Off Topic / Good way to learn linux/Bash (and rant)
« on: October 27, 2019, 07:13:08 AM »
I have a Linux exam next week and my professor sucks at explaining it and I don't understand a single thing about it.
Good ways to learn? I have a VM set up but its slow as forget. Like it just freezes when I start firefox. My good computer is at my dorm but I have a week off school to study so im at home.

Dumb loving rant
Like why do I even need to learn linux. Its so loving stupid. "bruh unpack this archive" on windows its just rightclick and unzip. On linux you have to open the terminal, do some computer magic, type a dumb ass command after spending 30 minutes looking it up in the mans, help or on the internet because no one loving remembers it and you finally have unpacked your stuff. But jokes on you, have a gzip file? Thats another command with the same options except they all have a different meaning and do other stuff. Thats handicapped.

But muh system stability
forget your system stability. Windows 10 ran much smoother and stable than Ubuntu on my stuffty 2008 computer. It can barely play a youtube video.

But muh servers
Save yourself the headache and get a windows server

But muh open source
No one cares. As if youre going to publish a whole new distro

But muh customization
Have fun loving up your kernal trying to change the color of your clock or something stupid. Also windows has powershell or some stuff now idk

God I loving hate linux. forget you cisco.

Also the future is loving stupid

I hoped we would enjoy a few extra years before needing a dongle after apple did it but guess not.
I mean yeah I bought a small, thin and light laptop. Sure, I don't expect it to come with a ton of IO and a fleshlight build in or some sort of stuff.
But really. 2 USB's and a USB-C is just pathetic. At least it comes with a headphone jack too.

Speaking of usb-c. Why would you not loving ground/earth it. I bought your dumb ass expensive usb-c charger so I have the same charger for my phone and laptop but you don't ground it. What toddler designed this stuff? I can't use the touchscreen now when charging unless I ground the laptop.

Copy Fujitsu and do some origami type ports or some stuff idk. I would 100% pay a hunderd buck more to have more ports.

and lockdown browser can suck on my left nut
thats all. See you in another month or two. Love y'all <3

Games / Starsector - 2D RPG/Trade/Fleet Combat Game
« on: September 05, 2019, 02:20:48 PM »

What is Starsector?

Starsector is a single-player sandbox style space role-playing game with strategic elements.  That’s quite a mouthful, though, so here’s what it boils down to – fly around with your highly customizable fleet, explore, build stuff, blow stuff up, advance your character.  The goal is to give you lots of meaningful choices in a malleable world.

What is the combat gameplay like?

You have direct command of your flagship, and can give orders to the officers aboard the rest of your fleet.  Their personalities and skills play a role in how well they execute those orders – for example, you probably don’t want a recklessly aggressive officer flying a support carrier, or a timidly cautious officer piloting your close-range support destroyer. Battles can vary from small frigate skirmishes to giant fleet-on-fleet battles. You may find yourself running down pirates attempting to flee from your superior fleet, or sometimes you will be trying to escape from a hostile patrol – do you sacrifice some ships to slow the enemy so your freighters can escape?

What will the strategic gameplay be like?

You start small, with only one or two ships.  You have a few ways to progress in your career- build up your personal ship, make money through missions, bounties, smuggling, and scavenging, expand your fleet by salvaging derelicts or buying new hulls, invest in an outpost or two on a resource-rich planet, or any mix of the above. You’ll also want to build up your personal character skills and officer corps to best excel in your chosen path.

Can you say more about the economic model?

The economic model in Starsector strives for one thing – to allow you to make meaningful choices. Say you found a cache of illegal drugs while scavenging in the outer systems. Do you smuggle them to sell on a populated core world, potentially causing instability as you enrich the criminal underground and undermine the rightful authorities? Do you make a risky trip to a pirate base, dodging raiders, to sell the drugs where there is no law? Or do you pass up this profitable opportunity and instead take up an offer to ship surplus food supplies to a starving colony? The choice is yours.

When you found your own colonies, you should choose carefully what resources you specialize in. Perhaps you simply fulfill an economic need – or perhaps you carry out a raid on a competitor’s industry to cripple production and allow your faction to dominate the market. Beware however, because a strong faction may do the same to you if they take offense at your attempt to move in on their cornered market.

Off Topic / Ya boy is getting hospitalized (blogland)
« on: April 30, 2019, 06:15:55 PM »
Oof I had a big relapse.
Ive been seeing a psychologist since january now and went to my neuropsychologist for the first time last week. She thinks I am suffering from ADD which causes my depression but I really just think I have trouble paying attention because im always tired because I don't sleep anymore because im depressed (Oh and my doctor thinks I'm actually autistic lmao (im not btw)). But alas. They arent going to prescribe me anything cause they want to make the right diagnose first.

A few days after that I got into a nasty panick attack and made an attempt on my life. I vaguely told my therapist what happened and shes going to put me in a psychiatric hospital. I wonder what my next panick attack will bring me. Im fine with either possible outcome tbh. So yeah, thats whats been going on with me if anyone on this site actually cares about me and wondered where I went.

I might actually be massively autistic 🤔

Off Topic / (rant) Wowee driving tests are the gayest stuff
« on: March 12, 2019, 06:33:53 PM »
Honestly whats even the point of having a theoretical test for your license? Everyone drives likes a loving idiot anyway and the theory doesnt apply at all in the real world because that just comes down to "dont be a loving handicap". Also the test is handicapped to start with. Wym I need to have 41/50 to pass. Since when is half not enough to pass. I hate this stuff so much thats 82% and that number is higher than the amount of brain cells I have left. Do you expect me to suddenly get a 300 IQ brain to take it or some stuff?

Also a big mistake subtracts 5 loving points are you kidding me?

I passed tho but I hated every single second of it with every hair of my body. Cant wait for the guy im doing my practical exam with to stuff on me for shifting at 1999rpm instead of 2000.

« on: February 21, 2019, 08:36:01 AM »
So I bought a record from bandcamp that shipped from hong kong with a value of 22.9 euros (26USD).
I know the record label marks their stuff as "gifts"
Value of "gifts" wont be taxes by customs if its under 45
Yet I had to pay 32 loving shekels to get my record

What kind of jewish trick is this?
taxation is theft
