Games / Original HL2 Ravenholm soundtrack???

So I found out just now that the HL2 "Requiem for Ravenholm" song from Valve is actually from the brazilian group named Sorrows, is called "Solidao e Desespero - III" and actually lasts 7 minutes and 41 seconds (unlike Valve's 33 seconds) but that info is literally not stated anywhere on the Internet from what I found? Also no re-uploads anywhere on Youtube except the song itself. The original Ravenholm song is credited as Valve's but this sounds clearly like the original full song (the part used is at 5:28). The track also seems part of an album declared as released in 1991 on Apple Music and they have a website stating that their group was created in 2001 http://sorrows-doom.com/banda/ (and is still active to this day) which fits with HL2's near release date, so I doubt this is a licensing scam and it's like the very original thing which got digital only since 2015 it appears.

Seems very odd nobody took notice of that until now, there's also not a lot of views on Sorrow's automatic Youtube video. (I literally found that out by Shazam'ing the Ravenholm theme)

I want to believe this is some forget up with the song databases or literally a scam (because of how different it sounds from the other songs on the album) but nothing explains how they got hold of the FULL cut of the song from Kelly Bailey...

Get rid of any VM software you might have on your machine, the network drivers will screw with Blockland.

Welcome to Blockland Cinema 2020!
The greatest cinema experience ever created on Blockland
In 2018, with the great help from Shock, we decided to completely rewrite the entire gamemode and introduce a complete redesign of the lounge area.
We also decided to build all of this with the indivirooms in mind.
The grand hall will function and remain the same as before, and will keep the exclusivity of Siba's huge curved cinema screen.




You can still enjoy your favorite crunchy popcorn item created by Pah1023 and EcstaticEggplant
and good news: vaping is now authorized inside the cinema (thanks trog!)


   



INDIVIROOMS™

 
Indivirooms allow people to share synchronized YouTube videos with friends, there are 10 rooms
and each of these has a Blockland actor/video creator linked to it.
With Indivirooms, the videos played in it are seen only by people present within the room.
The room is free to join (by default) but can be locked so that the owner can decide who to invite.
All the commands are detailed inside the room, everything is displayed on screen before loading a video.
The owner is free to play anything he wants in the room.


QUALITY SELECTION (NEW!)

Server powered by Shock's experimental Blockland CEF (The newest form of BL Browser)
Blockland CEF is powered by the 'Chromium Embedded Framework' which now allows to play higher quality videos!



You can pick between 144p, 240p, 360p, 480p,  720p (HD) and 1080p (HD) (60 FPS available for HD qualities depending on the video)
Quality selection is client-sided, and can be changed with the /quality [quality] command. It is saved for every videos you'll watch next.
We currently do not allow above 1080p for now for stability reasons and synchronization issues.

When is this open?

edit: this has NOTHING to do with immigration, muslims or any of that stuff. Yellowvesters are a movement which began a few weeks ago across France to denounce the rise of taxes on diesel prices, and the life being too expensive in the country after macron's decisions.

The owner is free to play anything he wants in the room.

Server powered by Pah1023's still experimental BL-Browser and Shock's entirely rewritten gamemode



In order to fully enjoy our server, you will need to follow this tutorial

An installer is now available on the wiki tutorial page, it can make the process easy.
But it doesn't mean there can't be issues with your computer, please refer to the troubleshooting part if you experience anything unusual!

We do plan events like film screenings of full Blockland (or real) movies, and eventually organize a film contest with votes, prizes and all that,
we're still working on the idea and we should organize that at some point in 2018.



When is this opening?

Unfortunately, we still need to test the gamemode and find any issue you may encounter,
so we wont be hosting this 24/7 just yet, but we plan three opening times on:

Friday, January 12th [3 PM EST to 8 PM EST] (first opening)
Saturday, January 13th [10 AM EST to 8 PM EST]
Sunday, January 14th [11 AM EST to 5 PM EST]

Drama / DDoS attacks on different servers?

So apparently, my cinema server after reaching a playercount of 10 players (top server on the server list), started receiving random lag spikes which never happened in the past.

And these lag spikes looked a LOT like the ones experienced earlier in the day on Refticus' Block party server (which is also suspecting a ddos attack + made him close for a while (note: he doesn't use glass hosting)
My cinema server runs on Glass Hosting and never had a single latency issue with this service in the past, so I personally don't have any way to track this down (server's game console shows nothing suspicious) but I notified Jincux and I honestly think theres something going on.

I also asked some people on the server which told me many server had this thing happen to them aswell
