So, you know what's cool? Puerto Rico is going to be our 51st state.

A referendum on statehood, independence, or continuance of the status quo was held on November 6, 2012. Early reports from this election appear to indicate that Puerto Rico successfully passed a referendum establishing statehood for itself, pending approval from Congress.

This is by no means all inclusive, but it's a good bare bones if you are stuck with client-sided scripting for server interaction. I wrote this up for a friend and I decided I would post it here in case any of you might benefit.
