First things first, this is a speical tut. on how to flat shade by your buddy gikon =D. [Make Your Model] So make your model, once that is done...Proceed to flat shading. In this example i used a Cylinder, one of the hardest items to flat shade perfectly. [Step 1] Click 'Select' then click 'Faces'. Select the whole model manually (do not ctrl+A) [Step 2] Click VERTEX > UNWELD [Step 3] Click TOOLS > TEXTURE TILE MAPPER Remember to keep the model selected! [Step 4] On the TEXTURE TILE MAPPER click Cubic, then click ok. [Step 5] Then Click VERTEX > WELD TOGETHER [Step 6] Click the GROUP TAB. Now click all of the groups, or press CTRL+A. [Step 7] On the group tab scroll to 'Auto Smooth' Make sure this is checked. [Step 8] Go to 'Smoothing Groups' and click assign. Click '1' [Step 9] CTRL+A the model, then click 'Select' in 'Smoothing groups' [Step 10] Click '1' then click 'clear all' in smoothing groups. [Step 11] CTRL+A the model, go to VERTEX > Unweld. The model should now look flat shaded, but dont be fooled... [Step 12] Repeat all steps till this one, then go to step 13 [Step 13] Go back to the groups tab and deselect 'Auto Smooth' [Step 14] Click VERTEX > WELD TOGETHER [Step 15] Now export on 'Torque DTS plus' IF done right, the model should be flat shaded ingame =D Note: For 100% flat shading 100% of the time, every time you edit the model redo the flat shading. | ---- |
