace Recurve bow with an insta-kill type melee weapon? (People who play as the Renderman have a nasty habbit of camping outside, trying to snipe people with the explosive-feature on the bow. Removing it forces the renderman to be more aggressive.)

3. Obtain Invisibility watch. (The link to the Invisibility watch that I found didn't have a working link, if someone could provide that for me that would be great.)

4. Make new maps. (Alexander's Cabin is great and all, but there are too many area where the players can camp in rooms and easily take out the Renderman. I'm open to suggestions on maps also.)

5. Find a replacement playertype for Renderman? (Standard Playertype was the best option when I first created this minigame, but I don't know if there are any alternatives).

I would have posted pictures. . . but there really isn't anything to show. The entire map is Alexander's cabin. The environment settings are set to black fog. (If you request screenshots of the map, then I'm more than happy to provide some.)

Help / How to enable Colorsets.

I had to recently to a system restore on my computer due to some viruses. I reinstalled Blockland through steam (Which I had originally) and tried to redownload all the addons I had previously. I downloaded Trueno's colorset and went to enable it, but it doesn't give me the option to enable any colorset. I'm not sure what to do. I've tried redownloading the colorset and restarting blockland. I want to try and avoid having to reinstall blockland or something. But if I have to then I will. Please help.



The tab on the side where colorsets should be isn't there.

Help / 1x4x4 Prints

I'm trying to move my pictures to the print list of the 1x4x4 print brick. I've already tried it with the 2x2f and all other sizes and it works fine, but I'm not sure how to get those prints onto the 1x4x4 print brick. All  the pictures are resized accordingly to the proper size and I provided each with an Icon and Print. I am using the Steam Version of Blockland, though I'm not sure if that affects the issue. If anyone knows how to add prints to that brick it would sure be appreciated.

Help / No Killer

So the problem is that whenever someone kills someone else, no matter what type of minigame it is (whether its slayer or zombies) it never shows the killer. And the result of this being that it doesn't give any points to that killer. I suspected it might be the slayer gamemode affecting the points system somehow, but I've checked all of the options and nothing worked. Now this has been going on for a few months now. I have switched to the steam version of Blockland but that isn't the problem, nor did it fix it. If anyone has the solution that would be just dandy.
