Games / Magic : The Reposting

Well, as of late, I've gotten super addicted to Magic: The Gathering. Now, what is Magic, you may ask. Or if you're a true nerd, you already know what it is and you probably play it. But for those who are less nerdy, it's a card game where each player starts out with 20 life points. Each player plays things called "Lands" in order to generate mana, which they use to play monsters, spells, artifacts, and just about every card in the game that isn't a land. The basic way to play it is with a deck that has a minimum of 60 cards, but their are also other ways to play it. The most popular version, other than standard, would have to be Legacy.

SO I found this thing that lets you play magic online for free, called Lackey. All you do is download that, go to preferences, and install the magic plugin. Then you just build yer deck and join a server. Anyone wanna play? :v

Games / [WH40k] I'm getting an army, but I need some help
« on: August 26, 2011, 03:07:49 PM »
Well, so in the past few months, I've started to decline in playing video games and have shifted more to the tabletop gaming route. Picking up DnD, Magic the Gathering (again), and now after all this time I've decided I'd also like to get into Warhammer 40k. I've always wanted to play it or fantasy, but at the store I go to more people play 40k, so go figure. Anywho, I've read about a few of the armies, watched battle reports, read the rules, and I'm pretty ready, I guess. But the only thing I'm having trouble with is picking an army. Now, I have two armies that I most likely will end up going with. I first read and looked at the Tau and loved them from that moment. Flying tanks, robot HQs, huge-ass range on loving everything with almost all of them being able to penetrate armor? Shweet. But then I looked at Space Wolves. They've got some cool as hell lore, are brutal in close combat, and can also be pretty mean at close range. And they have loving wolves, tanks, and drop pods. WOLVES. But I'm having such a hard time picking an army.

So, people, want to help me pick an army? I'm open to some other suggestions, but don't loving tell me vanilla Space Marines. I'm a newbie but I know that stuff won't work.

edit: Also, I'm sure I read this somewhere in the rulebook, too lazy to look for it, but can you have units from other armies in your army? Like, orks with marines (why you'd do that I don't know.) Just wondering. If so, putting some loving Daemons with Space Wolves for lolz.

Well, I'm trying to download Mafia II, but every few minutes or so, it will either suspend itself or pause. Anyone know what the deal with this is?

I'm currently trying to build a Commander deck using only Myr's as creatures (given a few artificers, for obvious reasons) but I'm not sure if I'm good on artifacts or not. They really need more Myr-related spells, kind of saddens me </3

During World War II in the back country of Russia, a team of Russian scientists had come together in attempts to make a formula that would cause skin cells to rapidly reproduce, nerves to resurrect if they were killed, blood to be quickly remade if someone had lost large quantities of it, and to even regrow bones and organs within the body itself. An antidote for death. They abducted many German and Japanese soldiers which to test this on, and they all horribly failed ending with the exact opposite: a mindless, slowly decomposing, walking corpse. Slowly, the disease mutated and began to take control of animals that were in the labs of the research facility, and soon an outbreak was caused. Thankfully, the facility where the experiments were being done was destroyed during the an atomic reactor meltdown, as it was only a few blocks away. But, the disease was not. Before the explosion, a single raven, dripping with an odd, green fluid, flew out of the laboratory and out into the country side. Slowly, the disease traveled in secret, only infected a few people, before it begun a massive outbreak many, many years later.

Well, with MSMM, I just hit a writers Hoover Dam, so I turned it over Doomcop for a bit of a guestwriter since I couldn't think of anything fun. Then, I sunk back into my zombie slump. Talked to people about zombies, read World War Z bits, and watched 28 Days Later. Now, I'm back for a different kind of game. This time, it's going to involve you bros. Rest assured, this will see updates like MSMM used to, considering I now have my own PC to operate off of so I have the ability to update at my own pace without someone breathing down my neck.

Each survivor will be given a vitals card. This vitals card will contain all of their health statistics along with all the other stats they need to be a part of the game.

-Strength
Allows the character to preform certain actions involving their manly muscles. Need a locked door busted open? The guy who's the buffest is your man. This also involves speed, dexterity, balance, and the like.

-Intelligence
Now, I don't think a dumb guy could survive the zombie apocalypse, could he now? Probably not. If you're gonna get out of this, you're going to need your razor-sharp wits. This skill helps you do things like hack computers, create traps, and maybe it could even help you find a cure.

-Constitution
During these harsh times, you need to be strong. Some cowardly she-woman sure as hell won't surive a zombie apocalypse! Constitution helps with things such as staving off diseases, and getting some extra health points up.

-The Panic Meter
Depending on a person's mental state, the number of zombies, and thousands of other conditions, a character can begin to panic. When a player panics, they start to temporarily lose points in the three basic skills above until they calm down. A players Constitution will slightly help how the player panics, or if he does at all.

Games / Dungeons and Dragons, anyone? [4e]
« on: May 14, 2011, 02:33:54 PM »
So, a week or two, I got into playing Dungeons and Dragons. Went to a gamestore, joined up in a game, and it's been pretty swell ever since. Just recently, I've acquired the Dungeon Master's Kit, which comes loaded with a free, two part adventure. Tonight, I was supposed to have a couple of bros over and play it, but they all had plans come togehter at the last minute, and now I have no players.

Anyone here up for a game? I'm looking for at least four people to play it, but I'll take six at the most. If you're interested, go ahead and post so! It's 4th Edition, by the by.

REQUIREMENTS:

-Skype
-A level two character, any class/race but must abide by rules (HERP DERP I HAVE 900000 STR AND CON HERP)
-GameTable. It's a simple virtual gametable. Comes with some pogs, which are used as characters and monsters and shiet. Lets you roll dice, etc etc.
-A basic understanding of character creation

Now, for the people who don't have printers, paper, pencils, or any of that stuff, I just so conveniently have a digital character sheet! Now, you still have to punch in most of it, but it'll automatically figure some things out for you. I fiddled with it just a bit, so it should be good. Sadly, it doesn't have a list of items, so you'll just have to check the Player's Handbook for the "100gp" shopping spree. Don't cheat the numbers, I'll just kick you out.

Creativity / CD Cover I made
« on: April 17, 2011, 12:43:10 PM »
So for my art class, our last project is to design a CD cover for a fake band that we just make up, make the back with song names and copyright stuff, the whole shebang. So a bunch of sub-par lassoing and erasing jobs later, I came up with this:

It's sort of inspired from a bunch of 60s-80s music albums and partially Sgt. Pepper's cover.

Good? I'd love some constructive criticism.

Hey Badspot, It's been like a bajillion years since I lost my PMs. And I was kind of wondering if I could have them back.

Hugs and kisses,
NickTheSushi

P.S.- I may or may not make you a photo of your face copied into a picture in some sort of awesome situation like standing on top of a building condeming the world into hell, or take that picture of Micheal Jackson holding a baby over a balcony. You'll end up holding Kalphiter or something. I'll make it to convince you more, because I love you.

« on: February 10, 2011, 04:53:59 PM »

Basically, it's this huge event in both Washington and Louisville where a bunch of bands come together and play all sorts of Beatles music. There are also people playing things like The Who, Jimi Hendrix, and all sorts of other bands from 50s-70s. I'm hopefully going with a few of my bros, have a good time.

Anyone else going to the show in Louisville? Can't wait C:

OH YEAH, THIS stuff AGAIN. Basically, Pesterchum is an IM system inspired by the delightful and confusing as hell series Homestuck. Everyone inside of the series uses a program called Pesterchum to chat with and troll eachother. This is basically a topic for chum handles :D

Well I joined Demian's server and it was pretty empty, so I decided to build a little something. Mind you, I saved it and took it back to my server. The brick count is about 2k, I didn't check before I quit. So just 1/10 it and enjoy c:

Games / Minecraft - Lakeview Village
« on: January 16, 2011, 05:22:54 PM »

Lakeview Village is a new village project created by Menen, myself, and a bunch of other fools. It was originally a two-man coop save, but I wanted to expand. So we'll be adding all sorts of buildings, making a larger city. We'll also host a few events after I unveil a secret project to the civilians, which should be a lot of fun.
