The above tracks are of a classification of music that goes by the label of Donaldcore. Donaldcore is an offshoot of noise music with the defining traits of flanged guitar, electronic drum machines, and arguably most importantly, lyrics that consist almost entirely of the phrase "Hit it, Donald."

Please give us a listen.

Off Topic / Nujabes is dead
« on: March 18, 2010, 09:56:34 AM »
he's dead as of February 26, but the news just got out today. for those of you who don't know (shame on you), Nujabes was a hip-hop producer from Japan. he did most of the soundtrack for Samurai Champloo, including the intro and outro, and released 4 amazing albums that you should probably hear.

good tracks for all of you uncultured swine that haven't already heard them:

Creativity / Music: Drum & Bass / Blues
« on: January 06, 2010, 10:46:43 PM »
I haven't posted music here in a long time, or on the internet in general. I just haven't felt the need to, but today I posted a couple of songs I've made over the past couple of months.

Nine Days Wonder - This is one of the first songs I've made with my Electribe MX-1 since I got it this past holiday season. For those of you who don't know, the Electribe is a machine that can produce up to 7 drum parts and 5 synth parts all at the same time. The five synth parts are monophonic (which means you can only use a synth part to play one note at a time, no chords). I'm still getting the hang of this machine and I don't think it's quite up to par with what I can do using software, but I'm getting there.

The Boulder City - This is a song that I've been infrequently working on on and off for quite some time now.

I also plan to start putting unfinished projects up on this wordpress, since I usually save my Newgrounds account for projects I feel are finished.

Off Topic / Ed, Edd n Eddy Marathon, Big Picture Show
« on: November 07, 2009, 06:58:51 AM »
I'm sure a good amount of you don't even watch cartoons anymore, and a few more of you lost faith in Cartoon Network long ago, but I think it's safe to assume that a lot of forum goers here grew up watching Ed, Edd n Eddy. The television movie is finally getting its North American premiere after airing first in Scandinavia (why?!) this May. According to Wikipedia we'll finally get to see Eddy's "Big Bro".
The marathon starts at 1:00pm over here, and then on Sunday the Big Picture Show starts at 8:00pm. I'm pretty excited to rewatch all of my favorite episodes. The movie is also available for your viewing pleasure on Youtube right now, but please, no spoilers. :(

Creativity / Graffiti Playdo
« on: September 23, 2009, 04:32:08 PM »

This has been around for quite some time, but I just remembered it today. It's basically a more limited (tool-wise) iScribble based around graffiti. It's pretty obvious that I have no talent when it comes to this, but I'm sure at least one or two members of the forum are into this stuff. It's actually a lot of fun even though I know nothing about this art style, it's also a lot of fun to slam your can onto the ground and watch it bounce.

Just follow the link at the bottom of this post, choose an 'artist name' and then click Private Rooms and type in "Blockland". The room closes when the last person on it leaves, so make sure to take a screenshot of your creations before they're gone!

I should add that it's enough there are no enforceable rules, please avoid being a gigantic douche and have some respect for others.
As well as that, please wait until everything loads until you start drawing or erasing.

Creativity / Worm's Music: Accordions
« on: July 12, 2009, 06:54:22 PM »
I've been working on making my own music for about six months, and I believe I'm noticeably improving. My songs are still mostly mediocre, and I'm aware of that, but I feel they're at least good enough to share and get some criticism on.
Wish One - A short Jazz-Hop song based on the work of musicians like Nujabes or DJ Deckstream.
The Remark - A regular Drum and Bass song.
Checkered Display Chief - An older song made of mostly default materials, but I still like it.
All The Wrong Places - A simple Hip-Hop song I made with the Korg nanoPAD that I picked up recently.
New:
Astigmatism - An ambient song with a stereo breakbeat twist.

I'm not going to remove all that, but I won't accept criticism on them. I've been working on music theory more lately, and I do feel I'm improving. I'm still a newbie at it though, so feel free not to be, or to be (less preferably) "you're-randomly-placing-notes" tough. :(

Precisionisms on the High Sea - An accordion jam
